"In the year 2771, the population of Mars was 55,721,000.   By the year 2871, that number had dropped to under 1,000,000.   By the year 2971, memories of Earth had become legends.   By the year 3071, legends of Earth had become myths.  Today, the years on Earth pass without notice on the once-red planet. Through unimaginable turmoil and against unimaginable odds, humanity has once again begun to thrive.   Civilisation has returned to the fertile continent of the Tharsis Rise. Kingdoms and Republics form in the shadows of ancient cities holding arcane artefacts of a bygone time. Prophets and astronomers spread their truths about Earth, the past, and the future. Wars are fought, schemes are plotted, and great men and women draw designs on the future of Mars."Hey folks! As you know, the monthly themes for this month are Melancholy Moments and Legendary Monsters, and so with this first track of the month I decided to... basically ignore those themes 😲 Don't fear, I'm already working on some on-theme music, but this particular this track came about after I received an interesting track suggestion from one of my top-tier patreon supporters. They wanted a track that would fit nicely with a Crusader Kings 3 mod they're working on, Tharsis Rising, which takes place on Mars, and thus the track had to combine the obvious sci-fi tone with a medieval aesthetic (Crusader Kings 3 is a game about controlling a medieval dynasty). The track could work great as an intro song to a campaign, or perhaps during a combat encounter or during a moment of wonder as the party stare up at some great monument or building. If your campaign is set in a medieval-style era but has hints of ancient aliens buried in ruins, or you're playing a space opera campaign with laser swords and ancient magical powers, this track is for you!Enjoy!____________
