Americans are big believers in the notion that we're the best.  The biblical "City Upon A Hill" rhetoric that casts America as a majestic place made superior to all other places by God almighty was first evoked by John Winthrop in 1630 Massachusetts. He was talking about his colony, but he didn't know what was to follow. 331 years later JFK repeated his words, "that we shall be as a city upon a hill—the eyes of all people are upon us." This brand of American exceptionalism has plagued our existence- and made die-hard fans out of the USA. While other countries also lie and paint pretty pictures to maintain the love of citizens, America is supposed to be the best, right?

Ponder This: What happens when people unconditionally love something or someone that hurts them, disrespects them, or doesn't care if they exist? Also, what happens when nationalism has dictated that America is a majority white nation but white people are set to be the minority by 2045?
