You read right.

I took the beat outline for the ending, saw it was making things too long and drawn out, and decided it would be smarter to cut stuff and trim things down. So, I did. I stopped and restructured it, then trimmed scenes AGAIN.

I felt pretty good about it. I didn't want it to end up in that classic pitfall, where only a few characters are useful and everyone else just picks their nose for an hour. So, I kept everything in that allowed the FULL cast to be important, or for enough exposition to make things work.

Ah, that's still a very big cast, and a lot of info >.> So, while I'm really happy that everyone plays multiple parts the whole way through, and while I kept all the 'out of control' rambly growth scenes I could in...yeah, I checked.

It was 117 pages. XD AFTER THE CUTS.

...Eh, so rather than bludgeon you poor souls with a chapter that absurd, I'm splitting the finale into two parts. That way, structurally, it does have a logical buildup to the fight, and then the final confrontation and aftermath. You can take a break between. You probably SHOULD take a break in between! Also, they surprisingly wound up nearly the same length, which was kind of neat!

I'm just gonna warn y'all now, it gets about as crazy as you might expect. XD It's chock-full of silliness, but hopefully it stayed in-world enough to justify the insanity.

Lastly...THANK YOU ALL! Holy crap, you gave me the time I genuinely needed to keep this ball of string wound properly, and do it as right as I'm currently able to. Nobody rushed me, everyone was super-supportive T///T Really, this was a great time, more so than I expected, going in. (Not like it was terrifying at first, hahahaha >.>)

I really, seriously hope this concludes this monstrosity in a fun, readable manner. I tried to keep it as fluid and smooth as possible, there's just a whoooole lot to cover in it X3

Enjoy! Just...you know, pace yourself, because even for me, this is HUGE

**P.S. I will be reediting this over time, and releasing it back to y'all as a full novel, all cleaned up (and trimmed again, slightly, probably) <3 You'll all know what that final poll was for pretty soon, too, I haven't forgotten!

Mr. MCTIM

(I was just getting on Patreon to look at another's account, then this suddenly appeared in my Notifications. It looks like I'm first, so I'll get to read then post about it. That's making me a bit nervous, but here I go...) That, was quite a read. I can see how this was a lot of work to finish. It still managed to keep the Beastars aesthetic, even though things grew WAY out of hand. And proportion. I'm glad everyone that was in all the polling got included within the final chapter. And I have to admit, I was hoping that it was going to result in the whole, "Everyone and thing goes back to normal" scenario. It felt like that needed to happen within the Beastars world. But that's just it, this is YOUR idea for that world, so it can be different. I still liked it, even if admittedly, the ending felt a little out of place for me. But that's just me. It actually makes me curious to know if there's going to be some type of Epilogue to follow up on all this. Either way, Congratulations on finishing this "Beast" of a Story Series. It's one among the "Stars." And on that note, I have some questions: - Is there going to be an Epilogue? - And is that what you meant when you were talking about the Final Poll, an Epilogue? - Or was the Finale going to have the Final Poll results within it? I know there was a Prologue, but that doesn't mean there has to be an Epilogue. - And just like the Dragon Story you did, are you going to make Artwork of some of these characters as their big, bulky selves?

**SORT OF SPOILERS-ISH** That's fair! I kept thinking on it during the latter half, and I couldn't find any ways to 'reset' that felt right, hence leaving some in-universe openings for things to stabilize/return to normal, *should* the viewer prefer to think in that direction ^^ It COULD get closer to how it all was, if not full-reset (I think too much drastic scale stuff happened for that to work); if the viewer likes more berserkoid sizes, some can read the conclusion as permanent–it's more up to interpretation that way The final poll isn't *quite* for an epilogue, specifically, it's more than that; it'll make more sense when it hits later! I do plan on some hero imagery, yup! And thanks very much! I'm glad it was still enjoyable enough!

Mr. MCTIM

And that's true. It has a type of vagueness that can give more stability, like you said. And the freedom to have the reader think of the ending in how they would want to. (And drastic scale is an understatement. You definitely gave even more serious meaning to the phrase: "Above and Beyond.") And now you've made me very curious. I can't wait to see what hits later now. And the Imagery. :D And Your Welcome. I still did enjoy it more than just "enough." The sheer amount of work you put in helps add to this.

That is such a fantastic news! I have to be honest, I have not yet read any of the chapters. I deliberately waited for you to finish it; so I can set the pace myself. I just hate when I reach a point where I scream “When comes the next chapter?!” :) Can’t wait to dig into this!!! Anyway, my question is this: will there be any edited/reworked/error corrected/etc version (in the foreseeable future) or can I start reading now? I don’t know how long the entire book is, I imagine 500-800 pages – so I don’t really expect a “yes” here. Still I wanted to ask. Another thing is, I don’t really know the Beastars universe... I guess I shall read a few wiki pages to get to know the characters (unfortunately watching it on Netflix is not an option). Any thoughts on this? I am still restless, I want to see them groooooow...! :D Also, congratulations! Finishing such a monumental work must be really satisfying. I can’t imagine the hours and days and months you spent with this! Absolute respect.

Dnapalmhead

I've done the same for shows, waiting until the whole thing can be shotgunned X3 I will be doing a full edit/trim, yes! It shouldn't drastically change, it'll be more of a clean-up...but not going to lie, it'll take awhile, so you might have more of a wait >.> I salute your patience and dedication!! And thanks!

It’s such a bittersweet moment to read this. There’s so much here to enjoy, so many fantastic moments and delightful engagements. Even the location names got a giggle out of me when they popped up. But despite all that, this is the ending, the culmination of all your hard work and was it ultimately worth it? The short answer? ABSOLUTELY. The long answer? Well, let’s get into it. At the conclusion of the last part, my favourite character dominated the day and I was delighted. There was so much to love, so much potential to come. At the start of this mega document (part 10) I was eager to learn what was going to happen. And I have to say, you did not disappoint at all. Interspersed within the tremendous amounts of growth, were fantastic snippets of story and plot progression. From Oguma’s planning, to T and her pals working in tandem, even across the giants as spread out as some of them were. It was incredible to watch them come together or inch nearer as points converged and threads tied up. The mention of everyone evacuating the planet and the zealotry that went with it was a nice little addition. Delightful to see reactions as people craved that which they’d seen firsthand. Gouhin’s attitude is always such a mood, love how he was styled here. Obviously Melon is and will always be my favourite and the way he worked here was so good. His attitude and how his thoughts changed with his size and whoever he was up against. Even against an obstacle that should have stopped him in his tracks. It had me on the edge of my seat, I was almost ready to accept that he was done for. But then it just kept going and going and GOING! And then, as we move into the finale, I remembered the poll. I remembered what you said. So I was surprised to see a certain stag again. But it made everything just that much more fun! An obstacle to overcome and what a way to overcome it! And then with the rock, I saw what you were thinking, I knew what was coming. I loved that everyone couldn’t understand what Legosi was thinking until it was made clear. And again, Melon was a delight. Aside from a comment about “getting him off” (I tend to lean toward his lack of sexual appetite that the manga makes apparent), he was done to a tee. When the sizes got so astronomical my head was hurting thinking about them, I delighted in every mention of him. Even when the twist came about, when everything rose above him, I didn’t feel disappointed. I felt…respected. I’ve made it no secret that Melon is everything to me. And you’ve said you thought of me when doing his previous growth, and this? This felt like you thought of me again and gave him a wonderful sendoff. Now, in the aftermath, this was where I think your creativity really shone through. The growth and battling was nice, but the adjustment of Legosi Life was another delight. The resettling and new way of life got a few laughs out of me (especially with the place names as mentioned earlier). But then, at the very end, amidst everything, that moment of introspection, of longing and the events that transpired. Meeting those friends again, even if only for a brief moment. That was sweet. And as for those final words in the story? I can think of no better way to end it. I’ve read everything you’ve done, and I know there’s major biases in play here but, this is the best thing I’ve ever read from you. The characterisation is on point, but silly in just the right way. The growth was wonderfully detailed and your words and writing matched the chaos as it unfolded. It has been a wild ride and it feels like we’ve come so far from that first chapter with Jack all those months ago. Bravo, DNA, bravo. I will take this story in its entirety and keep it close to my heart for eternity. If I could I’d put it on my Beastars shelf alongside the actual manga. And finally, thank you. Just from the bottom of my heart, thank you for sticking with this through everything you’ve gone through. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. I appreciate it more than you’ll ever come to know. Now make sure you take a good, long, rest, you earned it! P.S. Launch me into the Melon Quadrant. Please and thank you.

Dnapalmhead

*readies slingshot* That's a relief! I did think of you whenever Melon reared up, so I wanted to keep him as formidable as possible, up to the last second, without any villain decay (which unfortunately is super-common, even in great works) >> **SORT OF SPOILERS, TO OTHERS READING** Hehe, that's fair! If it helps, Melon said it more as a straight-up insult, it's just externally aimed X3 If anything, his pushing beyond the beyond at the end is *technically* what undid him, but I wanted him to stay thoughtful about it and keep aware of himself, even as he strained, and even knowing he was ultimately shown mercy, like in the manga. I'm really glad you enjoyed it overall! It's been one of the most fun ones to work on, even with the creeping dread that my type of cosmic lunacy would inevitably butt up against how (comparatively) grounded the manga is. That world had to be left behind, in the end, so it was a challenge trying to keep it feeling like a chapter of Beastars...eh, that was just on serious overdrive XD Cheers! Thanks for all the feedback throughout, it helped a considerable deal!

Saatchi & Co

It does help actually! It being an insult geared towards their efforts and his own selfish desires fits a lot better in my head. Knowing you had me in mind when you wrote Melon makes those moments feel all the more special. Thank you for that, I’ll treasure them especially! And hey, even with my own Beastars sequence / story / saga, I had to cross it over two whole universes. Just because it’s out there in the cosmos doesn’t make it any less grounded! And besides, you brought it back down to earth at the end. What’s more grounded than that? I’m not a big commenter, but when it came to this, I had to speak up. And there’s every chance I’ll speak more in the future because of this series! But I’m glad the feedback helped, it’s always nice to have it!

Thomas Regel

At the end of chapter 3 the reporter says there are 10 giants citywide, but I only counted 7 so far: Jack (although he is still inside the building), Legoshi, Louis, Haru, Mizuchi, Juno, and Cosmo. Is this an error, or foreshadowing because of the nonlinear story telling?

Dnapalmhead

I'll double-check in the edit! It *should* be due to the feed coming in a later point in the day, though, yup ^^

Blizzard Wuffy

I just wrapped this up and my word it really lived up fully to the hype!!! Just fantastic work from you as always big blue! You really found a way to basically press every single button of mine in these last two parts, so many great moments!

Dnapalmhead

Glad to hear! =3 *mashes the whole keyboard* It's easier when your finger is tree-sized <3

Ryuakira

I was finally able to read these last chapters, and damn...things REALLY escalated at the end there, but man was it such a great read and everything's been wrapped up nicely! Well...perhaps not exactly as nicely as some of the characters were hoping, but still! What a truly colossal task this seemed to be though bro, so major congratulations on completing it!

Dnapalmhead

I tried not to get them any bigger XDDDD But thanks so much, bro! I know it can be a fine line between good crazy and too-far crazy, I tried to keep this one juuuust on the good side >.> Happy you enjoyed it, thanks for reading it! <3

Ryuakira

Well with us who LOVE to make things bigger, I'm sure you had restrain yourself a certain degree X///P And you're very welcome bro, its been loads of fun reading this stories you put together, I of course love the visual growths but being able to read them...getting a mental idea of the growth, it does paint quite the picture <3
