1st thought: If Ericka transforms when she is under stress why on earth would she become a cop? 2nd thought: Shut up! Shut up! This is a plot device to justify transformations! Just enjoy it!

I think the story justification is that, after the accident that gave her powers, Ericka found her increased energy and confidence gave her the boost she needed to become a police officer. Only after she put on the blue did her 'curse' manifest itself whilst she was saving some people from a terrorist attack. But also yes, hulking out of uniforms is a kink! 😋
