Half- term holiday last week and an unwell child this week mean I haven't been able to get much done. I've been focusing on some family- friendly projects, commissions, Red Alert pages and a little bit of the naughty stuff 😉

The detail on that version of (trypticon?) that you’ve drawn is a god damned work of art!

Is that a female version of the cactus villain from the Dandy I spot in there? That’s the sort of random half background thing you draw that will inevitably become one of your off kilter side projects…

Woah, good spot! That piece is a commission about a 1930s pulp heroine who wears a mask and rides a motorcycle. She's like The Spirit meets The Rawhide Kid. I decided to give her a little rogues gallery there in the background and, as a Dandy reader in my youth, thought about that weird cactus dude who sometimes antagonised Desperate Dan.

That's Zoidzilla and those are Zoids! My son was asking me what I liked to draw when I was a kid, and I remembered that I loved to get a sheet of A1 paper and draw epic Zoids battles. Zoids were build-from-a-kit wind-up toys that were quite popular here in the UK back in the 80s. I thought I'd have a stab at drawing them as a (sort of) grown-up. Hellishly difficult to draw, but fun!

I don’t think I’ve seen you do the FF before!

Good work. I can't wait to see your comics. Mostly She Hulk 1982 best fight. 😍👏💚💚💚🩷

That's Secret Wars! This year is the 40th anniversary of me buying my first superhero comic: the UK weekly that reprinted the Secret Wars miniseries. Although superhero books didn't really become a thing for me until I was a little older, I collected Secret Wars and it made a powerful impression on me.

Nice Action Comics #1 homage

Is Hailey being sucked away? No...

Strollonthewildside

Ha it was a niche but appreciated reference. Looking forward to cactus girl (cactina?) joining a super team with kinga and cyberia amongst the stranger transformations you’ve tried your hand at. Maybe if the unstoppables are the manic verses avengers this would be like its equivalent of the defenders.

Strollonthewildside

Yeah I can imagine that must have taken ages to perfect but the impressiveness definitely radiates!
