Red Dawn...

Page 1: Decent drawing on this page, but the unfortunate juxtaposition of Betty's knees in panel one and her head in panel two really bothers me. It's homage time again in the last three panels-- they reference the transformation scene in Savage She-Hulk issue 7 where Jen goes hulk whilst being menaced by alligators.

Page 2: The money shot! As I mentioned before, these were the first images I drew in the entire project. I was so happy with how it turned out-- Betty's legs look great in those bottom three panels-- that I wanted to draw a little lead in to it. That became a thing I'm still working on twelve years later!

Page 3: I felt like this was my Mona Lisa of TF sequences at the time. It's pretty cool still, although I might do a more tame version of it for normie consumption after I've finished the rest of the comic. I'd probably colour the hair a bit better now, I think. When I draw the next Betty to Red-Shulk sequence in the comic, I fully intend to blow this out of the water!

Pages 4 and 5: One thing that I love about these pages, and something that I will certainly try to recapture in future pages, is the sassiness of the Red She-Hulk. She's a different personality entirely from the reserved and serious Betty. I was pretty pleased with how I drew her body language here, particularly when she's mocking the other She-Hulk, which instantly provides a kind of rivalry. She's funny, but a bit meaner and snarkier than her green counterpart, and she's also got an edge to her, a hot temper that explodes at a moments notice.

Page 6: I can't remember where I got the idea for this page from, but I remember having it in my head for ages before I got around to drawing it. It kind of works, although I feel like the interior of the AIM baseship has way too much stuff in it compared to how it looks on the outside! Maybe it's bigger on the inside like the TARDIS or something.
