It was a very odd experience for me to watch this, and difficult really to separate my expectations as an FMG artist and an MCU fan. I've seen this origin story a million times across many comics, fan-fictions and even fan films. It's so well worn to me, it's almost boring. How does this latest and most glossily produced take stack up? Really well, I thought. The droll banter between Bruce and Jen is great, and the 'Hulk boot camp' was fun. The humour feels a bit forced from time to time, which feels odd considering quite a few Marvel films work very well as action comedies (Thor Ragnarok, portions of Avengers Endgame and Civil War. Spider-Man Homecoming is laugh out loud funny). Really though--let's address the elephant in the room. Is it the kind of thing we have all been dreaming of? Well... Sort of. Not quite. Ish. Let's be real--Nobody is ever, ever going to make a She-Hulk show for middle-aged dudes to get off to (aaand... Sorry! Nor should they). This is the best She-Hulk TV show we were ever going to get. The Brigitte Nielsen film was just going to have her turn green without growing. The Mitzi Kapture pilot was going to have her turn into an orange-painted version of volleyball player Gabriella Reece. Both would likely have sucked and would probably not have featured any growth transformation sequences. The Disney show is smart, well produced and actually featured some pretty decent process (that final shot of Jen's legs de-hulkifying at the end of episode 1? Spare my blushes, Disney). I'll take this over that godawful porno they made ten years ago any day.

If that is the best we are going to get... I shivver to think about the worst. Sorry, Manic. It is not that I don't respect your opinion. It is just that... The Disney She-Hulk show is really off. It missed the mark real bad. However, you said this isn't made for us, didn't you? COULDN'T AGREE MORE! It was NOT made for us, long-time fans of comics! Which begs the question: WHO was it made to? Also, was that porno really that bad? Sure, it had no FMG and the acting was asinine, but at least that Invisible Woman was hot as hell.

I feel that eventually they will “Hulk Up” Jennifer as either an animated “What If” story or in-universe… if only to prove she “doesn’t have to be that way “….

Well said I also have the same sentiments, I’m also waiting for all episode to come out however I still feel as though her first tf should’ve been dramatic to me it happened way to fast.

I think your expectations were unrealistically high which is funnier to me than the show.

The best we can get ? It's probably true. Given the various (and high) expectations around, the show could only disappoint. The cast is probably its main strength but other aspects like the story and humor are... unequal. In fact, I have the feeling that the showrunner didn't decide which tone he wanted for the show. Besides, they throw some interesting ideas like the possibility of a Blonski vs US Government trial before abandoning them. :(

Yeah, much like the Shulkie Marvel comics of the past 40 years, I grin and try to look for the best parts, knowing that they pretty much chose to diverge from the ideal Jekyll&Hyde female-Hulk premise in 1981 so that all conflicts have to be external, destroying the biggest attraction the general public feels for the male Hulk. Obviously it didn't hurt her popularity over the years much. Disney's Jen doesn't seem to have any negative effect when growing big, green, and powerful, other than her annoyingly constant state of denial as her overall character trait. That being said, I do enjoy the show, especially the guest stars, and when she points them out as guest stars. But one thing that has been a mainstay with this character: eventually her series will get cancelled, and our community may be the only ones who truly understand why.
