In tthe final image at the end of the credits, the position of their heads, along with the crook of Shane's arm as he touches Ilya's face, forms an almost perfect ❤️ . A subtly beautiful way to end the season.

There are Six books in the original series. The sixth book is a continuation of Shane and Illia’s story. I’m guessing season two will be based on that. There are three other story lines, along with Kip and Scott. They all live in the same time frames, involve other hokey players, and there is cross overs in into each other’s story line. We may have to wait until 2027. Know one expected it would be such a huge success. They have to create a script, hire new people, and then film and edit it. Your reviews are great.

In a recent interview author Rachel Reid mentioned that most of season 2 would be based on book 6 The Long Game, but because it takes place in Ottawa at the time Ilya is their captain, book 5 Role Model would VERY probably be included in the narrative, much like book I Game Changer became the narrative for episode 3 of the show.

In the book Shane had come out privately to some of his teammates a short while before this episode. Then Hayden guessed he was with Rozanov (Hayden was very pissed). Then they were found out by his dad at the cottage (exactly like in the show), so the parents were the last to know. The team switch and charity plan take place as told in the show.

Yuna getting up and stepping outside: she’s overwhelmed by the realization that for all these years she had no idea because she had made ‘safe’ assumptions and just checked a box in the Shane Hollander Plan, not bothering to really care about her son’s sentimental and sexual life. Very asian reserve. Never peek or poke into other people’s intimate lives. And now it hits her that as a mother she failed her son.

Yes, most visible as the credits roll. At that point so many easter eggs planted by Jacob have been found, I was unsure if this one was intentional or just a happy fluke !

Despite the drama at the end it was the most feel good episode of any queer show I’ve seen. I mean, I’ve loved the endings in Heartstopper, Young Royals, RW&RB but this: chef’s kiss !

For sure- the whole episode was so blissful I was bracing myself for the conflict- and when it came it still just resolved quickly and resulted in more bliss! I think the trauma of Young Royals made me so skeptical 😂 I actually was so appreciative of these end credits with them driving because the happy ending we were finally rewarded with in YR could’ve used those few extra moments in the car driving off 💕
