This incarnation of the Doctor has learned so much since S8. He's much better at helping his companion through seeing people die, and much better in how he handled passing the decision making responsibility on to his companion. Great outfits in this one. Watching the Doctor punch a racist will never get old.

this ep is where the true divide between Ten purists and Twelve stand formed, bc as much as I'm a diehard Ten fan (having grown up w him being my Doctor and being a glutton for nostalgia), Ten took Martha back to a time period in which she received racially motivated comments from Shakespeare (regardless of "comedy", she DID express discomfort) and Ten's whole answer to her "avoiding being carted off as a slave" was to "just walk around like you own the place, that's what I do" 🤡 AND didn't correct any OUTRIGHT racism when he was "human" and saw how Martha was treated in the Human Nature eps 🤡 meanwhile Twelve KNOCKS A RACIST OUT CLEAN...there's no contest there I fear 🤣 but aside from that, this is a wonderful standalone ep and the OUTFITS are EATING !!!!!! so glad you enjoyed this one and Bill and Twelve's dynamic developing - she really is such a gem of a companion!! the question remains as to whether you're strapped in enough for the rest of this series 👀🤭
