I love this movie so much, it’s probably one of my favorites, It made me cry and smile which are things I look for in a good movie 💖 and I loved every single song, which is rare for me I’m glad you liked it!

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

Thank you so much for reacting to this phenomenal and beautiful movie I love so much!!! I love musicals and I love Hugh Jackman, so I knew that I would absolutely love this movie when I first heard about it. However, I never expected to feel such emotion and joy, and to love it so, so much. I even cried a lot too when I first saw this movie and every time I've watched it since too. I'm so happy you loved it so much and felt so much from it like you're meant to. Hugh Jackman of course is phenomenal as he always is in his movies, especially in the musicals he's performed in. And on top of him, Zac Efron, Zendaya, Michelle Williams, Keala Settle, etc... they are all phenomenal. Now... Hugh Jackman plays P.T. Barnum, who was very real and the man who first created the circus. And he was the greatest showman to have ever lived as far as entertaining people and making them happy. And he married his wife Charity and together they had two daughters. Jenny Lind was also a real life person and famous opera singer. While this movie might lead some people to believe that there was almost relationship between P.T. Barnum and Jenny Lind, in real life this wasn't true. There was never an affair between P.T. Barnum and Jenny Lind. And I believe this movie does a pretty good job depicting what really might have happened between them, because Phineas loved his wife very much Also... I am so happy that this movie clarifies that P.T. was all about trying to make a better life for himself, but also his family. Sadly, his drive came out of desperation to make himself someone more than he was, when he was always someone special. Sadly... he lost sight of what was most important to him for a little while, but he found his way back to his family and those he loved within his circus... his extended family. And in the end, Phineas found redemption that brought him together again with both of his families. His wife and daughters, and his circus family. P.T. Barnum truly loved those he found to bring into his show and they were his family too. As for Phillip Carlyle and Anne... they are fictional characters, but I love them so much throughout this movie and I absolutely love their love story too. It is so beautiful and I agree with you that their musical number together was absolutely phenomenal and beautiful. From the song, to their voices, and to simply how this number was shot and filmed. Absolutely beautiful. And then... that last song Hugh Jackman sings before the final performance... From Now On. I absolutely love this song too. It's another of my favorites and it again makes me cry. His redemption is beautiful. From Now On, This is Me. Rewrite the Stars, The Other Side, and The Greatest Show are all my favorite songs within this incredible movie, as are all the rest. Honestly... it's impossible for me to choose just one or two favorites. They're all sensational and just incredible. I had to buy the CD because I absolutely love them all so much. And with the song, The Greatest Show... what a phenomenal way to begin and end the movie as well. Again... Hugh Jackman is phenomenal and one of the greatest showmans in acting. I love him to pieces. And on top of it all... he's gorgeous too. :) And then we have Keala Settle as Lettie, the Bearded Lady who comes out singing one of the most emotional songs and the big anthem from this movie. I cry every time when she sings about being who she and her family truly are and not being afraid to stand up against the crowd who mock and ridicule them, even so much so to the point that they attack them and burn down their home, nearly killing Phillip. Not Phillip nearly being killed because he is a fictional character, but the rest... this was all true. Barnum's first circus building was burned down by an angry mob because they didn't like him bringing together the people they saw as freaks. And this is how Barnum came up with the idea to bring his show back by having it performed in a tent. It's incredible, because despite the haters' best efforts, Barnum and his family came back stronger than ever before and eventually everyone came to love the circus until it eventually died just a few years ago, which is really sad. I wish that I could have had the chance to see a real circus show. It would have been amazing. Sadly, this was the way of the world in these earlier days in the times this movie was set in. People hated others for being different whether they were black, dark skinned, gay, albino, or had deformities like these people within the circus had and the only kind of work they could get was in the circuses. Thank goodness for people like P.T. Barnum who saw them as more and loved them despite what others hated them for. He gave them a family and home. I admire him very much. And I absolutely love his famous quote shown in the very end of the movie... "The noblest art is that of making others happy." Absolutely beautiful. :) Thank you again, so much for this entertaining and phenomenal reaction, Jay!! I truly love this movie and I had so much fun watching it again with you as you see it for the first time. And I'm so happy you love it like I do. I hope you will watch more musicals in the future because they're all just so much fun. And there are lots of other phenomenal movies out there for you to enjoy as well. I can't wait for many more movie reactions and Once Upon a Time reactions from you to come!!! So, until next time, my friend... As always, you're amazing!! :)

I love this movie so much. Even over two years later, I still have the soundtrack on repeat often. This was a passion project of Hugh Jackman's, and it really shows. It's an incredible cast. I hadn't heard of Keala Settle before, who plays the bearded woman, but apparently she's a star on Broadway. If you can, there are two videos on YouTube you should watch (and react to?). If you search Greenlight Greatest Showman, there's two short recordings of two of the songs in the show during the Greenlight showcase (which is where they perform the show for the network to get it approved). One showcasing Keala Settle where she is really amazing, and another emotional one with Hugh Jackman. Thank you for reacting to this movie! I'm excited for movie Mondays :)

Been a while since I've seen this movie, so rewatching it with you was wonderful ^_^ It's a really, really great movie! Hits you in all the feels, and you're right, the soundtrack is fantastic! My fave song of the movie is without a doubt Never Enough, just because it's SO emotional and raw and beautiful! Rebecca Fergusson who portrays Jenny Lind isn't actually the one singing tho, the vocals are by Loren Allred, gorgeous voice! Looking forward to next monday! Question: Will you be taking the other movie choices from the poll last week (and coming weeks) into the future? I guess it's maybe something you could try out over time and see what feels best both for yourself and us as your patrons :) A suggestion maybe could be to bring the one with the second most votes into next week's poll? :)

Josh

Question? Are you taking suggestions for Movie Monday Reactions? Because I got a good one I think you would love. You been reacting to Charmed and seem to love it so I suggest (if you have not already seen it) you react to the movie Practical Magic. It’s one of the best movies out there I think and I just know you would have a lot of fun watching it!!! Hope you are well alnd staying safe. Much love my friend!

Good idea with the one that got the 2nd most votes in last weeks poll could go into next weeks poll.

Practical magic was in the first poll last week and I think it got 3rd place in the voting. His new suggestion post will come up today or tomorrow, so you can suggest something there.
