LOL at Helvran’s diffidence in asking Marcus to go on an adventure and help him slay and loot a powerful enemy. Next chapter, I predict Helvran will ask Celia if she wants to go to a fun happy party with a live band and interesting magical potions to try, if she can maybe find the time and isn’t doing anything else more pressing, in which case he might ask someone else, no pressure to agree, it might not be her kind of thing after all …

Thanks for the chapter. Nice to see Marcus making the expected teacher picks, while he and Gaius continue to fail understanding each other. At least he seemed to eventually get a clue about why Gaius was wary of him, even if he doesn't quite get it. Besides that, it should have been obvious the academy would end up with a bunch of oddballs for teachers. Marcus isn't fond of hidebound and excessively orthodox methods and few were willing to go work in the middle of nowhere. Apart from spies. So he got the best he could. And they all seem to have their quirks, with the guys being the most normal ones. Hostia might actually be some powerful eccentric mage living quietly and hiding her true strength with her passion for alchemy, while Sabina is your typical proud and barely grown woman who thinks she knows better than everyone else and is still learning how to work with others. At least she gets along with the kids, even if she's a nepo hire. Marcus finally handling the loot from the vault and showing the apple to the Sacred Oak was quite interesting too. Seems like it's a lot to digest, but contains a wealth of knowledge too valuable to pass up. He'll have to work his way up to it. And now Helvran has invited Marcus to fight a powerful necromancy when he was bored and at a loose end and thought it was a unreasonable request, when he clearly jumped at the chance to do something. So we're gonna get some action.

Late to the conversation. First things first, amazing chapter as usual. Well worth the wait. Questions arise: 1. Did the Sacred Oak try to copy any logos from the fruit? That what Marcus did on chapter 33. 2. What can you learn from heritage tables? As far as I can remember from the text it includes spells, logos and foundational techniques. 3. If making an heritage tablet is not that difficult for Marcus (I mean relatively easy if not fast to collect the materials), why is he not asking the Sacred Oak for an heritage tablet too? Marcus can provide the materials, the Soul Seed technique takes care of the sacrifice part that makes it hard on practitioners, and that would give Marcus more wood logos (among others) to advance. As per Marcus himself, his two main gaps come from lacking enough Wood logos and lacking soul power, soul power will come with the soul amethyst and time (plus soul seeds returning), wood logos would come with the Sacred Oak tablet and absorbing the fruit. Then he could even make his own tablet, let the Sacred Oak benefit from the logos there contained, plus fulfilling his promise to Great Tree Academy, he could probably advance rank before making the tablet, so it is even more benefitial to the Great Tree and his own students.

2. The primary thing to learn from a heritage record is the user's foundational technique. That is the big thing, because it acts as a backbone (a literal foundation) that everything rests on. It makes all manner of advancement easier, because you can consult with a record of a high-rank user to see what worked for them, and basically have a working example. The maker can also add spells, magic abilities, and other stuff, but that's just a bonus. 3. If Sacred Oak wanted to help Marcus in that way, he wouldn't need to make any heritage records to do so. He could just do it.

Thanks for the reply! But why then Marcus is not asking the Sacred Oak for more? Numerous threats abound. Extra logos and spell knowledge could literally save Marcus, his students, his friend and allies lives.

I'm trying to imply that Sacred Oak isn't *willing* to help in that manner. It is willing to help out to an extent, but there are limits. The reason Marcus is not asking Sacred Oak for big favors is that he knows it would be denied (and he's right).

Now I get you, for some reason, I expected the Sacred Oak to be more interested in Marcus development. According to the Sacred Oak, everything that Marcus learns will eventually come to him, and as far as I am aware, Marcus is the strongest/highest potential all people he has had in a long time, if not ever. Nice to know that the Sacred Oak can share Logos, is this a Sacred Oak property or something that Rank 8+ mages can do?

All mages that have logos can do that. Basically any rank 3+ mage can do it, though for lower ranks it would be less convenient since they can't manifest a spirit.

1>It's arguably better than it, but more dangerous, as it contains memories of the maker that may heavily influence or even rewrite your mind if you absorb too much of them or too quickly or insufficiently skillfully. Whereas a heritage tablet is more modest in scope, but largely risk free. 3>If they are related or similar, you can adjust your foundational technique to be more expansive and potent. Obviously there is little to no benefit if, for instance, you're studying an animal-related technique as an elemental technique user. But if you are a user of a Soul Tree Technique, and you stumble upon another tree-centric foundational technique, you might glean a few insights that help you refine your own foundational technique.

does it mean theoretically you can start with a nich foundation technique but slowly expand upon it,like starting with fire,than lava,magma then going toward ground type,as magma is connected with both so use it as bridge, with enough time ,new knowledge to kind of have everything if you have enough luck,or is ir limited by what you did at rank 5 upgrade,and you cannot slowly get everything ,or is there a limit? Realistically, if you started out with a niche technique, it's always going to be a fairly niche. However, what you describe is theoretically possible, if the stars align just right (if you're basically a xianxia protagonist, with all the luck and plot armor involved).

is your current story( ZENITH OF SORCERY) be long one? or will it be short like the prevoius one,where you have the MC begining journey but nothing about the war that was about to start,or why the gods left their planet,or the MC remaining weaker than even dragons,forget about angels or god,or those other creature(the ones god sealed,which energy was being used to run the time machine), in this story will you include the boarder war and conlusion ,or will marcus story will remain confined within the planetary conflict mostly and he will remain minor character in the boarder universal war

Never heard of MoL described as short before, but yes, Zenith of Sorcery is going to be similar in scope to my previous story. I don't intend to keep Marcus strictly confined to one planet, but he definitely isn't going to conclusively solve all the setting problems or become the most powerful entity in existence. I like it that way better, and its also more practical to write.

by short i actually meant that it only included a small chapter of characters life,forgot his name but he seemed to have lot of potential,and the story did not specify who would become his love interest,or what became his sister future(wether she became a mage or not) thats why it seemed like there would be a second book to me,especially why the gods left and the part related to it seemed weird thats why,would this book also contain conclusion that would left to readers to guess?
