Hello!

Well, this has been an interesting week. Who'd have thought this latest episode would turn out to be the most controversial yet? Aizen vs Yhwach has been long-awaited, and the anime version has split the community down the middle - so let's have a look, while I give my take along the way...

Enjoy!

Its understandable to not Like the fight itself, but to send death threats to the studio is totally uncalled for

I think alot of people (especially newer fans) truly forgot how short and rushed this fight was in the manga. There is only 1 chapter of actual combat and theres no time to linger on anything. The issue for me is that I cannot understand why it got no extensions AT ALL. I wasn't expecting Aizens Bankai, or for the fight to get an entire episode extension. But I definitely expected they'd expand on only 1 chapter of content especially since this is probably the most anticipated fight of the arc. We saw how amazing the new anime extensions were recently which makes it worse and in earlier cores much less important fights that weren’t so great in the manga gets extensions. Just some extra minutes of new content of Yhwach and Aizen duking it out before Ichigo showed up would’ve been great, im not asking for a blood chains 2.0 here. If a fight is heavily rushed, flawed and has 2 of the most favorite characters it makes total sense to expect just something Im holding Aizen he will return in ep49 but its hard to say. If he doesn’t appear at all that would be a huge huge disappointment and let down

I have to say that Ryukens scene was the most disappointing for me.It feels dull, it could have been extended and it needed to have much stronger emotional impact just based of what the arrow represents. Then there’s Ishinn in the back arms crossed being useless when he could easily serve a role in being present for ichigo in one of his lowest moments. It’s an issue that had to be tackled more earlier in the cour tbh. But I hope they play a role in the final fight against yhwach

I'm confident that Kubo wouldn't leave this part of the fight untouched if he doesn't plan to expand on the fight in the next two episodes

I’d loved this episode and I feel like im having a stroke bc these bleach “fans” deluded themselves to thinking aizen solo defeats ywach, no its a quick fight and im sure he will do more before the end….this makes me embarrassed to be a fan in this community sometimes, like why are sending kubo death threats again????

I don't know if having 10 episode cour was the studio's choice or if they couldn't get more air time, but if the latter is true it's still impressive how much new content they managed to fit in. I think that people took the Aizen vs Yhwach extention (and some even AIzen's Bankai) pretty much for granted and that's why the indignation amongst the community is so massive. Maybe you've come to the same conclusion. I'm writing this halfway through the video.

It somehow was less interesting than the manga. In the anime Ryuken just handed Uryu the arrow at least in the manga Ryuken fired the arrow head near Uryu, and we got to see his unique bow.😭

2026-10-06 11:00 1. Good video keep it up. 2. Aizen vs Yhwach is a disappointment and its sad that so many other fights have been made longer/done better yet Aizen received nothing. 3. I dont believe ep 49 and 50 needed to be delayed. I think its what most studios do. They delay it for even more hype. This cour took an extra year to come out and the first 3 weeks of the cour were episodes were already done and shown in theaters. I doubt they needed more time. 4. Lastly i hope there are plans for Aizen in episode 49 if not then kubo really let me down but it doesnt take away from bleach greatness. 5. Lastly this is cope but what if Aizen wasnt sealed away at the end of the arc. Whose to say Aizen didnt cast Kyōka Suigetsu and they sent some random person into muken by mistake.

I found it very disappointing but I’m willing to wait until the series is done before I feel particularly deeply over it. 46 was disappointing but 47 brought it back for me

I'm absolutely in love with the final cour so far and even really enjoyed this episode despite wanting to see more, but it is starting to feel like everything that gets expanded upon is having negative concequences on anything that doesn't. In the Manga it felt like Aizen's moment against Yuha took up about as much page space as Ichigo going Horn of Salvation (could be wrong though) and now with basically every other important plot beat expanded upon it leaves this fight feeling significantly less impactful than it did in the Manga. It's like now two scenes that felt equal in impact (to me) have now been adapted into arguably the best Bleach episode ever made and arguably the least impactful instance of Aizen actually swinging his blade around in the entire anime. Additionally the way he has shown up in the marketing for the cour did a lot to mess with people's expectations too. He says the yokoso line and is shown fighting Yuha *in the trailer* for the season, we see goryutenmetsu in the opening and we see Aizen standing free in the ending. Almost everything Aizen does in this episode was shown ahead of time, contributing to the feeling that something unexpected was supposed to happen with him. Instead, for the first time in Bleach history, Aizen was predictable. That being said? Aizen is at his most impactful when he's not expected by anyone and we all knew how that Manga scene was gonna go, even the anime onlys have likely heard the yokoso line. If you want to break the internet with Aizen, having him do what everybody expects when everybody expects him to do it would ultimately betray what makes Aizen so enigmatic just for fanservice. If anything is gonna happen with him, he's gotta do something nobody expects when nobody sees it coming.

There's actually a lot of people pushing back against the dumb complaints of this episode at this point. The AI comments are clearly overblown. Also I'm completely convinced that like half of the negative takes are from people who don't even know that this isn't the final battle of the anime. I fully believe Aizen will continue in the fight next episode. We Prob won't see aizen bankai tho lol. Only problem I have is that we need to wait a month for next episode.

Only place I disagree is where you said that people saying fans should be grateful that it even got adapted are in the wrong. These comments aren’t saying you can’t criticize the anime. These comments are towards people who say that the whole TYBW needs to be readapted again or who are sending death threats to VAs, Kubo and the animators. These people don’t respect the time and effort that these people put in. You can criticize all you want but saying stupid polarizing shit and threatening those involved is just ungrateful!

Calvin

Also not really pointing out just you as a Bleach creator but there were also way too many anime commentators hyping up this fight posting wild theories and drumming up hype for views and clicks about Aizen and how he’s potentially getting a bankai. I do think you are more calm with your content than other creators so you’re more in the clear but too many people used wild Aizen theories and hype to drum up views.

Are they improving the quality or are they making some changes? It feels unlikely that they would realise a week before the episode was due to release that the quality wasn't on point.

You make a good point. What if the delay is to foster more hype for the finale? Maybe they will update a few things because of the backlash over episode 48. Regardless, I will leave it up to Kubo and his team. I have loved this anime/manga for over twenty years. So, I fully trust in the vision of its creator.
