Been holding my breathe for this vid, genuinely blew me away

LegoKnightAlpha

It’s been a ride lady’s and gentleman. We are here at the end now

SkeithDE

I have been waiting for this reaction!

Big Tex

Been waiting all day lol

Stuart Workman

Honestly cannot wait to watch this reaction! This episode was more incredible than I thought. Love how the fall of the quincy king was four key factors

Juanthemon

Grimmjow THE GOAT🐐 if he would’ve devoured Harribel would we have seen his segunda etapa maybe??

jonathan barnes

Lessgooooo (ps dads just having a smoke)

Frank Franklin

Been in eager anticipation of this one. Dying to know your thoughts on it!

Sevchaenkov

At least the Fullbringers did a little helping but I guess the dads are just watching the world end 😭

afz3003

I have mixed feelings, while i appreciate having more characters in the build up and contributing to Ywach's defeat, all the beings of the respective worlds, i cant help feeling like there could have been more, but im glad its more than the manga, just wish we got to see Isshin and Ryuken do something but oh well. id give this ep a 8/10

Matthew Richson

Yeah my only nitpick about this episode.

Shane The Prodigy

Really good episode. I was hoping aizen would come back and contribute but kubo really said fuck him. Idk how they can hype up aizen like this and tease him then do absolutely nothing with him other than a 1:1 of the manga. So many ppl got extended fights and scenes but Aizen just get 1 shotted and when we see him again he will be in a chair. It just sucks man. Overall amazing arc and good episode. I just wish kubo didnt do aizen dirty

Lucas Margroff

Also when halibel told Grimmjow to devour her I started losing it, and immediately was questioning the post tybw design but was so happy it was just bait 😮‍💨

Apeto

The Harribel and Grimmjow duo was unexpectedly a massive highlight for me

Rox Unlimited

We get ganju and barabara but no dads???? Like Yhwach killed their wives. WHERE ARE THEY????

Robert Wilson

IMO the Dads coming in to save the day is kinda getting in the way of the new generation, and would probably take away a lot from Ichigo and Uryu (neccessarily). Ganju holding it is fine, he has a cool few lines, Nell is hilarious, and Iba would have nothing to do otherwise, plus all the captains were busy. It's not like they held it for long, either. As for Shino (and the R&D Department) I think these are phenomenal character moments. The reason I can understand why you don't care about them is they didn't do anything in the manga, but I think seeing them go through this from the eyes of a low-ranking soul reapers is actually really cool, and it also plays on the generational theme. Not having Kenpachi makes sense on the lore side (he was the most seriously injured and was unconscious), and he crosses over with Ichigo and Grimjow as characters running at Yhwach to do melee strikes. Kisuke got a scene that proved pivotal, I'm fine with that, and it maybe makes his treatment of Yoruichi a bit better if he's willing to do a similar thing to Grimjow. Aizen not getting up is clearly a conscious choice to focus on Ichigo and Uryu because frankly in-universe Aizen would make the fight much more complicated (since he actually can't die) plus kyokasuigetsu antics in an already packed hectic battle would probably over-complicate things. In short, just enjoy how awesome this is, and how the ones that saved the day are all characters that are going to be relevant in whatever the future of Bleach is. Just be a tad less critical for once, enjoy the ride. :)

Gordon

If you told me at the start of all this that Orihime, Grimmjow, and Ryunosuke all got to "kill" Yhwach, I would have actually thought you lost your mind.

Frank Franklin

I agree with some of the character inclusion choices lmao. Yuki getting a final hit was cute but maybe not the best in-universe really and ofc the dads being omitted is insane I do find it a little bizarre that 45 got all that love animation-wise but the big final battle was a lot spottier. It was a lot more hectic, perhaps to its own detriment imo

jonathan barnes

I like the idea of the new captain and the new generation shingami taking down ywach ..plus tybw started with him being afraid of fighting and dying to him overcoming that fear and helping take down the big bad at the end ...great development for ryunosuke ....from how the Manga started kubo had plans for him but it got tossed to the wayside this is his way of making up for that new generation shingami

Frank Franklin

Hilarious that Renji wasn’t even mentioned lmao

Ariel Alvarado

Look i’m not happy but I can cope with not having aizen BUT WHERE IS RENJI AND THE DADS???

The

Issihin, reyukan and ginjo should have been the ones to hold back the collapse of the three worlds and Aizen should of helped harribel and grimjaw

Jay/Gleeby

I definitely liked it. Regarding the character choices I can only assume Kubo just wanted to leave urahara etc behind is because Thier jobs where done and decided to leave it at that.

Stellar Endurance

Watching this episode, I knew you were gonna be so pissed the dads weren't here, lmao!

Alec Fox

The way I see it with the side characters is less that they're wholly important and more so that the situation demanded any and all chances to slow Yhwach down. It didn't matter if Ganju, Nel, or Iba could realistically stop the domes. It wasn't about them succeeding. As for Ryuunosuke and Shino I think their involvement was more thematic. They arrived at the start of the arc tasked with keeping the town safe and they clearly couldn't do it. So now in the final battle they're able to put themselves in a place where they can make even just a small difference. Ryuunosuke especially. He on his own couldn't do any of what he did, BUT with Kyoraku's help he was able to be in the right place at the right time to do what he was originally tasked with. And that's keeping Karakura town safe. Coming full circle. I do think the dads not being there is a huge let down. Like come on lol

The Bird of Hermes aka D.D.D.D Super-Dimensional Sovereign Emperor Zero Paradox from YuGiOh The Trading Card Game

the problem with huge ensamble battles is always the same, there will always be something that someone feels like is missing. The dad's™ not doing anything is easily the biggest offender there's no doubt about that, but I don't personally mind not showing the other people in Wahrwelt fighting because they still probably were. You just kind of have to pick your spots when showing stuff in these kinds of fights

Derupyer

I like how this felt like everyone fighting with teeth and nails to stop Yhwach. Of course, the moment I didn't saw the dads I knew this wasn't going to be a perfect ending. But overall, I had the eyes open like plates the entire time.

Roundabout

So, I've been thinking. It's almost a 100% that we're going to see Ichibe next week. There is still one thing that still could satisfyingly explain the dads being MIA and that's them going after Ichibe while he is still weak to make sure he does nothing to Ichigo. This would make sense for Isshin at least. I'm calling it now, when Ichibe arrives next week to seal Yhwach, he does so with Engetsu on his throat.

brickonator

This was an episode where I pretty much loved everything they did, but it also was held back by the things it didn't do. And while it was a great moment dramatically to have the arrow hit first, I think it might have made a little more sense if Mimihagi and whatever's in Grimjow to have stunned him first to let the arrow land.

grimmjow

Congratulations on the new channel suck cause im not a one piece fan, wish it was naruto but still ill sub and maybe ypu of all people can get me interested in one piece.

Daniel Smith

The character choices were weird but the overall theme of the weakest characters helping to kill 2 of the 3 yhwach's is cool. Not quite sure how grimmjow wasn't in pieces by the end. Obviously isshin and ryuken are a huge huge miss. Overall it's disappointing that despite all this time this has still felt kinda messy and a bit all over the place but in quite a lovable way. Think you are right satisfied. Just a lot of weirdness.

Gabby

Not only the dads didn't appear even aizen, also renji where the hell is renji 😭

xNico

As an episode, it was really really good, but I agree that there are some questionable choices in terms of people not showing up and a severe lack of answers regarding what Urahara actually did (i'm not expecting this to be answered) and 90% of the added Uryu content not being addressed (this has got to be answered next episode right? Right?). Probably the second best episode of this cour/season for me, after episode 45. Nothing is beating episode 45.

Daniel James Baker

100%, well said. I too would love to have seen Isshin and Ryuken do *something* but you're right ultimately. They did their job and left it to the young bucks to finish the job, Isshin gave up his responsibility as a Soul Reaper a long time ago and made it his job just to support Ichigo. Similarly with Ryuken.

xinj117

I will probably die on this hill, but I truly believe that Zangetsu under the sheath of Ichigo's old Bankai is his Shikai.

TheFallenSmoke

Honestly I don't really mind not seeing the dads - yeah it is weird they didn't do anything meaningful, but they would just take away from their sons fighting. Not everyone can get screentime and I think giving it only to main characters is what made a manga ending feel not inclusive. When the world ends everyone gives their all, not only the big names. I like that they didn't overload the scenes with too much characters too. I loved this, 10/10.

Daniel Smith

I can't help feeling like this ending required something feature length. What we got is so much better than the manga but I can't help feeling it could have been better planned and that is absolutely wild to say given how long everyone involved has had to work this through. I enjoyed the episode a lot but they blew their load with blood chains and orihime and basically the anime has never really reached that height again. There's also so many more questions to answer, some of the choices the anime team has made over who and what we spend our time on since we started going fully off the manga rails have been... Interesting.

TheFallenSmoke

How did they hype up Aizen? I must have completely missed it. Aside from tiktok edits of course... I am personally really happy Aizen was not there, it was not his battle to fight, his arc finished long time ago. Not everyone can be included otherwise it'd be a huge mess.

Sejad Lulic

grimmjow should have eaten harribel there, kinda mad that I knew that wouldnt happen since both have official hell arc designs. Maybe thats foreshadowing and he wil eat her in hell arc, get his segunda etapa, fight hell ulquiorra segunda etapa and finally gets to become the new king of hueco mundo.

Gordon

One thing about the hangup with the dads and the newer generation is that it's also the newer generation's war. Yes, someone like Iba is definitely weaker than Isshin, and someone like Ryunosuke is weaker than Ryuken, but it's still their fight for their survival, and also their obligation as members of a military organization like the Gotei 13. Isshin and Ryuken also already played substantial roles in the final arc. Isshin explaining Ichigo's heritage and what happened to Masaki allows Ichigo to fully understand the core essence of what his powers are and where they come from, giving him access to the true Zanpakuto that would cut Yhwach down. Ryuken giving Uryu the arrowhead that gives Ichigo the opening to Yhwach down plays a similar role. The dads played instrumental roles in giving their sons the powers needed to win the fight, even if they didn't directly participate in it.

Marcos

I do have mixed feelings too. I guess my personal nitpicks are wishing we got to see more power on display from Tensa Zangetsu and the dads to…at least be there for moral support. I know we got blood chains and all, but I really wanted to see more from Tensa before the end. I’m a little disappointed with that, but it was still an epic ending battle despite that.

Marcos

One thing I loved about this finale is that while manga Ywbach only ever talked about ending the world, anime Ywbach literally became the very end of the world that everyone was trying to prevent.

Shane The Prodigy

Hype came from cour one even mr tommo called it out. They give us an aizen scene for absolutely no reason then in almost every teaser / trailer we get teased with more aizen content. The empty chair, the keys, even in the trailer for cour 4 they focus on one of the most popular line in bleach which is" welcome to my soul society " they know how popular he is so they tease and show him as much as possible when they dont need to. Why? To get the fans hyped. If his stroy truly ended like u said then why does the anime feel the need to show him off so much? Its cuz they know their fans and how they feel about aizen. Furthermore you said not everyone can be included in this final fight lol. Yet we have ppl like chad, ganju and the 2 random soul reapers from episode 1 making plays. You cant say its not his battle when its everyones battle . Then proceed to imply every1 else fighting there made sense and aizen not being there is good.

Simon Cliche-Lamoureux

I was crying like a baby for the later part of this episode and for a good 10 minutes after. Personally, I couldn't ask for more. I don't think the dads fighting would have fit narratively speaking, especially Ryuken, who never had that role in the story, he's just not a fighter (in disrespectful terms, he's a pompous coward). He helped in the way he saw fit by developing the stillsilver arrow. As for Isshin, he gave up the fighter role long ago (only briefly bringing it back as best he could to give his son the opportunity to beat Aizen), and from a narrative standpoint, doing something like showing his bankai right in the middle of the series climax wouldn't have made sense.

2026-10-20 09:00 Personally, I don't have a problem with Shino and Yuki getting more spotlight. They're new characters introduced in this arc, so it would be pointless to introduce them, give them some focus, and then have them do absolutely nothing afterward. Plus if new characters don't do anything it gives no reason for people to like these characters in the first place. I'm glad Kubo is giving more niche characters opportunities to contribute instead of constantly focusing on the same popular characters. It keeps things fresh and allows other characters to shine. As for Ganju, Nel, and Iba holding back the Soul King's power, I'm not saying the feat makes no sense, but I'm also not going to blow it out of proportion for powerscaling. They likely only held it back for around 20–30 seconds in real time. They didn't permanently stop it or overpower it completely, so I don't think the feat needs to be taken that far. I understand the complaints about characters like Kenpachi not being involved, but people also need to consider the bigger picture. There are still plenty of injured characters who need to be retrieved and treated, so not everyone can participate in the same fight. and also not everybody's going to be healed considering we don't have many healers. My biggest criticism is Renji's absence. If he's supposed to be accompanying Ichigo, why aren't we seeing him? The absence of Isshin and Ryuken bothers me too, but not nearly as much. I also don't think Grimmjow necessarily needs healing. He was affected by Askin's ability, but he wasn't physically injured beforehand. Once the effects wore off, he was probably fine. Overall, I thought episode 49 was great, even if it wasn't perfect. I understand some of the criticisms, but I also appreciate Kubo giving other characters opportunities to contribute rather than sidelining them in favor of the usual fan favorites.

Maybe a hot take, but I really liked that Ryunosuke landed one of the final blows, given the whole theming behind Aizen’s courage dialogue. Him not backing down even facing down an actual god and Shunsui saying, “spoken like a true soul reaper.” I don’t know, feels kinda full circle to me, I liked it. That being said my main issue is also the dads not showing up 😭😂 but you know what I’m happy so I’ll take it

2026-10-20 09:00 I think the ending is doing something much more interesting than simply assembling every major character for one last battle. To me, this is a changing of the guard: a shift away from the individual hero as the sole agent of victory and toward the power of the collective. The older generation contributes to creating the opening, but the victory belongs to the next generation and to the interconnected efforts of characters across the power hierarchy. The dads help deliver the arrow, Uryū creates the opportunity, and even characters who might ordinarily be dismissed as insignificant contribute to the resolution. No single person could have accomplished this alone. I think it’s also significant and poetic that aside from Ichigo - none of the other war powers are featured. It’s not a 1:1 fight. Yhwatch is too powerful and it takes a collective effort to defeat him. Also, revenge doesn’t work in the bleach universe so I’m not surprised or bothered that the dad’s didn’t show up. If what happens next is a time skip then setting things up for the next generation in this moment is appropriate and solid story building. Yhwach’s defeat is ultimately rooted in his own hubris. He discounts the weaker characters as threats, treating them like gnats rather than people whose actions might matter. His declaration that he has nothing left to say to them embodies that dismissal. He becomes so self-involved with his own god powers that he stops paying attention to the people he considers beneath him. When Uryū tells Ichigo the plan, Yhwach is not paying attention because he’s wrapped up in himself and his thanos moment. He arrogantly counts his victory before it is realized, and that overconfidence ultimately creates the opening that makes his defeat possible. Saying that also reinforces why the ‘nobody’ characters that everyone is so hurt over were able to get close- he didn’t rate them as a threat and just ignored them like gnats. And those gnats all got their moment. Chefs kiss. Don’t count out the little guy- the ones who learned never to give up through their adventures with Ichigo. He never despaired and left a full cast of characters to follow his lead and never despair even at the end moment of the actual end of the world. Haschwalth delivers the defeat as a dream???? Or Yhwach just assumes it is just a dream- which Yhwach then doesn’t pay any mind to. That detail matters to me because Yhwach is presented with the possibility of his own defeat, but he dismisses it rather than taking it seriously. Again hubris. His downfall is not simply that someone manages to overpower him; his own certainty prevents him from accounting for the people and possibilities that could bring him down. And this is precisely why the contributions of the weaker characters matter. The narrative enacts the very principle Yhwach fails to understand: significance cannot be reduced to a hierarchy in which only the strongest individuals matter. The people he dismisses become consequential precisely because he dismisses them. As for Aizen, this isn’t Aizen’s arc. He already had his defining confrontation and was himself defeated, in part, by his own arrogance. His absence from a larger role in this climax doesn’t diminish his importance to Bleach. Giving him another defining intervention here could undermine the changing of the guard and the shift toward collective agency. This is the next generation’s moment, and the ending allows their combined efforts to carry the victory. That is what makes the resolution poetic to me. Yhwach’s hubris isn’t merely a character flaw mentioned along the way; it shapes the circumstances of his defeat. The villain who treats others like gnats is ultimately defeated through the contributions of those he refuses to take seriously, in a victory no individual could have achieved alone.

I absolutely loved the episode. But I am PISSED about Isshin & Ryuken not being present. They could have easily swapped Shino and Isshin and it would make 1050239534698396x more sense. Ryuken could have been fighting or the one "holding back the power" from covering the sky instead of Ganju or something.

Exactly. The heroes don't win because everyone suddenly becomes equally powerful. They win because people with different capabilities recognize different needs and act together. Ganju, Nell, and Iba holding back the veil isn't extraneous to the climax just because they aren't the ones trading blows with Yhwach. It's a parallel form of agency: while others fight the enemy, they address an obstacle that needs addressing. That's also why the changing-of-the-guard reading works. Iba's future as a captain doesn't require him to be the strongest person in this particular scene. His willingness to step up and contribute is entirely compatible with someone who will eventually lead. I thought it was so smart. 10/10

I was crying like a baby during the latter half of this episode and for a good while after. I couldn't ask for more. Personally, I don’t think the dads fighting here would have fit, especially not Ryuken, whose role in the story has never been that of a fighter. You could even say he’s a pompous coward, but at least he helped how he saw fit by making the stillsilver arrow. As for Isshin, he gave up the fighter role long ago and only briefly took it back in order to give his son the chance to beat Aizen; showing off his powers in the middle of the final climax wouldn’t have made much sense from a narrative standpoint. I really love that they chose to give a variety of less important characters, who didn’t get to do much if at all during the last part of the manga, the opportunity to do something meaningful here, such as the sky-holding thing. The teamwork on display was truly beautiful. The bigger characters who didn’t show up in the episode (Urahara, Kenpachi) had already done their part just a couple episodes ago. Ultimately, it was Kubo’s call as to which characters' roles he wanted to expand, and his choices make a lot of sense to me. Ywach seeing his reflection in Zangetsu’s blade just before it cut him was incredibly poetic.

2026-10-20 09:00 isshin and ryuken not showing up and still doing nothing was my only complaint but overall this ending was so much better than anything the manga ever did. also the ichigo and uryu team up was a great call back from when they first teamed up to fight the menos grande when it first appeared.

I can accept Aizen not showing back up but the dad's not doing anything aside from taking a vacation to the soul palace is unforgivable. I think the reason is likely that they didn't have a way back right away. They may explain something in the next episode or some type of flashback. It's kinda starting to seem like the season got shorted and they had to make adjustments and cut things out. And for the love of Adnyeus, WHAT DOES ICHIGO'S TRUE BANKAI ACTUALLY DO?!

Captain Zemblanity

didn’t ichibe say that yhwach can’t see through the soul king’s power so maybe that’s why he didn’t see mimihagi coming?

Anthony Fortin

I’m not mad that grimmjow had such a big role as he’s one of my favorite characters but I’m really disappointed that the 3 characters that needed to show up were no where to be seen. The captain were a much needed addition to the battle and seeing the fullbrings at least helped and it was a nice touch. Also WHERE IS RENJI and KENPACHI?!?!?!! Edit: I watched this at work and was amazed while also confused. It was a genuine mixed bag with some moments blowing me away while leaving me scratching my head.

Mike-T25

Having the dads go missing was a bit disappointing. Didn't mind Ganju doing his part, but would have loved it if it was Chad instead. I liked Iba jumping in as we've seen so little of him over the years, and it feels like we should know him better. Overall, satisfying episode. Felt like the stakes have never been greater. Biggest negative is the pacing. The pace of all four cours has been quick, but this episode felt a little manic and a little too busy. My early feeling is that this is where one extra episode would have helped a lot.

Morpheus Buress

It seemed like the part where Ryunnoske dealt the final surprise blow to Yhwach was a call back to when Sasakibe did the surprise attack against Yhwach a thousand years ago.

Big Tuna

Since both the fathers are doctors, my only thought is that they're healing all the injured at the royal palace. With Isane down, it's up to them to make sure everyone survived up there.... At least I hope that's Kubo's plan for them!

Lee Dourrieu

I loved it. I wish more people were involved sure, but just seeing everything they did the just an episode was a lot of fun. I think the lack of characters doing things is honestly a side effect of them making this just a 10 episode cour. With two more episodes they could have crammed in so many more characters doing more cool things

Reggie regg

It’s funny cause this episode was absolutely amazing , but nothing could even hold a candle to episode 45 so our expectations will never be met the same😭

Gregg_Rulz0k

To be fair Ryuken was probably at best as strong as an above average Soldat without a Schrift or anything. Maybe they were rescuing the Bambi squad so they can show up in CFYOW or something. Hopefully they show up to at least talk a little bit in the final episode. Other idea is that they're setting up Yuha getting sealed as the soul king in the aftermath somehow, Urahara seemed to have some kind of yet unknown plan with Grimmjow and I think this could be what they're setting up. My theory is that Urahara found a way to make Grimmjow able to inject Hollow DNA like White did to Masaki to make him more compatible as the soul king. Mimihagi would presumably have soul reaper reiatsu covered as well. It wouldn't surprise me if the dads were somehow facilitating this plan. My assumption is that next week is going to start with the timeskip and then cut back to the aftermath when Kazui grabs the Yuha orb like in the Manga, if we see them do anything my bet would be there.

Esther Dickerson

Or literally the only point was them appearing just for Ryuken to give Uryu the silver arrow lol

Dante Johnson

The dad not doing anything was disappointing. I was hoping to see Isshin's bankai, but considering the whole of Bleach, they only uplift their sons in different ways; mind you, it was par of the course for them to basically only help out their sons. Isshin told Ichigo the truth, and Ryuken gave his son the burden he had been holding onto since his wife died. Plus, Aizen didn't matter, as this arc had nothing to do with him. We had a lot of Aizen, and this was mostly about the world coming together. When Aizen's on screen, he basically commands the screen. About the ppl who held the Sk power back, I think it was supposed to show that even the smallest of people can make a difference, especially during the end of the world. And about Yhwach not using the Almighty, I think it shows a parallel with Aizen. Yhwach got so powerful, his goal was so close, at this point, he bascially stopped using it because he was all powerful. Like how Aizen never used his shikai against Ichigo, a huge mistake that came back to bite him later on.

Esther Dickerson

Kinda actually starting to think that too, agreed.. it is definitely forcing Uryu and Ichigo to work together and coordinate on another level, more than I think we have seen so far from them, which I actually really am liking..

Adrian

The issue with that is then, why would the anime introduce them SO much earlier than in the manga if they would end up doing the exact same thing. It just doesn’t make sense to me. And yes of course the spotlight should definitely be on Ichigo and Uryu. However the 2 Dads have a strong connection to Yhwach via hes behind both of their wives deaths. And for them to then just sit around and do nothing is just ridiculous

PhantomUnleashed

on the point of no kisuke or yoruichi, they had much more severe wounds. in fact, all grimmjow really got was some poison, which is a lot easier than healing kisuke and yoruichi who were beaten to hell fighting askin

Dante Johnson

The funny thing is, Yhwach mocked Aizen's defeat at Ichigo's hands, and he basically lost in the same way; his hubris got the better of him once he achieved God power

Marty D. Oats

And I am VERY curious where that "devour me" thing will go, because while it's completely in character for Harribel to say that (her aspect of death is sacrifice after all) the fact that it goes nowhere and is just ignored by Grimmjow feels a bit weird... But that is like a grain of sand (hehe) on an otherwise almost spotless episode!

Esther Dickerson

True, actually that’s a good point on the theme of revenge not really fitting within Bleach.. I felt like it was saying Haschwalt saw this outcome maybe when he had his portion of the Almighty, and Yhwach saw it as the full Almighty was returned to him.. in a way it kind of makes sense.. they have a shared connection, but are each individual’s experiencing their own course of events…

Adrian

Unfortunately that seems so. Which is just an insane underutilization

Esther Dickerson

I thought this was an amazing episode quality wise, definitely on par with episode 45! Did it jump a lot? Yes. It definitely could have so easily become a complete jumble. I think that’s actually why i appreciated them using green for Harribel from a practical perspective, it made it easier to distinguish what was happening in Hueco Mundo vs the Soul Society or Karakura Town. I really liked how each individual did have their own part to play, I don’t think any of them thought their power was going to be enough to stop Yhwach, but everyone was just vowing and doing their best to step up and do their best. Regardless of they were a main character or not. It was especially nice to get to see Uryu and Ichigo team up and REALLY have to coordinate and work together in a way more than we have ever seen from them so far, tho the elements from before were definitely still there and strong. The only other thing I want to know is.. who the heck is the guy who was watching, and said something like “everything you fight for always has to be so huge” or something, and they showed half his face.. I couldn’t tell who it was, and that for some reason stuck out in all the craziness and has been driving me a bit crazy 😅 Overall, I am so looking forward to the finale next week, even tho man, it’s going to be hard to believe it’s finally all over and done, complete. What a ride it has been, even as a more recent fan of a few years I guess, since TYBW Cour 1.

Adrian

I agree they definitely deserve something. But for a pretty much “nothing” character whos done next to nothing the entire arc to be the one who drives a sword into SOUL KING YHWACH to help Shunsui save the world. I feel like it gets to a point 😭 But it definitely is commendable and the scene where Shunsui is proud is a good moment. It seems like he has hope for the future of the Shinigami

Marty D. Oats

I largely agree, and my One Piece brain is happy (that's very much a theme there), but if I am allowed to nitpick a little (with a lot of words): what bothers me a little with that angle is that almost everywhere else in the arc it has been a callback to past events. Yamamoto fights because of the war & regret from a thousand years ago, Ichigo's lineage, Souken's journal, Isshin and Ryuken's past in the everything but the rain flashback, Yhwach's grudge with Ichibei and the Soul King, Souken's discovery of the "dimension nuke": this arc has never felt like a story that was about passing the torch. It has always been rooted in the past and the present is merely a consequence of those events, a conclusion centuries in the making. It was about as much about passing the torch as everyday life is: the youth lives here and will eventually have to take the reigns so they kind of HAVE to take over. And while I can absolutely agree that there have been moments in the story that refer to the newer generation, the story of Ryuken and Isshin has never been about passing the torch towards the newer generation. You could even argue that it was the exact opposite with them. They both got directly screwed over by Yhwach and lost their wives because of it. Isshin takes revenge in his own hands by being the one to kill Grand Fischer & Ryuken plots his still silver middlefinger by opperating on his wife that just died! And all we get related to those grudges is a scene with Ryuken telling Uryu that he should be the one to shoot that arrow and nothing else. Isshin doesn't even say anything! And that's what irks me a little: it COULD have been such a fantastic passing the torch moment with such minimal extra effort. If they included either of the dads saying "let's leave this up to the kids" or have them look from a distance and smile with pride at their kids, but we don't even see them! Literally 5 more seconds just showing them existing would have been enough to make it hit a lot better. And especially in an episode that does its best to include every random character, Isshin and Ryuken are the most noticable ommissions. I would've loved to get a little more from the both of them (their thoughts and feelings) but we didn't and I'm fine with that. As much as I'm ranting now, I'm not a big fan of the both of them, but leaving them out just makes it feel like a forgotten/abandoned plotthread. Even if they were intended to just be mailmen delivering that arrowhead, even a single line acknowledging "stay focused! we're here to deliver the arrowhead, nothing else" would've done a lot to explain them not doing anything else. Their absense forces us to assume that that is why they didn't participate, when they could've just as easily been taken down by the eye monster lasers. Maybe they got rusty and got hit? We don't know, because we don't see them! But don't let my ranting fool you: this was a phenomenal episode on the same tier as the Aurahime episode! Easy 9/10 for me, but leaving the dads out was too noticable for me, even though I didn't really mind with everything else that was going on. My criticism comes from a place of passion, not a place of discontent, hate or anger. And all in all, I have to agree with you that we should be a tad bit less critical (I will be leaving my criticism in this comment and focus in the awesome from now on) and just enjoy the ride! And jeez, was it a ride and oh boy did I enjoy it!! Cheers to eating good as Bleach fans!! <3

I already knew the moment I finished the episode that when Ryuken and Isshin didn't show up that Tommo would go on an entire tangent about them not being here.

Marty D. Oats

*somewhere within the vast ocean of power that he had accumulated within his soul, Yhwach senses an Aizen-shaped spot laughing at him*

Almightyslicks

That’s what I’m saying! Such a disappointment. And we didn’t really see what tensa zangetsu can really do as opposed to blood chains. Nor did we see how uryu survived aushwahlen. Still a dope episode but those three things is what i wanted to see the most.

akaryzen

i love your passion tommo, no matter what happens with bleach after episode 50 you'll always be consider the best bleach youtuber/commentator in the world imo what a ride its been ❤️

Vinícius Nolasco

At the very beginning of TYBW Yuki is afraid to fight the hollows in Karakura, but now hes facing Ywach, which speaks to this arc main theme, courage.

Norm L. Mann

I kinda liked the choices for the characters holding back the Soul King's power and for getting the sword through in Hueco Mundo and Karakura Town. Like, it's the end of the world. Everyone else has already given everything they've got and now whoever is left is going to do the same. Because if you're not doing your damndest to protect what's important to you, you're going to lose. It's about doing whatever you can and everything you can. I feel like that's always been one of the big themes of Bleach: if you're trying to protect others, you're going to give more and do better than fighting for a selfish reason.

What I want to know is where the hell is Renji? I haven't seen much people talk about him, he's that forgetful. I really liked the final slash. Yhwach's death is much better here than in the manga. His death here makes it feel like he's finally feeling relief and was going to thank Ichigo for killing him. I suspect that Yhwach was never truely ever able to die, and for his entire life always felt the fears and cries of every quincy that died like he mentioned in E24. He probably wanted to build a world where he would not have to feel that anymore because there was no other way for him to make it stop. Ichigo killing him showed that he was being severed from every quincy which finally brought him the peace that he wanted.

IsItPoppin

Some confusing choices were made but overall I really enjoyed the episode! Was it just me that was confused Rangiku didn't show up at all? I also agree with it being weird at not seeing any Isshin, Ryuken or Tessai :(

Alexander

Literally all they had to do was involve the Dads and this woulda been a perfect ending

Alexander

I'd give up hope on seeing the dad's just setting yourself up for more disappointment

jonathan barnes

Facts it's a full circle moment for him ...it definitely needed to b here

Unstablebeast

Imo, ryuken and isshin are both people who have abandoned what they were, ryuken doesn't want to be a quincy and isshin doesn't want to be a soul reaper, they left the battle to their sons who WANT to be those things, ryuken has literally almost let uryu die because he'd rather not use his powers As for the mimihagi bit, I think ywach being spread across the world's literally split him, and the arrow piercing the one in the soul society wouldn't have effected the ones in the world of the living or hueco mundo, the still silver arrow removed his power in soul society so ichigo could kill him, shunsui used mimihagi to dispell his power in the world of the living so Yuki could kill him, and whatever kisuke did to grimmjow (likely something to do with hollow energy being poison to quincy) allowed his bite to dispell the power so pesche and dondachoka could fire his blade in and kill him, all 3 groups individually beat ywach, its not just because of the silver arrow

Unstablebeast

Neither want to use their powers, they have both literally let their sons almost die because they didnt want to use their powers

Unstablebeast

I mean it going nowhere is kinda the point, harribel tries to sacrifice herself to win and grimmjow says fuck that I don't need your power

jonathan barnes

U definitely right it fits her character to sacrifice herself but it also to me at least fits grimmjows character to turn her down.. accepting that handout that would admit to himself that he too weak to do it himself and that was enough to boost him ..but I love all opinions of the EP

jonathan barnes

Exactly people not seeing exactly WHY ryunosuke being there to help take down the big bad concerns me... it's actually really excellent full circle writing and character development for him and makes sense for the theme u said... having the courage to keep going forward even with the fear of death ..which he had in the beginning

Unstablebeast

Some of the complaints feel all over the place, earlier in the arc you wanted iba and gonju to do something cool, but when they do some of the coolest shit it's not good? And similarly you complained that it didnt make sense gonju and iba could hold back the power but then 5 minutes later said kenpachi and kisuke should've been up to fight even if it didnt make sense. As for alot of your questions, im pretty sure the answers are all there in the episode they just aren't 100% obvious

TheFallenSmoke

I see what you mean now. In my opinion the Aizen fight and his moments were still very hype and I enjoyed that their fight stayed faithful to the manga. But I understand that his fans could be disappointed. I dont really see how would they include him in the final fight tho.. Unless they give him a role in a finishing blow (taking the spotlight from Ichigo and Uryu) I dont really see how could he stay up to expectations. From the writing perspective he just does not make sense to be a part of this fight. He would make more sense in Karakura town group, but he isnt there so its impossible. Also, Chad and Ganju needed those moments since they were tossed around the whole story. The two soul reapers make a nice closure to their appearnace at the beginning. I liked that the weaker characters had their moments, even if it was suprising at first.

Shane The Prodigy

They can find a way to incorporate Aizen its not hard. We had nel, tetsuzaiomon and ganju stopping the world from ending. We had so many characters who really shouldnt even be involved or are weak/powerless do stuff in this episode. So they could have done more with aizen if they wanted to

Arise Aizen

i almost cried before the clicking on play man we´ve waited so long for it.....soooo long

Bear

Pretty disappointed at the collective disdain for things like Ganju & Iba, Shino via Kageoni, etc. We wanted an unrealistic upscale to the power of everything, we got it... and with that comes the absolutely unprecedented and insane idea that every little moving part in this is integral. The apocalypse is upon them and they're seconds away from annihilation, but seeing Ganju and Iba hold open the sky for less than a minute with sheer willpower or Kyoraku seeing the value in a lone Shino to deliver a blow he can't is getting punched down on. I'm so glad we got to see these characters be INCLUDED by their respective teams and treated as actual people with a role to contribute to. It tickles me to death that we didn't get god-scaling from the Gotei 13 and only captains doing anything meaningful. I wouldn't change a single solitary thing about how the collaborative efforts were executed, because however unbelievable, it went to the spirit of what the 13 Court Guards Squads, Arrancar, etc. were intended to display. In some ways it feels like many folks wanted this to turn into a battle anime episode where THEIR favorite character got to save the day or be the fulcrum, as opposed to adoring the actual story that was GENEROUSLY and INTENTIONALLY crafted for us by Kubo. When shit hits the fan you throw everything you can at the wall and pray something sticks, Kubo captured that PERFECTLY. This was the final battle, one won through willpower and desperation and not an Aizen Bankai, Grimmjow Secunda Etapa, or even Orihime's rejection.

Sylvain Quainon

I'd say the roles given to Shino and Pesche/Dondocjaka

Dirk Buzzard

I know I am probably in the minority here, but I am bit disappointed in the last few episodes.. I think there was a too much going on, and at the same time not enough. So many characters who should have been involved and so many who shouldn't. For Yuki to be involved and not Isshin, ryuken, kisuke or kenpachi almost seems criminal. They had a decade to fix this and write a clean, satisfying ending and we didn't get it. I may be too close to the trees to see the forest but I just didn't love it. I still love the series as much as I always have but idk..

ZER0 2

Papa Quincy and Papa soul reaper having a tea party in warhwelt while everyone else is fighting for their lives and the world. Meanwhile, the vizard remain MIA. Overall an amazing episode but can’t help but notice those two things lmao

Payneful Pages

When Uryu appeared after firing the arrow I thought Aizen was going to reappear and tell us Kyoka Suigetsu was the reason Yhwach hadn't noticed him or something crazy like that, they were pulling stuff out enough for that to happen!

Midnight Daybreak

Really? One Piece...? You couldn't have done a good series...?

stuart

This level was insane and overwhelmed my mind, I felt like it was an hour long watching it with how much was going on. Kinda felt like time was slowing down during it

BPStudio

I thought it was supposed to be a demonstration of character growth from grimmjow. Devouring the king and getting strong is his raison d'etre. To pass up the invitation and struggle with his own power is very much like ichigo. And then the finally attack being him getting help from others i think cements it.

BPStudio

I think a throw away line that plugging the hole wasnt that hard they were just the ones with initive, similar to the shuhei bankai throwaway line would do a lot of help with the chud maxing issues. A scene of ryuken and isshin maybe watching the fight with deliberate intention and faith to let uyru and ichigo handle it, I can think of ways its not over, but feels like cope. Im really scared the first thing we will see next episode is shunsui at jushiros grave. Tommo is right. The immediate aftermath is paramount and the anime has gone out of its way to make that even more of a big deal.

BPStudio

I like the poetry, however this requires a level of intentionality that I struggle to buy if unsaid. If they have something where isshin and ryuken reflect on a choice to not participate further having complete faith in uryu and ichigo even while being consumed by yhwach next episode, im right there with you. And thats not impossible if we get the immediate aftermath. But its a pretty specific thing to hope for.

Lucas Margroff

Thought this was hilarious 😂 plz let them announce the hell arc 🙏

HeavenlyBricky

I can understand the Dads not doing.. well.. anything may be upsetting to a lot of people. I'm sure people, like myself, thought that since Isshin's Bankai was not mentioned in Everything But The Rain we'd get a massive reveal. But to be fair, like alot of people mentioned, I want to feel like they want to pass down that "grief", pain and sorrow to Ichigo and Uryu. They do seem like the ones that ended up suffering the most with the loss of their mothers. Because Isshin literally said "Meh, it feels kinda okay" after he killed Grand Fisher and Ryuken seemed completely detached from reality (or, at least, emotionally) to anything and everything that wasn't "Uryu-foccused" almost. Yhwach is the reason Ichigo blamed himself for years for his mother's death and the reason Uryu saw his father disect his own mother. That's how I decided to "head-canon" these events lol

Devin e

WHERE TF IS RENJI???
