The Shutoku game is like preliminary game to decide which teams can play in the winter cup if I remember correctly. Teppei's knee injury won't be revealed until they play Hanamiya's team. Hanamiya is the guy you said you didn't like last time. Hanamiya's team are not ethical in any way shape or form. You'll see in episode 9 why the player from the team they just beat was so angry then. When Seirin play Hanamiya's team again in the winter cup prelims you will see just how dirty of players him and his team are. Seirin is a new school they don't have 3rd years yet. Teppei, Hyuga etc are all 2nd years. Also Mitobe doesn't speak, no idea why maybe he's shy or something... When Teppei is telling the team that he only sprained his knee if you look at Hyuga and Riku's faces they know he's full of shit and trying to play down his injury.

I'm rewatching this because I can't remember what happened. Anyway Hanamiya reminds me of the ice hockey player a couple of years ago who was going for the puck and was in a bit of a scrum sort of situation with another player and during an exhibition match. The guy lifted his skates off the ice and literally slit the other players throat right there on the ice. I'm sure you know how fucking sharp hockey skates are and the player who was cut just bled out on the ice. I can't remember what happened to the player who lifted his skate but I know there was a big inquiry and calls for more safety measures in games etc. It was also revealed that the player at fault had a history of rough play.
