Will Joe watch the GGO Alternative spin off series & the Progressive movies since they're well worth the reaction?

shweampy

wasn't SAO for Freshest Exclusive? 🤔

Habech

It made me realize that it has been 6 years already since WOU ended and we don't even have announcement of new season lol

FreshestAnime

not doing GGO but dammit, i guess i should do the progressive ones maybe... idk. I just assumed I was done.

AlduicS

So GGO Alternative will be a poll option for the future? Or you just want nothing to do with it? Cause it's definitely a good show, nice standalone with some ties to SAO main story but it keeps its own identity Only 2 SAO Progressive movies currently exist, it'd be pretty easy for you to catch up on them & eventually react to future movies/series since they have teased that Progressive's storylines will continue to be adapted in the future (just no official announcements) Also, in regards to main story's next season... the story arc is still being written in the LNs I believe. Unital Ring is the arc's title, that's all I know, but Alicization got pretty close to catching up on all main story LN content. I believe the author has stated that Unital Ring is the last, or second to last (if he does a epilogue) arc of the Light Novels

Loved the reactions, watched all of them within 2 weeks. SAO is one of my all time favs. With Akihiko as the robot, i think the only logical thing could be that he powered down between 1-5% battery life and managed to use the last bit to turn back on and grab the c4, but even then it didn't make much sense. Can't wait to see what the next season is like.

Unfortunately I don't think they will continue adapting Progressive, considering they already skipped 2,5 of volume between first and second movie of progressive, while they could easly make more movies out of it. It was probably just to promote Progressive light novel series, since a lot of people didn't even knew about existence of it. But movies are still worth watching of course

AlduicS

I believe the reason they skipped certain volumes is because that arc had yet to be finished or still had longlasting effects being felt in newer volumes that they wanted to adapt a shorter "one and done" arc for the second movie

Damn, its crazy that were already done, but im happy that it didnt took us like 1 year to finish it. The two girls at the end were the descendants of the apprentices. They had different names, and I suppose they knew about all of them because of the lore that had been passed down. I would also love to see the last two reaction to the progressive movies since they are also quite good and flesh out some of the gaps we had in season 1. Regarding the next arc, as others have said, it's still being written. The Unital Ring arc consists of 8 volumes so far, and the story has apparently only just started to reach its climax. This would mean at least 1 or 2 more volumes, and new volumes are released quite infrequently. Vol8 in 04/2026, Vol7 06/2024 and Vol6 in 10/2022, so it could take another 2–4 years for the light novels to finish the arc, and the anime will probably take even longer. However, I could see them producing 1 or 2 movies to bridge the gap. Also, for me the stuff about alice loving kirito doesnt exist, since its an anime only thing. Just continue thinking that and it will keep your mind clean 😂 I also did some research on the scene with the bomb and the robot. As I suspected, the anime portrayed it as a typical power of love moment, but the light novel has a more logical explanation without the love/friendship elements. In the LN, the robot didn't just shut down because the battery was empty, but rather because the system executed a forced shutdown due to damage and overheating. Since this shutdown was caused by software alone, Kayaba, the digital ghost inside the robot, exploited the system and bypassed the safety protocols. (I only read through reddit etc. and didnt read the LN, so i could still have some parts wrong)

Any interest in the Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad coming out in July?

Master

The team that adapted SAO at A1 is now busy with Solo Leveling and SL being this popular probably means that we are not getting SAO any time soon. Well that said apparently another team at A1 is animating anime original movie but that's just a rumour. Thanks for the amazing reaction, hope to see progressive movies in the future!

Gabe's fate is the literal definition of FAFO - effed around with other people's souls his entire life; found out when his childhood friend dragged his soul to hell with her. Alice's response to the journalist with the outright insensitve question is one of my favorite one-ilners of the entire series. The literal "I'll show you mine if you show me yours first" - it was chef's kiss. As far as conditions go, you're forgetting that Kirito was basically brain-dead when they threw him into the STL, only to have a hole shot through his fluctlight. While Asuna with 200 years of wear and tear on her fluctlight wasn't ideal, Kirito had that on top of everything else with his physical body, such as his nervous system having to rebuild/reboot itself from being effectively brain dead. Alice "withering away" kind of makes sensewhen you reaalize the only person she truly knows is Kirito - sure, she knows Asuna and Sinon to a lesser extent, but the only bonds she has is with Kirito... and then he went and risked sacrificing himself to make sure she got out. She literally had no idea if she'd see him again because she had no idea if he'd survive. She is a true outsider in this world, and she's all alone. But this visit with Kriito helped her realize she can live in this world. And not mentioned in the anime, but she basically becomes best friends with Sugu, and develos a lot of friends in ALO as well. As for Unital Ring, the arc is more than half written, but there is a lot of talk this will be the final arc of SAO. The only other thing I'll say about it... is there are a TON of Accel World references in it (Reki Kawahara is the author of both series). It is heavily theorized that Accel World is in the same universe as SAO (Kawahara hasn't completely connected the two yet), and even heavily theorized that Kuroyukihime, one of the main characters of Accel World, is connected to Kirito and Asuna in, at this point, some unknown way.

Kirito will return in Avengers: Doomsday

IIRC a lot of the asspulls/power of friendship are properly explained/justified in the LN, I remember reading some tidbits when it originally aired, whether that counts or not is up to each person lol. I actually upgraded from regular sub to this tier for SAO and Wandering Witch Journey of Elaina, hope you'll cover the Progressive movies, had a lot of fun.

Hódi Norbert

I remember how the IP Adress used in the last episode was an easter egg and linked to a special imige hosted by the production team although i am pretty sure it no longer exists as is

Ruukasu97

so now all thats left is the 2 progressive movies Aria of a starless night (1) Scherzo of deep night(2) and then we have to wait for the next arc unital ring (currently 7 volumes out alicization had 10 volumes)

Joe the problem is that a bullet proof vest can only take maybe half a dozen hits before the integrity is cooked (not unlike how bicycle/motorbike helmets etc work when it comes to negating impacts, where you have to buy a new one after a crash like that, because the integrity is ruined), rendering it useless for its main purpose. Joe you don't understand, if Souls are CONFIRMED TO EXIST, then clearly they can detach from the body & all that (it explains all the supernatural shit there's stories about etc too, in-universe), so that's Miller looking at his own corpse from his detached Soul... Joe they explained already that the Soul has a lifespan of some 150-200 years, which is how they optimized the Fluctlight Acceleration safeties to be what they are, despite the hardware limit being in the 5 million range or w/e. This Soul lifespan is basically denoted by the fluctlight memory capacity that Quinella suffered from after nearing the 200ish year limit, which she got around by sleeping 99% of the time over the centuries. Joe forgor that C4 like most plastic explosives are SHAPE CHARGES, so they are designed to only detonate in 1 direction (hence why you sploot them to those surfaces), so detaching one literally neutralizes 99% of the penetrative power of a C4 etc

Thank for your reaction to the SAO Saga, I really enjoyed doing a re-watch while enjoying your reactions. SAO is one of the Anime that have changed me so much and bring me to start learning Game Developing and Stuff about Full Dive VR.

Ruukasu97

It has been an awesome Journey, i hope youll return in 2028 for the new movie. If you do ill be back, have an awesome time until then
