Content

There is a company that works in taking down content they deem to be infringing on copyright. Allegedly the believe I am infringing on copyright with my reactions and have begun targeting my content specifically, or so it would seem allegedly. Yes, I'm spamming allegedly. They have targeted multiple works on behalf of multiple companies. I'm not typing out the names of the reactions because even that may cause this post to be removed. UPDATE at 5:03 - I'm currently seeking a solution for this whole situation so i can AT BEST get the content back to the patrons, and AT WORST no longer have reactions up for these listed series but they also don't come for more series than this... just gonna need time to figure out my options.

UPDATE at 8:37 April 28th - I have removed all the DMCA claimed series and videos at the moment. I am still seeking a solution but have a few viable ones in mind at the moment. It will take us a little time to really nail down and enact these plans, but bare with me and I believe I should be able to still provide reactions for the listed series. They will however NOT be through Patreon's native player of course because well, the answer's pretty obvious as to why not lol.

Ah crap, here we go again

J Man

Dang! Why they gotta dig deep like this yo?

J Man

Oof, Eva too? (Gainax had been long gone. Those rights got passed around like a joint)

Tim See

Damn, that is ridiculous.

Davlen

That’s a pain in the ass, however I don’t think Patreon has the same fight system as YouTube do I wish I knew what to suggest

jdoggivjc

These scammers are getting beyond ridiculous. I’ve had a number of other reactors I follow stop doing anything noteworthy on Twitch because they’ve literally had livestreams shut down by their scams, and now Patreon isn’t even safe? This is complete BS.

AceHafiz

Ah man I was enjoying watching farming life is there anything you can do like upload video on Google drive or etc?

Phuizour

Don’t they have to go through Patreon first and from my understanding Patreon is pretty good with that shit? Just wanted to confirm if they have been doing that?

FreshestAnime

Working on it. I havent dealt with Patreon's DMCA system so It's not something I'm even aware of how to handle.

Aspect

dang i hope you will able to do something about it

FreshestAnime

Patreon is just less attacked because its not as big as YouTube. Patreon complies with all demands to avoid liability.

FreshestAnime

well, yeah Twitch is a no go for anime reactions atm.

William

Damn that crazy man

Kurono Hanashi

well the only one of the list that affects me is Farming Life in Another World (so does chained soldier kinda)

You can repost on vimeo and attach the link on patron. This happens it's a best interest companies that don't really know what copyright infringement is but file complaints anyway. It happened to content creators on YouTube apparently it's actually illegal to do this. If a remember it's making a legal claim of ownership on IP or falsely representing the companies in question.

TheLaugh477

I just noticed that 90% of this is on Hidive

Snoopy Loopy24

You'd think these companies would want people to view these reactions and people watch the anime but I guess not....

Espor

This is so bad they are all going way over the top with that behavior. Many people actually have their own s subscriptions, watch anime legally and watch reactions in addition. People who want to pirate shit do it without reactions. People who upload the reactions mostly have legal subscriptions. I mean yeah rightfully reactions might be copyright problems but the copyright is mostly for protecting their income, but I just don't see their income suffering through reactions. The opposite, many people come to watch content because of the reactions.

J Man

These DMCA snipers be scammin'

Jome Greece

I'm susbcribed to another patreon reactor and I noticed they don't post the full reactions of the video. I mean they post they're full reactions and time stamps the video so you need to sync up your device to watch it with them. To be honest, I find your patreon videos so convinient because sometimes I don't need to watch it beforehand. But maybe that's why you have copyright issues at the moment.

tp

someone needs to form a group for creator rights, some of these are my favourite reactions

FreshestAnime

I feel similarly to what you said, but I just gotta wait to see what comes of this

Sean

This was eventually going to happen for patreon, however it's just going to be a cat and mouse game. They will never be able to prevent your content from being distributed because there are too many options for video hosting. Just make sure you always keep backups of all your reactions on a local drive (preferably with redundancy to be extra safe). For DMCA'd reactions, you could host them elsewhere and use patreon to route people to the videos on another platform (covertly depending how persistent they are).

Ragon

You got this big man, you're the champ.

Kurono Hanashi

i also just noticed “Dusk beyond the end of the world” at the bottom. been meaning to say that i’m disappointed in the direction the series went… until i saw episodes 9 and 10 (stopped after that though. like, i wish what we saw in episode 10 WAS the story instead)

Cerin Draco

Damn... and here I was thinking that patreon was safe from copyright... pretty soon all we will be able to do is literally watch people's reactions without being able to see what they are watching... maybe its not actually that bad and im exaggerating but damn if it doesn't feel like the direction things are headed...

Sean

I'd entirely stopped subscribing to sync reactions even if I enjoy the reactor. Too much nonsense with adjusting videos every time, plus different versions of the same show being out of sync, and too many reactors do a bad job providing adequate visuals to easily sync.

Jome Greece

i guess I'm just used to it now

Skebaba

Honestly just as Sean said. I had to unsub from Deebeegeek back in the day when he suddenly switched to timer BS, because of how annoying the sync shit was.

FreshestAnime

though it feels very exclusive to anime at this point. I don't generally see non-anime going this hard.

Krimsonwulf

Patreon has been going downhill for awhile, It's sad to see so many strikes. Hopefully they redeem themselves a bit by making this quick and painless, if a reaction isn't fair use then nothing is, especially with how much you pause and tangent.

Misaka Nettowaku

Joe, do you still has the backup if jn case the series cant be accessed again in patreon?. For sites that you sure can upload safely there later?

FreshestAnime

Yes, I have everything, and will be uploading things again. Just need to find alternate names for the titles and such.

Angela 🌺

Damn dude... This sucks. Good luck! Keep us in the loop and let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Panda_senpai

Not dandadan I love that reaction😭
