Makis solution is kind of nonsense. The whole conflict between asanagi and amami was about asanagi being afraid that amami would inadvertently take all of asanagis friends away from her. Why then would the fix be to have asanagi distance herself from her new friend for the sake of amami, effectively having amami take yet another of asangis friends. Thats nonsense.

I like me some drama in my romance anime but some didn't resolved pretty well just for the sake of dragging on the drama for long time because they can't communicate well. This one tho, I'm really satisfied with how it being resolved.

probably crazy of me to even start discussing this, cuz this is just a work of fiction. do relationships work like that where all of a sudden they do like each other? though i can see it as more of an accumulation overtime is it because it was both unexpected as well as they were just natural with each other? with abit of stakes where umi thought yuu was gonna "take" maki too. so she maybe subconsciously thought she needed to bag him before anything happens maybe it really id just the simple things

Do you mean Vol 1 of the light novel or the manga? Or do they both cover about the same material?

So the end of episode 5 is basically the end of LN volume 1 and the end of manga volume 3. The anime kinda adapts both LN and manga parts.

This is such a hard situation for Yuu to be in. She did nothing wrong, only loved Umi and then she kinds of gets rejected because of what other people around her do to Umi. It is not fair. But I guess so is life. I personally find that suprisingly deep. I thought like with so many of these anime, the "second prettiest girl" is just a funny, throwaway gimmick to start with. But there is a lot of thought in it actually.
