I hereby once again bestow you your S-Tier-Reactor badge for immediately recognizing that the religious magic is draining the lands and is responsible for the droughts in Sera's homeland. Seen many people not draw this conclusion. (Small disclaimer: I have no knowledge of the source material, so this theory could still be wrong, but it seems obvious to me.)

I have one (1) brain cell, b/c I absolutely did not catch that the religion-based magic is 100% the reason for Sera's home being a wasteland! Though that does make me wonder why the east has fiends but the west apparently doesn't? Maybe they did back when the land was fertile and the church covered it up or blamed someone/something else? 🤔 Also, they said 'blight', and my Dragon Age-loving self just kinda twitched like "there are already dragons roaming around, can you NOT??" 😂

My guess is the "church" yoinks any fiends, and uses them for who knows fucking what (I assume the reason w/e mf founded the church back in the day had a motive to grind fiends for some reason, so I assume the top higher ups know what's going on behind the scenes)
