The interactions between Lutz and his family are distinct because the contract was signed with his family, but not with Lutz himself. Consequently, they cannot refer to her as family; however, since Lutz treats her as a friend, this alters the dynamic, making him more friendly toward her.

@ your comment during the opening : OMG Joe you play Chess too? I'm just under 1400 classical! wow, you never know where you can find people that share your hobbies. Dunno why you hurting though, the games go for 2-3 hours but it's not that physical.

The specifics of the contract is they canโ€™t directly acknowledge her as family the hidden room only allows her to act like a commoner with the people who didnโ€™t sign the contract (her mom, dad, sister, and brother) but outside of interactions with her they can still regard her as Myne as long as itโ€™s not directly

The mayor of Hasse still doesn't realize that the previous High Bishop is dead. He's under the impression that he still has the protection of the previous High Bishop. The reason the other orphans didn't want to leave is because they still might have a chance to receive a plot of land to farm and be able to get married and have a family. Anyone who joins the gray robed priests is most likely stuck as a priest for good with only very few exceptions. Rosina, Rosemyne's music teacher, is one of those few exceptions because Rosemyne literally bought her from the Temple and she is now Rosemyne's personal servant away from the Temple. She's not really a slave because Rosemyne gives her a great deal of latitude and would likely even allow her to marry and have her own life if it came to it. That said, she mostly lives around nobles and wouldn't get a lot of opportunities to meet commoner men in a leisurely setting.

Child labour W Rozemyne. Hasse subplot finally started, I hope the anime does not chicken out on the darker stuff that is in the books.
