This episode has a lot of sweet comedic moments at the beginning. And the actor who plays the villain is really impressive. Beating did not get to him, but humiliation did. Even though there are many episodes, this series keeps my interest.

Xie Zheng is worried about her reaction to him being the Marquis. On top of that, he has lied to her over and over, so there's going to be some feeling of betrayal and hurt there. But the biggest thing is how she's going to take him being the Marquis. So I understand the hesitation to come clean, but the longer he waits, the worse it gets. There are repercussions outside their relationship for her not being in the know. Regarding the punishment, I think as the Marquis, he needs to show that he's fair in upholding the rules. It's both for Changyu and her squad to learn the seriousness of what they've done, as well as for his guards, to show that his leadership hasn't been compromised by Changyu. But at the same time, he doesn't want Changyu to be punished, so he's taking the punishment himself. If he lets this go, it's going to set a precedent and will just undermine his leadership.

I’m guessing when Changning is bored she just kind of explores around the area and happened to stumble upon the cave and recognized Yuanqing and ran back to tell her sister ASAP. Also I feel like it’s important for Changyu to understand that the military is not a place where you can disregard rules even if you do something beneficial. Before in the villages, she could kind of vigilante her way through but in the Marquis’s military she could easily die with that mentality. I saw it as a way of Yan Zheng teaching her without revealing too much about his identity so hopefully in the future she doesn’t do anything to get herself killed.

When he said "This is not a game" and looked at Changyu, is so good to see making her know that what she did is really wrong

And the actor played SuiyanQing only 19 years old while shooting this. Bright future ahead.

In this episode was when she started getting on my nerves! I saw a self righteous, impulsive person emerging, that was only thinking about herself. Because who tf...just does whatever they want to at a military base, disregarding plans, strategies and the chain of command! ? Her need for revenge (righteous though it was) was endangering everyone else there, and not there unbeknownst to her. She is completely ignorant of the larger political plays going on behind the scenes or the larger landscape of palace intrigue going on in and out of the palace. Thankfully her impromptu plan, she got meat and salt for her man to heal and the soldiers.

Brissygirl

In the novel when we meet the princess she is much more of a spoiled and arrogant brat. I like this version of her better. Also the actor playing Gongsun only made his debut in like 2023 or something and landed a pretty big role with this show so soon after his debut.

She can't know because the Marquis loves drama in his life.

This is what many people didn't get while watching this show, maybe because they were too much into her or being new to historical cdrama, "why he has to do that"? Mind you, if she wasn't his wife, he would have punished her bad, I love her but she was ignorant indeed.
