Dana

I think the mourning period is something like three years, you're technically mot even suppose to marry, nvm have kids.

Djahmine H-R

If remember correctly in the show it’s 1 year

Dana

Yeah might be right I was thinking of another series. But part of me does kinda lol when they don't accept concubines, its romantic but a little part of me is always 'am I supposed to believe you're practically the ONLY Noble in your generation who doesn't take a concubine'.

Cornelia

I think these generals really wanted her to die through neglect. They would not strike her down yet would shrug their shoulders at her passing, with grandmother applauding.

Djahmine H-R

So he's definitely starting to like her (even if he doesn’t realize it yet) and most of all he respects her and her courage and intelligence. But here he’s definitely “using” her in front of the people, showing his “care and love” so that they’ll stop bothering him about taking a concubine. But honestly it kinda helps her, since people would not dare bother her anymore. Like you said in the beginning of the episode, if he treats her right, people will follow his lead. So even though it’s manipulation, it’s not hurtful to her.

Djahmine H-R

Also for context, I'm pretty sure he’s like 19 and she’s 17 or something. So they’re both really young. So they do have a really childish side to them. The ending is just him boasting that he's fast so she can go ahead, he’ll catch up in no time, but the moment she’s out of sight, he runs to be sure he actually catch up.

Djahmine H-R

Yeah, most of them definitely did. At least here he’s acting like it’s out of love and respect for his wife, but he just can’t be bothered, especially with a girl coming from his uncle's family.

RahaMi

Last scene is my favourite 🫣 Loved your reaction. That lady who is scheming against man man is wei shao's mother.. And the one whom you think is the mother is actually his grandmother

RahaMi

He actually started to like her but it's going to take them vwry long to trust each other.. 🙃

Yoruka

He mainly respects her at this point with hints of liking her eventually. That will also take even longer as his trust for her can drop instantly if she does something he deems as for the Qiao family.

Mad Hatter

Joined patreon for this series! so excited ♥

Dude...you're so biased towards Manman, but at least you're aware. 😁 Idk...if a large portion of my ppl got wiped out by another, including my immediate family members, and know her family still can't stand me and mine despite the marriage Id be taking precautions against another attack too. Of course they don't love each yet, but they are attracted and starting to be considerate of each other. At least on the surface..they're both capping right now for the ppl around them. They both been raised to hate and suspect each other...that aint changing totally anytime soon. Give them both some time to build rapport trust and a relationship, before love sheesh! 🤣

Since the show said something about a 1 year mourning period. The author to show he is a good guy will have him not make a move on her for the year. Hence, mentioning she is in mourning while staying in the side chamber.

The Wei’s so far are your text book power hungry family troupe 😂 Everyone wants power or for their family line to stay in power, or they have their own schemes. But Wei shao is different Also its kind of annoying, he definitely is falling for her, but his “revenge pride” wont let him be with her if you know what i mean. They always hand-made the outfits then, but the fact that he picked out certain fabrics for her, and even just thought about the fact that her clothes got wet 🥰

Willy Ng

You really can’t tell was him playing or genuine. .. that’s proofed that the actor do such a good job . And at the end of the episode the the funny part are Qiao said that Wei’s leg are long and big step make him walk faster then her… she trying hard to kept up, then Wei said “you walk first, I give u half burning incense time, I can catchup with no sweat”. But he warming up and start running afraid that he might lose .

Peppermint

I enjoy how hard he is to read. Lol Makes it harder to figure out things.

Dana

I think people are biased toward ManMan for two reasons. First, she’s the underdog. She has very little power, especially given how much authority a husband held over his wife in that era—on top of that, he’s politically powerful. He could have her put to death at any time without facing real consequences. She’s completely at his mercy. Second, another reason people side with her is that she clearly sees his potential. She can see how good he could be, which makes it all the more disappointing when he fails her. It’s honestly just really sad. Lastly as an extra, she is the main character, including the book (and if it wasn't for spoilers Id have much more to say about the book..but I cant) at least and you can see she's the main characters in the series. As such we get to see more of what she's thinking. Its her journey.

He definitely has his own agenda which is normal, he is a RULER, he can't afford to be a lovesick teenager right now. On the other hand, his agenda is also to make sure people respect her as the Lady of Wei, to do that, he has to show his care publicly. If he lets his court force concubines on him, and it leads to an heir, it adds further complications he can't control. So yes, he's being selfish, but also it's good for Man Man. She needs respect around here, everyone disrespects her currently. Also, you are seeing everything from Man Man's point of view. Which is completely normal and I didn't understand the full picture till the end there's a lot of development in the show which I won't spoil. Man Man IS innocent, her clan is NOT. A LOT of those old dudes from Qiao were alive 14 years ago. He has EVERY right to safeguard against those clowns who were meant to be his state's allies - I don't care if the stars shine from new wife's eyes, I don't trust the actual people from the clan that led to the death of 3 generations of my family +++ they're both playing games, she has her agenda, we're just more sympathetic to her rn.

Brissygirl

I think his icy heart is starting to thaw a little bit, especially after how she was treated while he was busy with mourning his family and then going over clan stuff after that and she was stuck outside the city/mansion because of his scheming mother and cousin, which ended up making her sick.

Coco T

So far you didnt recognize Qianqian, did you^^

Michelle

i said in his last ep its ironic cuz he went on a rant at the start when he made the argument of would you be more mad at the person doing wrong or the one that was closeby and did nothing (defending her side for her familys betrayal of doing nada, compared to the actual killers), and then by the end of the ep fuming at the generals just standing closeby when the mothers soldiers were pushing their cart away. same type of scenario and he totally switched sides based on his bias lmao..hypociteee, cracked me up

Ching

same here, tend to skip all the unnecessary hate..lets not forget what they did to the Wei for them to act like that..
