After finishing POJ please react to FIRST FROST...

During the previous many episodes, quite a few time i was so pissed that Xie Zheng and Changyu didnt just take Sui Yuanqing's life, instead they keep him alive and let him escape again and again . But watched the quick fight between XieZheng and Sui Yuanqing in this episode, finally I kind of understand why. Cause for XieZheng, Sui Yuanqing is so easy to defeat. So he's never really bothered by Sui Yuanqing.

Li Huai'an has been wavering from the beginning, between his family obligation and trust on his grandpa, and his own mind of wanting to do good his country and the people just like his master General He. But unfortunately this family obligation and words from his grandpa affect him so bad.

As I said in an earlier episodes when Changyu knocked his ass out, gaining merit on the battlefield is extremely important for all these men and the few women that fight. Yes Commander Li is the Grand Tudor Grandson and enjoys the privilege of that, but that belongs to his grandfather not him. He's nothing without it and he wants to stand on his own, and not be under his grandfather thumb anymore.

xie zheng is truly a green flag which is probably why i love the show so much, like sure he lied about his status, but the lie was never about harming her or lied about his feelings, it was just needed to keep wei yan for seeking him out, but the fact that he never fails to always reassure changyu that she is all he ever love and ever wanted, that he would defy an imperial decree bec there is no way he is marrying another, and that he always acknowledge their marriage even though it was just a deal between them, he set the bar high i have seen a cdrama where the ml had to give up fl bec of imperial decree; the satisfaction i felt when xie zheng cut the eunuch's ear love it on repeat. also, xie zheng holds a huge army, and emperor are usually afraid to anyone with so much power i.e. those who holds army bec most army are loyal to their general, emperor in many cdramas i watch usually like to control these powerful generals bec they can be potentially be a threat which is also THE REASON why the emperor didn't give marquis of wu'an any credits on the last battle and gave it to li hua'ian instead

To answer your question about posture correcting, the "belt" worked for me great but I tried 2 or 3. For me the best one wasn't the elaborate ones but the simplest one that had soft elastic bands going around the armpits and waist. Because it has to be used several hours a day, it needs to be comfortable. Also if you chose to use one, don't use it immediately after a meal because you can get uncomfortable having something pushing your stomach. Let an hour go by.

You don't watch many historical cdramas to know this but defying the emperor's decree is something that you will see very very rare in these cdrama, like no matter how dumb and slow is an order, they usually listen to it because it's law. Xie Zheng has too much power at this point and the emperor is just scared of him, that's why he wanted to trap him with the marriage. I love that scene, especially because I was so annoyed of other cdramas where they have to listen the emperor. Also, Xie Zheng actually puts some distance between them when he finds out about her father in the novel, I love how they changed that in the show, he didn't even blink, such a green flag.

Mind you, Xie Zheng already defeated him back then when he took Ning while he was stabbed too, he never took him seriously😂

That's why I am glad they didn't drag out the "noble idiot" trope. He knows and doesn't care or believe it. Can we move on.

So glad my main worry about the show ended up being avoided. I read the novel first and had to rage quit because Yan Zheng was a green flag and then immediately became the reddest of red flags once he retook the Marquis role back. It was like he lost all respect for Changyu as a person once he realized she was the object of his love and not just a fellow ally. And I hate green flags that randomly switch out of the blue. In the novel he refused to let Changyu leave him because of his status and then finally won her over but then the moment he finds out who her dad is he goes “whelp, actually I’m going to drop you like a hot potato because filial piety is more important than all the shit you just did that I kinda forced upon you so you could stand tall next to a Marquis” And then I went “I can’t read this anymore” so suuuuuuuuper glad they made him a green flag and took that whole shit out. Sometimes makes it come out of left field when book Red Flag marquis scenes show up like the ear cutting or the first forced kiss or full on stabbing that guy who tried to assault Changyu in their house when he spends the rest of the time being the most respectful man in existence but I love the flavor.
