My God, yes! 😂 I remember reading a comment saying that throughout the whole show, so many people tried to kill Sui YuanQing, but in the end, he literally had to kill himself to finally die. That man was impossible to kill 😂. Also, I absolutely LOVED Gongsun's confession to the Grand Princess. And THAT kiss between Changyu and Zheng... 🤭 What a moment. Such a GREAT episode!!

I agree with you. The whole show has been great so far. Qi Min's mother burned his face, making him unrecognizable, in order to pass him off as Prince Changlin's son. She saw it as the only way to ensure his survival during the regime change 17 years ago.

finally a long real satisfying kiss for our couple bec my goodness i waited long for that kiss, from their little candy kiss, to the angry forced kiss, to their little reunion kiss, and goodbye kiss, i was like give me moreeee, and the reuters from that kiss scene was longer and i have seen it in all angles man that is not just a kiss, it's kissè love our second couple too, princess and gongsun, they are such a great addition to the show, which contrast xie zheng & changyu always glad to hear that you are enjoying the show! and agree that an ending really does affect a show and just like you, I have seen various ways of how shows go through different stages.

i like how you caught on that li huaiqin is huaian's brother from the name, korea and china has similar tradition of naming siblings close to each other like changyu & changing; yuanhuai & yuanqing; huaian & huaiqin; shu (princess) & sheng (emperor)

Li Huaiqin is a totally unnecessary character. I think the only reason for him to show up this late in the show is for the details he revealed in his dialogue.

I hope there will be another poll for chinese drama and i would love to recommend the first jasmine, its new and almost finished. The story is unique and for someone who really loves to go deep and really take time to understand the plot, i know you will love it. I do hope this gets a chance

This really was the highlight of the series for me. I think most people agree this show was very well written up through here. The reception to the ending was a bit mixed. Joe has the best comprehension of the plot out of any reviewer or reactor I've watched, so I think he'll appreciate it more than most.

I personally feel it would be good for him to take a break from the historical romance drama genre since he is watching POJ and POB back to back. A nice change would be a pure political thriller (Nirvana in Fire), political with martial arts (Joy of Life), historical fantasy romance (Love in the Clouds), historical slice of life (The Story of Minglan), or shorter modern romcoms (Hidden Love, The First Frost, etc...)

Something else youll see a lot in chinese dramas (maybe similar to korean dramas like WLGYT) parents give their children very “similar” sounding names (at least to americans). So like the sui family, their kids were Yuan - Qing / Hui. You see a lot that they keep the first character and change the second to reflect the parents wishes for who their child will grow up to be (kind of like what jin did with his henchmen 😂)

I'm with DramaWatcher. It they stay in the historicals to switch up the genres a bit. Nirvana In Fire is GOAT'ed. I don't know if he is ready for The Story of Minglan. Joy of Life we are waiting on Season 3.

On this episode the volume was really low for me. Can you please turn it up a little more the actually show? I had my tv upto volume 40 to hear it better than a whisper, but then when you talk its way to loud. 😁

Or a gongdou drama like 'Story of Yanxi Palace' and its refreshing to focus on the Qing Dynasty as its not as common in cdramas

shows great, my first cdrama, my moms been trying to get me on them. youre prob the ideal reactor to watch my 1st one through... also re fully fleshed out story, i mean to be fair its 40 ep so yea they have the time lol
