Ferdinand's cape is from another Duchy called Dunklefelger which are a whole Duchy full of sports fanatics (sort of like Sparta really). He obtained in it a sports event (Ditter) against them. They're trying to get the cape back because Ferdinand has their Archduke's cape and the Dunklefelger Aub is wearing Ferdinand's Ehrenfest cape. It was all due to a bet that Dunklefelger lost.

I will put a disclaimer here just in case Joe reads my/this comment! Careful! While we will eventually get to the cape, as the anime hints at, your remembering of the novel is incorrect. I won't say anything more than it's not the Aub's cape he wears and the Aub does not wear Ferdinand's cape. Like I said, we will eventually get to this plot point in the next season or two if they continue adapting. Sorry if this is out of pocket, I dont wanna be one of THOSE LN guys here, correcting and spoiling Joe. Delete my comment if you feel it pushes things too far!

I mean it's based on a medieval European setting so young girls being raised to be wives for political marriages to men a tad older was super common. Although in this case Lutz, Karstedt, Sylvester, and Ferdinand all know Myne's actual age. Myne is older than Ferdinand even.

Maybe it was the Aub's son then. I just know he was a very high ranking person from Dunklefelger. They're obsessed with playing against Ferdinand, because he's one of the few real challengers they have. To be clear, they LIKE Ferdinand, a lot.

I'm pretty sure Ferdinand is less than 15 years Rosemyne's senior. He's actually pretty young, but a prodigy.

TBF it's a bit different than diddy tensei. Rozemyne isn't grooming anyone as she's the younger one here, but she's literally mentally same-ish age as Ferdinand is (Ferdinand is 22 IIRC, and we know Urano graduated from college & was about to start her job as a librarian before she died), and Ferdinand knows this as well because of S1 ending. After all, the only reason pedophilia etc are illegal, is because of being rape by default (someone mentally immature can't by default consent, so it defaults to rape if you seggs someone like that), because of the mental aspect of things, not because of physical reasons. It's much the same as why people below X age can't vote, drink, drive etc, because those generally all have 1 thing in common, which is lack of mental maturity to be able to consent to various autonomy related things etc. Hence all the "she was mature for her age" BS excuses you see diddlers use IRL all the time (and even the iconic Lolita book by Vladimir Nabokov back in the 60s that all the iconic tropes derive from, has the protagonist/POV diddler character use these excuses about the titular "Lolita" (a pet name he uses for her, rather than her actual name Dolores, from which the Spanish diminutive "Lolita" is derived from) quite often, among other excuses adjacent) when caught etc, but IRL unlike fantasy magic BS can't actually make that possible, so they are clearly just copium on the diddler's part, unlike in any theoretical magic-based settings. Maybe this will become a more interesting theoretical future legal case if in the future mind-transfer technology becomes a reality? Food for thought for future legislators/lawyers/judges ig.
