SEASON 2 BABY! What a way to kick off season 2 with two banger episodes which are part of a larger 3 part (at least I think it will be) a 3 part arc! The Homecoming was a great introduction to the new season showcasing what looks to be a little bigger of a budget, an interesting introduction to the faction known as "The Circle", and some devious Cardassian ploys which I hope have implications over the season in some way. The actors also all felt a lot more comfortable with their characters which was cool to see.

The Circle was a step up from the first episode in many ways to me. It had some great reveals and developments that really pushed the story into the unexpected at times and the slow yet frantic pacing kept me on the edge of my seat. By the time the episode ended, I was punching my fist in the air in pain because waiting another week to watch the resolution to this arc is going to be a long wait!

Season 2 is off to an insane start. While I believe the show will slow down after the next episode "The Siege," I do think it will be better than season 1 overall as everything about these two episodes says to me that everyone in this show on and behind the camera are much more comfortable with how things work on DS9.

Yeah, it's a trilogy, which is pretty rare for Star Trek. It doesn't really have a huge impact on the overall DS9 plot as far as I remember, which makes it feel a bit odd in retrospect. Not that it's irrelevant, but unlike other multi-parter you could skip it and still understand what's going on.

This was their first shot at dipping their toe in continuing stories. It takes the characters introduced in the finale and expands them. This showed everybody DS9 could do bigger stories in the years ahead. It kept peoples hopes up while they burned off a lot of filler episodes in the first half of the season.

I don't mind that it won't be super connected to anything else because it is a ton of fun and it shows me how good the show can get when stories last longer than an episode!
