The first voicemail you got from Cpt. Hooblioballs (not sure how to spell that) is from a guy I have heard of from a bball podcast No Dunks formerly known as The Starters (who had a show on NBATV). A podcast crossover I never knew would have happened. Small word! Love you guys. Turn up. Awesome

2-player board game recommendations: Patchwork, Fox in the Forest, Jaipur, Thunder & Lightning, and for "serious" gamers there's Sekigahara (block war game for 2 people). Games that play well for 2 people, but can play more: Arboretum, Parks, Welcome To Wingspan, Tzolkin, and Glass Road. Online Board Games: www.boardgamearena.com (easy to play with friends across the internet, some simpler games I recommend are Kingdomino, 6nimmit, and Incan Gold!

If you're getting tired of Jackbox Games, you should check out Use Your Words. Similar style of web app party game that's mostly captioning foreign film clips and stock photos

If you want to dip your toe in the truly nerdy world of wargaming, Blackstone fortress is great board game, you can even play solo. Dope models too.

Pssst.. Leave the hints of the celebrities without masks in the comments below

Damn, pandemic doughboys doubles are unlistenable. It’s nothing but video game talk. I pay for hog talk! Give me hog talk!!!

My wife and I love board games. My recommendations would be Segrada and Azul, two similar games that are simple to pick up but have lots of variety. Two player card games I’d suggest would be deck building games: Dominion and Star Realms (if you’ve ever played Slay the Spire, same concept).

Ben

Hate to break it to Yusong but they did answer my question about uniforms last time! Mitch was in a better mood this time though.

Halp

That's my hat baby yeah! No really

Here are some great multiplayer games that also work very well for 2 players: Splendor, Welcome To, The Castles of Burgundy, Five Tribes, Azul, Quacks of Quedlinburg! Board Games are kind of like video games but IRL.

Is it just my newness to the doubles, or has Yusong developed a smokers laugh during quarantine?

I’ve been enjoying playing with friends online at boardgamearena.com. You can play digitized versions of great games and it works really well. I like Terra Mystica, Tzolk’In and Carcassone.

Also, might be too close to home right now. But Pandemic is a really fun co-op board game. It's players vs the Pandemic using resources together to win. Helps avoid the possible heated competition something like Risk might bring out lol.

2 player games I've been into during quarantine: Race for the Galaxy (my favorite) Arkham Horror (card game) Disney's Villainous Pandemic There are also a ton of digital versions of board games on steam but I have no idea what ones are good

Deck builders are good times for two players. I really like Ascension, but there's thousands of different ones with different themes and stuff. Wiger should check out the game chess, he's basically a less charismatic Deep Blue so he'd probably be pretty good at it.

My time to shine! Been an avid board gamer for a few years now, but if we're being honest, my group has slacked a bit since one of us had to go have a kid. Recommendations for good games if you want to level up past Monopoly and Clue: Settlers of Catan - usually one of the first games that people are introduced to when they find out about this world. Basic enough for anyone, but a good amount of strategy involved. Ticket to Ride was mentioned in the episode, and is a great starter game. Lords of Waterdeep - this is my favorite game that takes about an hour. You and your opponents run a network of Wizards, Spies, and Nobles in a medieval setting. Worker placement type game with a lot of strategy that gets really intense in the final few rounds. There's also a set number of rounds, which keeps the game going at a good pace and doesnt take forever. Highly recommend this one. Flashpoint: Fire Rescue - a cooperative game where you are fire fighters putting out a burning building and trying to save people and their pets from inside. Camel Up - camel racing in a Egyptian setting. You play as camel racing enthusiasts betting on the outcomes of the race. Very fun, highly recommend. Smaller/cheaper/quicker games: Sushi Go - A deck builder where you try to have the most appetizing meal. love this one, very quick. lots of strategy. Love Letter: a deduction game where you try to guess what characters other people have while keeping your character secret. Each card/role has specific actions which you can use to your advantage, but the actions may give away your role .I LOVE this game. No Thanks! - a game where the point is to have the lowest possible score. The cards are numbered 3-35, you each get 11 tokens that you can use to pass on the current card. if you have no tokens, you are forced to pick up the card, adding to your point total. Each token lowers your score by 1 points at the end of the game. For such a basic game, there is so much strategy involved. I've had a negative score before.

I'm surprised no one has recommended Dungeons & Dragons! I'd love to hear Nick, Mitch, Yusong, and Emma play a little mission or something haha I wondering what they would play as?

dc

my board game recommendation: Talisman! It's a board game from the 80's and it rocks. There's a Talisman: Digital Edition on Steam too and it's awesome. They are continually updating it too

Mitch’s super deep pull of Homers “time/matter” made my wife and I laugh

Rachel H.

Truly wild that those Hot Dog on a Stick uniforms are real and not made up for a TV show/movie

DonkeyWitness

Wife and I have been playing Patchwork—a great two person board game!

TayLor HanSon

Keyforge is a fun 2 player card game! And ones mentioned above, Quacks of Quedlingburg, Castles of Burgandy, Wingspan, No Thanks!, and Pandemic I can get behind!

Patrick Vaughn

Drinks & Daggers! A cooperative, strategy, drinking game created by Greetings Adventurers! podcast. My partner is a big fan and I've only listened a couple times, but still enjoy the world and characters. Also, the drinking mechanism is really clever. Cheers!

I'm tired of waiting. I want to hear Mr or Mrs Wiger. C'mon Nick! Mike did it!
