We're recording an XXL Feedbag this weekend. Got any lingering questions for the 'boys? Post 'em here or email doughboyspodcast at gmail dot com

Comments

Enid Strict

You guys have asked other guests in the past what their last meals would be, what would you two have has your last meal if sentenced to death?

Joseph Marzola

What are your guys' standard non-podcast meals during the week?

Benjamin Hurley

When is Wiger.Fries, where we can directly annoy Wiger with questions, coming?

Snappingturo

What are your favorite video game related foods? Either as power ups or items?

Rafael Gaitan

Dear Doughboys, Greetings from San Diego! You've done live shows before and had guests, but do you have plans to ever expand to regional chains? With local guests in those regions? If you ever come to San Diego we have Wings and Things and I'll be happy to treat you. Love the show, brings me great joy, #spoonnation forever. Yours, Rafael Gaitan @bearsurprise ps: In-N-Out is rated at best.

Alexander Firanek

Are you actually considering a live episode for In N Out v. Wendy's?

Brett Phillips

What restaurant, that normally is a sit-down, eat-in sort of affair, has the best food fit for leftovers?

Bobby

How did you guys first meet and did you bond over food or Star Wars first? Mitch: Was Nick's autism off putting? Nick: Was Mitchell's odor off putting?

Jimmy Eppley

What podcasts do you guys listen to on the regular, if you guys even listen to podcasts?

SemperWiFI

There have been many famous creative duos throughout history, if you were to describe each other as one person in a famous duo who would it be? ie. Mitch is Sonny to Wiger's Cher.

Steven Brydle

Hey Doughboys! My Pitch: Mitch and Wiger wage a civil war to claim who is "The Ultimate Doughboy" a title that only lasts one year. Wild cards are allowed a chance to win the title as well: Evan, Armen, BUG MAYNE????. Categories to score points: Contributions to the podcast, punctuality, Friendship, Creativity. Add a fan voting aspect? Maybe we'll find out who has what it takes to be The Ultimate Doughboy? much love, Steven Brydle (og monster squad-er and burger boy)

Felipe Sobreiro

Were Mitch's lines in Love season 2 ad-libbed? Specifically the ones when his character fantasizes about killing women. That felt weirdly sincere.

Nathan Hill

Why are you ignoring my requests for another Bug Mane episode? It's of dire importance that I hear from my cute lil bug baby again. If you don't have Bug Mane on the show in the next 5 episodes.... say goodbye to Wally and Irma

erin murphy

Have you ever eaten a food you were truly afraid of? Example: San-nakji, which is live octopus.

Pepperoncini

Fuck, marry, kill: Fries, Burgers, Soda and your reasons why, please.

Jesse Garcia

Shouldn't it be called meowments instead of moments of meow?

Dillon Condon

What place would you guys never go back to? Besides Carrows

Sadie Teel

What's the most disappointing way someone has screwed up your fast food order? I just recently got the biscuits left out of a Popeyes meal. #Beveragebrigade

Jesse Garcia

What is your guy's favorite Diddy Kong racing character?

Joey O

To Mitch, D'angelo's Number Nine; best chain restaurant sub of all-time? An East coast tour is essential. Come home , bring your robot buddy and let's disect the east coast!

atf_pupper

Would you be willing to go on the road to document the last surviving locations of former national chains? Hot 'n Now (formerly owned by Taco Bell) is down to its very last shop. And Rax Roast Beef is in the single digits too. I'm worried that the 'boys might never have a chance to taste these endangered delights.

Samael

What's your take on McD's digital menu boards?

Kyle Hoover

I love you guys, thanks for the great podcast. When will Natalie be a guest on the show?

y3s

Better: "smash" burgers (thin, diner style), or "tavern" burgers (super thick, fancy style)?

Jet Puff

Ok so this has been fought on twitter for months, but Reese's cups: candy bar or candy oddity? Clearly in the name and shape Reese's cups are cups and not bars, this is obvious. But the packaging was designed very specifically to include it in the bar category, and it is a staple of any candy bar section. So is this debate just a long semantics argument ignoring its function as a clear candy bar? Or do we need to create a whole new category for Reese's because it is round? Also I need to hear some mount crunchmore's, fav candy bars.

Pat

What countries food do you think there should be more chains of? (Italian, Chinese, so on!)

Alex Goodnough

Hi guys, What are your favorite dollar menu items? My go to is to get a dollar cheese burger and a dollar chicken sandwich. I sometimes combine them into one sandwich, or eat them separately.

Chris Hickey

Any more info about the once hinted TV show?? Thanks!

Neil Rhoades

Have you guys ever had fast food classics adapted by nicer, non-chain eateries or restaurants? For example Lil Woody's in Seattle had a month when they re-created a lot of classic fast-food burgers. Do you guys support or oppose this concept?

y3s

Also: why does Beverage Boy pronounce Parmesan so strangely?

Pat

Also my pitch for a Doughboys "promotion" The Stanley Cup of Soda! A tournament style breakdown of the best Sodas! It could be one episode a "division" (The fruit flavors, the root beers, standard colas, so on) Wouldn't be as punishing as burgers or fried chicken and could be fun!

Chase

So far it seems the patreon has been incredibly successful and I couldn't be happier for you guys. You're the best podcast that I listen too and Nick don't worry about it going off the rails. We don't mind. But my question is, with how successful the patreon has become, are there any plans for making a Doughboys web series where you'll travel around and review more regional restaurants. And if so, let Susser join in.

Jake Baker

Am I the only one who remembers Wendy's having different burgers and fries a few years ago? It used to be my favorite restaurant, but it's gone down for me since the changes. It's still good, but nowhere near the top for me anymore. I'd love to hear that discussed.

y3s

Also: you should totally do item specific episodes. Not multi-part Munch Madness format arcs, but discrete individual episodes reviewing one item. (Across a couple chains could be interesting but even just a single item like the Burger King Original chicken sandwich, which is fantastic).

Jake Baker

If I were to ask another question though, I noticed an interesting trend whenever they do the Death Row meal question. Almost unanimously, every guest has referenced something home-cooked from their childhood. Do you guys have any thoughts on that? It feels like there's some fascinating connections to be made.

Andrew Hawkins

What's your favorite food to eat while driving? I have to eat on the road a lot and there doesn't seem like a lot of easy options.

Chris Spinney Long

In light of the recent Pepsi ad/clusterfuck what are some of your favorite/least favorite ads featuring chains/soda/etc. Where's the Beef, creepy staring King for burger king, Taco Bell Dog are a few that spring to mind.

Joel Yeomans

How many warm glasses of milk does Wiger drink ever night so he doesn't get tummy rumblies when he goes to sleep?

Kristian Getman

What are some of your favorite brewdogs? I would love to hear a minisode about craft beer and fast food pairings as i fancy my self quite the beverage enthusiast as well.

Liz

I am tired of Mitch talking about how this podcast is derailing his diet. Its a BS excuse. I think you guys should let him off for a month, either just have him neutral co host or have just Wiger & guest and see how much weight he loses when he doesn't have to eat the food. It will be a fun challenge. Like the Low T challenge I hope you guys do!

Emma Dietrich

Have you ever tried a food that you would NEVER eat again, even if you were dying from starvation and it's the only food you have access to?

Bazza

Mitch, as a New Englander, I've always wondered what your thoughts on Moxie are? Drank or Stank?

James Hanna

Greetings, Nick, Mitch, Wolly, Irma and the guest! Thank you for the podcast, it's my favorite. You are doing god's work, in my eyes.

Christopher F

My wife admonishes me whenever I throw a banana peel or apple core out of the car window. What's your take? Litter or beneficial compost?

James Hanna

my question is: what would Nick and Mitch pick for their death row Last Meal?

Len F

Classic question: gravy or icing?

Marc Castellani

Sometimes after a meal you discuss feeling sick (or, as Nick puts it, "having a case of the rumblies") but still give the restaurant 4-5 stars. Does how a meal make you feel afterwards ever factor into your ratings? If food tastes delicious but makes you sick (Jack-in-the-Box tacos?), why do you still crave or recommend it?

Martin Deslauriers

Will you guys ever travel to try some chains you've never tried? I'm in Montreal and I feel there are dozens of chains that would blow you mind and/or be disasters.

Kate Farina

Will Nick's lovely wife Natalie ever be a guest (assuming she wants to)? Would love to know if her opinions significantly differed from Burger Boy's. (Unless Nick is too afraid that she'll run away with Mitch and the cats...)

Robert Davidson

What popular food trend are you guys ready to see disappear forever?

Felipe Sobreiro

When will Mitch realize that the whole show plusNick plus all the guests are all just manifestations of his own insane mind, IDENTITY-style? WAKE UP ALREADY, MITCH!

Colby

sriracha. yay or nay?

Aaron Blankenship

I know both of you guys have some sort of affinity for Disney, specifically Disneyland and Disney World (Disney World is better, sorry Nick!). What are some of your favorite treats at the parks? Any favorite restaurants/quick stops that you recommend people try? My personal favorite is the Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney World. Thanks for the laughs guys!

Donuts

I just ate Wingstop and watched golf all day. Now my stomach is making horrible up noises. You guys are legit ruining my health, but at the same time this Podcast is the best thing thats ever happened to me. Keep up the good work!

AdamBice Inc

Ronald McDonald, Wendy from Wendy's and the Burger King. Who would you Fuck, marry, kill? Please explain each choice.

max croes

When are you going to break this show's coastal bias? Boys from Boston and LA don't know the magic of WhatABurger, Portillos, Culvers, Taco John's or Taco Cabana. It's elitist at best and insulting to Middle America at double best.

Christopher F

How long is too long to wait for a table at a chain restaurant before you bail for drive thru? What's the longest you've ever waited?

max croes

I should add that failure to visit middle America will cause anonymous dudes, who are nameless but definitely good looking, to record their own WaDoughboys episodes complete with purple overalls and zig-zag mustaches.

Pure Guava

If the Star Wars movies were fast food chains which ones would they be and why?

Ryan Carroll

I'll second the request for Nick's lovely wife Natalie as a guest. For some reason , over time in my mind I've hoped that episode 100 will be McDonald's with Natalie. I realize this is more of a request than an actual feedbag question.

Amanda Pleau

Why haven't you nerds mentioned Super Mario Run? I literally can not stop playing.

Aaron Orheim

What's your favorite fast food item that is no longer offered?

Dave Paige

Have you tried Soylent or similar meal replacement drinks? Snack or whack?

Ryan Carroll

So if you guys could pick one fast food/chain item to erase all memory of eating, and then eat it again for the first time and fully remember every aspect of the eating experience, what would it be? It seems like the immediate answers would be the Double Double for Wiger and the Spicy Chicken for Mitch, but upon further thought, do those sandwiches knock out the Big Mac? The Cheesy Gordita Crunch? Huge fan of the show and proud member of the Golden Plate Club - Ryan from Connecticut. PS - I once called Mitch "New England's Suicide Barometer" in a "Roast Spoonman" segment that was read on the podcast and have regretted it ever since. Let's all turn against Susser instead. Fuck you Evan.

Juicy J

When is nick.milk coming?

Justin Stempeck

If you could only use one condiment for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?

Chad Ross

Now that you guys record at the litterbox, where should fans send submissions for snack or whack? Still care of Feral audio?

Justin Stempeck

Alternatively if you could force mitch/wiger to eat one condiment on the rest of their meals what would it be?

Justin Patterson

Has there been an episode that hasn't gone the way that you hoped that you'd send to a Fat Chance Kitchen scenario? What would you like a do over on? Y'know, besides life choices that got you here.

Kevin Gootee

If you can only take one videogame franchise to a desert island, what would you chose? Pre breath of the wild and post botw.

Nick

Nick, we all know that you make a large chunk of your personal income from sponsored tweets. Are you going to branch out to Instagram? Or, as you stated in an earlier interview with Salon, is that still "just something poor people do when they want to be obnoxious?"

Nick

Mitch, would you ever consider writing a spec episode of The Americans?

JOSHUA WHITE

Do you guys get excited about Thursdays? The whole weekend is in front of you! #Thursday

Christopher Hua

Favourite/most memorable Spoonman roast thus far?

John C Escobar

will Natalie or Mitch's mother ever appear on the show?

Marc Bahbahani

Nick: If you could guest on the Simpsons like Mitch, what kind of character would you play? I feel like you could be like, Frank Grimes' brother or something Both: Mount Video Game/Consolemore? Mitch: No question, but you should bring your Bill Clinton impression to Anthony Atamanuik's Comedy Central show

David Lidsky

When ordering at a casual dining chain, how many customizations can you ask for from the menu before you're being a jerk? I say you can make one modification —like asking for dressing on the side. Any more and you deserve to have the servers get your order wrong or worse. What do you think? #haveityourway or #spitonyourgrave?

Jason Kuo

Nick & Mitch - what are some of the movies, shows, books, people, or whatever that shaped your sense of humor? Who are some folks in comedy who're doing great work and deserve more attention?

Adam

AGREED. Mitch needs to take Bill to TV!!.

Adam

Other than Dumbbells, what are your favorite podcasts?

wonderswan

Now that the Tournament of Chompions is tainted by controversy, maybe you guys should rebrand it as a March/April event called Muncha-a-Mania? (that's when Wrestlemania happens)

tturbocatt

If cupcakes are pie, then what are muffins?

Kimberly Bereta

When I was in college, I would regularly slip soufflé cups and salt & pepper shakers into my leftovers container. Are there any items that you have taken from restaurants that weren't really meant to steal? @kimpinaintez

Joseph So

Would you please do the test for low-t thing? Sounds fun.

Ben DeSart

What would you say is the worst customer service experience you've experienced at a restaurant?

Chris Van Goch

Where do you guys draw the line on the "carbs on carbs" issue? I'm talking about things like french fries on sandwiches or in burritos, mashed potatoes and/or stuffing on on turkey sandwiches, rice in burritos, etc. In general I think its stupid but there are a couple of exceptions. Up here in Canada pizza hut offers a "puotine pizza", ehich is litrerally just cheese curds, french fries and gravy on a pizza crust. I've never tried it but it sounds gross as hell; i'd rather have one or the other and keep them separate. Spoon Nation forever, Chris VG

Michael Ficus

How quickly will this Patreon success go to your heads? How off the rails will you go?

Brian Edwards

Would you consider doing a Doughboys Second Chances Tournament, where you revist chains you gave 2 Forks or less to?

Robert Persinger

Hey guys, Do you think the pictures of the food on a chain's menu should more accurately portray the product you get, or should the menu reflect the actual product? Do you care if the burger or sandwich looks more appetizing on the menu then what you get, or do you always assume it will look less appealing when you receive it. Which fast food chain has the best looking food compared to their advertised product, and which one has the worst? Thanks for the great podcast! Please consider a west coast tour at some point. Get in touch with the ladies of My Favorite Murder and ask them how they set theirs up. Washington would love to have you! Robert - Seattle

Mike Turski

Super duper tournament of Chompionships, one round: Wendy's Spicy Chicken vs. Cheesy Gordita Crunch (with fire sauce) vs. Big Mac

Andres Begue

Match movie snacks with specific movies: what's the best popcorn movie, the best skittles movie, and so on.

George Cheetham

In Breath of the Wild, which Divine Beast should I tackle first? And to keep it on point, what snack should I eat whilst I'm doing it?

Phil Brock

Here's a scenario: For some reason The Doughboys are given a moderate budget to develop a video game. All you have to do is come up with the idea. Everything gets taken care of successfully no matter what. But there's one caveat: it has to be food related in some way!! Do you have any ideas?

Ben Violette

Do you think you could ever get Natalie to come on as a guest?

Alex Staniloff

Emailed you guys back in February: The Signature-Menu-Item Dilemma - would love to hear your thoughts!

Matt Grondin

Can you please NOT discuss sechzuan sauce? Thanks.

Greg Falla

Whack or snack: Beyond Burger 'meat'. The commissioner has to prepare it in Mitch's kitchen.

Michael Bender

I have a theory re: Jack in the Box commercials. The theory is that their commercials contain the following subliminal messaging designed to reinforce their brand: each of their commercials contains their mascot "Jack" in a "Box." For example, here's Jack playing raquetball https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlMX4pHJIrs. The raquetball court being very much a box. Why not just have him play tennis, a decidedly un-boxed sport? Again, here is Jack in a movie theater, another room that is essentially a shoebox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbF3IO7T46c. In an effort to seem less like Kenneth Noid, I will admit that there are some holes in my theory. (For example, anytime that he is in a room could arguably be called a box, but the above examples are much more box like than other rooms). But, still, I think it's a strong one and I hang onto it. My question: Do you subscribe to any fast food conspiracies? KFC can't call itself Kentucky Fried Chicken because it doesn't serve actual chicken, Chipotle's E. Coli breakout was an act of corporate espionage, etc.

Ryan Fortcamp

GMO's are one of the most controversial areas of science, specifically in relation to food and agriculture. Humans have been genetically modifying plants and animals for thousands of years through selective breeding. Genetic engineering allows us to take this breeding process a step further by isolating the traits that make food grow bigger and immune to pests. Sounds great, right? Well, GMO critics argue that genetic engineering unleashes a host of unpredictable side effects, producing new toxins, allergens, and carcinogens in its wake. With that being said, my question is this: Nick, would you rather fight 100 duck sized Mitchs or one Mitch sized duck? (at the rate GMOs are being pumped into our food this may not be so Farfetch'd!)

Casey

How much money do you each have in your bank account and in assets?

Shane

As a couple of dudes who have both written for TV shows, what is your best advise to someone looking to go from doing improv to TV writing? Also, what were your paths to getting to where you are now?

Chris Sabo

When I was a kid my parents allowed my siblings and I our choice of restaurants to go to for our birthdays. I alway's chose Ryan's Steakhouse (a buffet chain in the Midwest) and my brother picked Taco Bell. Sister was a wild card. Did you have birthday traditions with chain restaurants growing up?

Mike Louis

What is the most tacos you have ever eaten in one sitting?

Mike

Do you guys have a food that you have eaten so much of, that you are now sick of it? A former favorite food that is now the worst thing ever? A few years ago I would have Popeyes chicken every few days, and now just the thought of it makes me sick. Thanks guys!

Zac Wolf

When I moved to Boston I was introduced to the joy known as "bar pizza"? What are your guys' thoughts on "bar pizza" as well as other non-traditional styles of peatz?

OttoVonBizMarkie

It's 2018. Mitch has finally buckled down to get his diet and exercise on the right track, and transforms himself into a jacked, bona fide hunk, like his hated nemesis Chris Pratt. How do the writers explain Randy's sudden weight loss and handsomeness gain in season four of Love (like they explained Andy's weight loss in Parks and Recreation)? How does the story line for Randy's character change from what they originally envisioned for him? Which character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe does he portray?

Mitch Raeck

What are your favorite and least favorite regular segments on the show? (For example, my favorites are Wiger Challenge and Flavor of the Week)

Christine Moore

What historical period would you guys want to live in food wise? Caveman club-a-meal? Roman bacchalanian? Middle Ages?

SenorScience

Any plans to take Doughboys on the road to review chains outside of the West Coast? Being a New Englander myself I'd be interested to hear if Mitch has anything to say about Papa Gino's.

Jack Bils

Mitch did you ever go to Wegmans when you were at Ithaca? The food court is amazing. Also did you ever try a garbage plate?

Daniel Tomerlin

Who's your guys' go to character in Mario Kart/Mario Party?

Kasper

Fuck/Marry/Kill: Mario, Yoshi, Waluigi

Jeremy mann

Nick how far did you get in stardew? Would also love to see my favorite chain Culver's covered any chance on non-la chains making it on the pcast

NateW

If you had to give up pizza or blowjobs which would you pick?

Squote

Do you have a go-to snack while playing video games?

B

My wife would like to know which chain (for the show or otherwise) has given you both the worst case of the rumblies (with specific attention to paid gas and bowel related issues). She is a RN and thrives on human misery.

Ted Heffner

Rank your top 10 Nintendo 64 games

Andy

Have you ever eaten at a restaurant, and the weather outside was akin to an epic disaster movie?

Drew Careymore

Nick, who would you like th Lakers to draft? Mitch, same question to you, but with the Celtics.

Mike Rhodes

Nick, did you get the homeless guy to fuck you in his tent in Stardew Valley? This is a real thing that happens if you're nice to him.

Benjamin Martin

What has been your favorite licensed tie in between a movie and a chain restaurant ?

Benjamin Martin

What is your guys' favorite toy from a kid's meal during your childhood?

Evan McBroom

Did you ever walk through the drive thru at a fast food restaurant and try to order?

DartSpieg

If in one of Mitch's future apocalyptic scenarios, podcasts about food and Star Wars were outlawed so Doughboys had to pivot to a new topic, what would the shortlist of topics be?

Tom Devine

I've been a big man my whole life, I am looking at getting healthy and shedding some pounds, but the Doughboys is my favorite podcast. I live in South Dakota, the city I live in(Sioux Falls) has 90% of the chains you talk about, and I feel like I have to try the restaurant you guys talk about each week. What are some good tips on balance and making good choices with my eating habits? (I just started listening to the Dumbbells, Doughboys sister podcast, and it's for sure helping) (FYI: I recently left SpoonNation for the Burger Brigade)

Michael Schmersahl

Now that the weather's getting warmer, we're about to enter a glorious time known as cookout season. If there was a fantasy draft of cookout foods, which ones would you choose (and which ones would be left in the proverbial stink?)
