Percussion cap Pirate pistols! These things are SUPER interesting! I think you'll find that my son is the real purpose of this video. He's becoming a wonderful young man and I was excited that he wanted to participate!

Thank you for the always great videos 🤘🏻.

Exciting. Can't believe I didn't learn you had a podcast until your last episode. Been thoroughly enjoying catching up on the back episodes of NDQ while working (delivering mail). Thanks for all you do! 🙏 Matt

Whoa! Those are some cool guns! What a lovely father and son video ”backyard testing” some antique weaponry. Would like to see more videos with your family, Destin. Your son is well mannered and extremely funny!

Jonas Wahlen

I see you went from "rings in rings in rings" to "clamps on clamps on clamps". Great video, it was great to see you bond and create memorable moments with your son!

Mary Wolfe

Loved seeing your son in the video. He's such a nice, respectful young man. Good job dad.

rocketFarmer

Fantastic video Destin, super cool pistols. Awesome to see you make videos with your son. Envy of lots of Dad's on this side of the screen. Keep up the great work.

cep

That was fun to watch!

Having moved to the south I've been encouraging my kids to start saying sir and ma'am. I've been saying it too. Nice to hear your son saying sir!

I think there's some bad habits that need correcting! I taught myself to shoot when I was 23 and started working as an engineer so I had the luxury of not forming bad habits. I would say (I totally get this is probably not the best trigger) dry firing would help a ton and if you can get a laser for that bore you'll learn a lot. The biggest thing I spotted is that you have the trigger in the 'wrong' part of your finger, you want the trigger on the pad of your finger and then it's lots of practice slowly adding pressure, pulling straight back and in this case a very long hold. I would also say, two hands are better than one. I did a ton of dry fire when I was learning and I was an adult so I drove a lot of good fundamentals down deep... and this is why I'll never be a good golfer, because I did the opposite. Trigger on the pad, slowly adding pressure, straight back, be surprised by the bang but hold, be surprised by the second bang but continue to hold. Go visit Hickok45 for a cross over/ton of fun?

beautiful shots! (slowmo & pistols). I really enjoyed watching your son enthusiasm and passion! i guss the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. can i ask for one favor??? can you send me a link for that polaroid 600/SX-70 for the Mamiya RZ67 ?

Sean Corbett

The flame that comes out of the pistol, in slow mo, is an art form in and of itself.

Looks like the Polaroid back is made by Zinstax. Url-> Zins.tax

Thanks man! I checked their website and found the product but couldn't understand what kimd of film is compatible.

Kyle Mansfield

I cracked up at the super up-close view of your sons enthusiasm when he shot the pistol. Excellent video and kind of the essence of why I started watching way back in the balloon van days lol.

Patrick Johnson

This was such a great video. I recently lost my dad suddenly and unexpectedly. We loved watching your channels together and talking about everything you were doing. He never really told us directly how proud of us he was. But he told anyone who listen how proud he was of his kids. And what a great platform you have to tell everyone how proud you are.

Evan Moon

I want to see inside of that three barrel gun to watch what happens when you pull the trigger. I’m sure that would be very hard. you would have to make a clear version of the gun

Donald J Arndt

Is there a smokeless powder you can use?

Nashguy207

Great video. You son is a very nice young man. I can tell he is raised in a family of respect, love and moral and Christian values. Hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving!

Kurtis Moss

Well done again Destin. (And the video was good too.) As a dad of three young ones, I’m praying and working hard to ensure they turn out something like your son. What a wonderful young man. Thanks for including us on what seemed to be one of the most epic father son hang outs!

Laminar Flow Shotgun! Hey Destin, here's a new gun build idea. What would it take to get a shot gun to fire in a way that the shot stays together rather than spreading out? I realize that defeats the purpose of a shotgun but wouldn't that be interesting to try? Here's a way to combine two of your favorite things - guns and laminar flow. I would guess that you would need a much longer barrel, but how long? Is there a length where you lose too much energy along the barrel and something goes wrong? Would the length needed depend on the size of the shot in the shell? An 8 ft 12 gauge would be pretty cool looking, regardless.
