Please forgive me if this is an annoying post. I wanted to let you know that I'm about to tell the email list about the Smarter Scrubber... and I wanted to tell you (the Patrons) first in case you were hoping to get one. The email list is approximately 100,000 people, so I'm thinking we may run out of inventory once I blast it out. I was going to give you a heads up a couple of days in advance in case you were thinking about it. The attached video is an edit I made to the original video I posted here on Patreon.

Thanks for supporting here on Patreon! I hope you're as excited about the upcoming nuclear series as I am! There were a lot of interesting people who reached out after the first episode!

Thanks,

Destin

Happy sales! Let us know when you need distributors I have at least one in Boston area.

Roehrick Life

Already have mine and bought my parents one for Christmas. Love it!!

Pete Magill

Already received two! Thanks!

smartereveryday

I’m interested to see if this project ends up being viable on its own. It’s so expensive to make wholesale pricing for distributors is difficult.

Daryl

I literally just got a new grill today about 30 min ago 😆 I’m in Florida so it’s always grilling season! Love supporting small American 🇺🇸 businesses.

Chris Brown

Thanks for the heads up. I've had mine for a while now. I might suggest a slight change if possible to use chain mail rings with square profile to give a sharper scraping angle. I'm pleased with mine. Too often now, especially as people move to shopping on large platforms like Amazon, it seems there is a "race to the bottom" on quality and price in order to make the sale. Finding quality made products, or even being able to determine in advance if something is of good quality, is becoming harder. Thank you.

GT LaBorde

Destin - I bought the scrubber. But, when is the best time to scrub the grill? Is it just after finishing a cook and the grill is still hot? Is it between cooks when the grill is cold? Is it when you are about to put meat on for the next cook and the grill is hot again? I'm thinking there is some science here - feels like a future episode!

Jeremiah Cawthon

If you don’t buy one and your cook on a grill, smoker, or blackstone. YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!!!

Brad Day

Congrats! It's such a amazing feeling getting something you made out into the world on a scale larger than ones and twos. I'm sitting in my office looking at the production floor for an EMS training product I invented and still can't believe how far we've come. Great work, Destin!

smartereveryday

Haha... you don't want to melt the head for sure, so I'd say just before you fire it up!

Jeremiah Cawthon

I am in Florida and my grilling season is year round!!!!

Bryan Butz

Thank you, Destin. It makes me very happy to see you helping to bring back true American manufacturing. The scrubbers I've got are top notch. I will be gifting one to my Father who is a fabricator for his birthday. I'm sure he will be as impressed as I am. I've only had a chance to use it on some pans inside but so far it works great. Keep up the amazing work.

Payperheirplain

I've got mine and I use it primarily for cleaning cast iron, which is where it shines. I will say if bits of food get stuck under the rings it's a bit of a pain to clean with how tight the rings are to the body, but other than that it works great as a case iron scrubber. It's probably my number 2 favorite none bristle grill brush still behind the scrub daddy brush simply because no brush is the best at everything. Pairing the two up makes grill clean up a snap. Smarter brush hits the big stuff, scrub daddy gets between the grill grates.

smartereveryday

So to make sure I understand, you're saying the wire itself which is welded into rings would have a square profile? It would still be a ring, but with a square cross section?

Jeremiah Cawthon

Can’t say enough good things about the product

smartereveryday

Have you thrown it in the dishwasher? Maybe try that? We tested it so you could.

Payperheirplain

I didn't consider it. I wound up using toothpicks and running water which worked quite well. I am able to flex it just enough to get the tiny bits of food to break free. I'll try the dishwasher next time.

Payperheirplain

I will add that I do believe this is a great product. No product will ever be 100% perfect, but this one comes very close.

adam sisk

love mine! anybody know what material is in the head? I'm assuming rubber. i prefer to scrub the grill hot so i've been hesitant with this because it seems like rubber but I'm not sure.

Farid Aziz

Please ship to Canada, Canadians are still BFF❤️

smartereveryday

It’s a food grade silicone. I can get you the exact specs. The hard plastic head is poly propylene, so it has a pretty high melting point, but it will not be as high as your grill.

Chris Brown

That's exactly right. Each ring instead of being round wire would be square with 1 or 2 exposed 90 degree edges to better scape.

George Reese

Wouldn’t miss it. Gonna be a good one.

Stephanie Stanton

Got mine! At least two friends have purchased through the link I shared through socials a while back. Loved the hand written thank you note. Looking forward to a v2 with a shorter handle for cleaning cast iron, etc. Happy to see more manufacturing in the US

Dan & Jen Baizel

I would love the scrubber, but have no need of it. It's a little overkill for cast iron and I am a bit ashamed to admit I don't have a grill.

Michael Landis

I got mine, thanks! Some feedback: 1) too long to fit in the drawer of my BBQ island. 2) parts of the handle are a little sharp. 3) my grill has round rod grated, it cleans the top very well but cannot get down in between to well. I can send more info if it helps. Keep up the good work!

Sam Cyanide

I'm sorry but I still have kinda a bad taste in my mouth after 4privacy... I still like your videos though and understand circumstances change but it's just a bummer

0zrow四

Got one last time you mentioned it, and my dad loves it! Great product!

Gilbert Breen

I bought mine back in December and it has been working great. Fortunately, Las Vegas weather usually allows for year-round grilling. So is the recommended way to clean the head to separate from the handle and put it in the dishwasher?

Don Rude

Not an annoying post! Thanks for the update. My dad and I appreciate our scrubbers. I'd really love to see you get in touch with Cody James ( x.com/codyaims ) as he is ALSO trying hard to support toold+die USA manufacturing and training new people up.

sue capps

I am not allowed to have a grill where we live and it is not annoying post because I would definitely buy one if we were allowed

MARK ROWLAND

Destin, are you selling abroad? I wasn’t able to select UK when I tried to order. Thanks.

Kris Pockell

I used mine to re-season one of my beat up cast iron pans. I added a bit of salt and it worked great!

Jonathan-Stephanie+Daniel-Anna-Lydia Harris

In the video he mentions at this point they cant ship overseas, but it sounds like they are working on it. Also he mentions there are redirect services if you so wish.

Jerod DeJong

Ordered one for me and one for my brother! I'm so excited to finally get my hands on one!

Jonathan-Stephanie+Daniel-Anna-Lydia Harris

I ordered three when you first announced it here! Shipping timing was great, I was able to give them for Christmas to my dad and father-in-law. I haven't heard anything bad yet, though I haven't yet had the chance to really use it yet myself.

Sean Newton

I got mine and love it best scrubber on the market

David J Ray

I missed the original launch, happy to get one from this batch!!! Just put in my order.

Michael Landis

Between the part where you grip it and the head, the portion that is U shaped. Those edges are a little sharp and If you grab there and your hand slips it could cut you. I could message a pic if that helps.

Joan Ware

Our son ordered one and gave it to his Dad for birthday. Can't wait to try it

Kacey Christiansen

Just ordered one! Thanks for the reminder Destin! My wife was just telling me about possible wire bristles from our old scrubber and grilling season is just around the corner!

Rob

Do you have a portal for "smarter" product concepts that accepts submissions? The units I purchased all went for Christmas Gifts :) - TY fantastic product

SlvrScoobie

#alreadyhaveone yeah I bought mine late last year, works great definitely worth the price

Matt D

the scrubbing head is removable from the handle for cast iron no? +1 to american manufacturing come back, buy it once for life rather than buying disposable junk from overseas

Stephanie Stanton

I’ll give it another shot. I really struggled to get the head unscrewed from the handle. Thanks for the tip!

Patronix Games

Just bought 1 for myself, and 2 more for my 2 sons-in-law..ssseess? How do ya make that plural…😀

iliketodrawdinosaurs

Wow I had somehow missed all these posts. This is so cool. I've been working in manufacturing for 12 years now (piston plant, bearing plant with progressive die presses, now in medical device where we do a lot of injection molding) so it's super cool to see you learning these processes and making a product! Awesome work!

Coheed2313

Just got mine, thanks for the heads up. One idea for Mach 2: put a brushed finish on the handle so the folded edges clean up and are less sharp.

Anthony

How sharp is it? This is one of the first things that came to mind when looking at the design

Anthony

Hey Destin! This is so awesome! I'm wondering, would this would be something okay for porcelain coated grill grates? I have a Traeger Smoker and that's what it uses but recommends nylon or wood brushes. As a side note, it would be nice to have an FAQ page for this type of info (ie what type of material is and isn't okay, can it go in the dishwasher, what materials are used, etc). If it can be used with a porcelain grill grates, I have a friend who I'm for sure buying one of these for (can't get him to stop using those dang wire brushes). Thank you for making this!

KINGs Papa

I'm Afraid I'll never see one being Canadian 😆 the fees would be way too much to import. But it looks great!!

Cultured Punk

Got an idea… I use chain mail rag for my cast iron pans and I didn’t realize how tight this chain mail was until I got this brush. It’s perfect to unscrew from the grill handle and use in my cast irons as well. Would you be down for making a modified version or a screw on palm handle if you unscrewed the long handle. If not I already have an idea to make a quick metal handle to go in place of the long handle if I want to swap for inside use. Can I buy a second head without the handle? If not i may just have to buy a second one.

J.W. Ramp

Sorry for the unrelated comment here… thought it might be the quickest way to send a message over. And looking closer at the product page, I believe some of them DO have wireless chips :( Maybe not the perfect fit, but could be a market worth digging into - good luck!

Coheed2313

It’s sharp enough to notice. But probably safe enough to handle.

adam sisk

destin i've been using this grill brush for a couple months now on bbq and a flat top griddle. works great! i have one piece of feedback which unfortunately will be a deal breaker for me to re-purchase or not. the rounded design prevents me from getting into the corners of the grill or griddle. i need something that i can get into the corners as well. for 98% of the surface this is great but it always leaves behind the corners

Richard Rastetter

When's the manufacturing video coming out! Loved the teaser you gave to that

Samuel Svendsen

How do you make cool products like this? 😲
