Fulfilling the Blood Oath Covenant(TM)

Notidee

New supporter here. Blood Oath fulfilled. Sadly, cupcakes are not a big thing on sunday in Strasbourg and I don't have an oven.

Invisible Jazz

Great vid - shared! Tilting your head is a good way to try n work out verticals - clever dogs :P Never knew you could mess up your audio positioning so badly by messing with your ears though - fun games!

Chris

Blood oath fulfilled. Apparently, I am psychic or you time-traveled my oath, because I've been supporting you a long time, but oh well. ;)

Zachary Perry

Been watching your videos for a long time. Blood oath fulfilled.

Adam Spangler

Dogs' floppy ears are a result of domestication, and I'm assuming that kills their ability to resolve direction from spectral cues. Do undomesticated canines, like wolves and foxes, which have stiff, upright ears, not need to do the head tilt?

juan E aponte

Destin where are you going in colombia?! I'm from colombia and would love to know how you like it there.

Jan

I read a text on a youtube video and apparently that means that I have to sign up to patreon now. You really have to be careful these days. Well, it was about time anyway.

John Ashcraft

I got smarter today and also read some forbidden things. It's amazing how we can read small text that has been compressed so far that most characters are indistinct and we mostly just interpret the shape and length of the words. I've been a patron for a while now.

Daniel Johnson

Nice shot! So did you record the scope zeroing too?

Rob MacKenzie

I already subscribe, I'm already patreon... Sorry to see so much drama on youtube comments about the rifles etc. There's lots of sane, responsible gun owners who know what you're doing is safe. Thanks so much for continuing to create such amazing videos Destin, you're keeping the internet classy.

Sharkdog58

Blood oath covenant signed. (Fits well with the other educational stuff I support, but you know this means I can't also support NDQ, right?)

Quester

Youtube comments looked a bit dangerous so I thought I'd post here :) I'm already a Patreon so I guess my blood oath covenant is fulfilled right? Fantastic video Destin, I was all giddy about sharing the knowledge once I'd watched it. Never thought about vertical resolution before and the trick dogs do was the first thing I thought of once I'd put my mind to thinking about it. Oh, and nice shot by your sister, even if she did mean to hit the branch!

Clifton Ballad

You win, the blood oath is signed. Your sister is an amazing shot, the world needs more women of her caliber...

Stephen Wilkus

Dustin, Thank you for another fascinating video. This one is particularly interesting because my daughter was born with unilateral hearing (no nerve to one ear, fine on the other side). More recently, I've had a growth removed from one of my ears (an acoustic neroma or vestibular schwannoma) which cost me all hearing (and balance inputs) from one side. I've been trying to learn from my daughter how to improve my acoustic location skills while also trying out a BiCROS hearing aid. (wireless transmission of sound from the bad ear to the "good" ear.) Your pointers to articles and the general topic are of more personal interest than many other videos of yours. But all are greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work.

Chip C

Fulfilling my "blood oath covenant". Seriously, this is easier than "building a cupcake" (? - it was blurry).

Shawn Boudreaux

I should have stopped reading... I knew good and well I didn't have a cupcake in the house. But I'm happy to be here. I have been a cheerleader for these videos for years. Now I'm finally throwing some money at it. Flip chickens and twirl cats!

smartereveryday

I did not, I wasn't 100% sure I was going to make the video when I recorded the intro. Turns out it was really fun! You never know where things are going to go when you start something like this.

Louis D. Monaghan, Jr.

High ho... High ho... A reading I will go, no wait... cupcakes? Who has time to bake cup cakes, especially ones with good laminar flow? Thanks so much for your videos. I enjoy your positive outlook and boundless enthusiasm for all the things that make the world 'tick'. Cheers.

smartereveryday

Thanks for the kind words Robert! Yeah, never read the comments.

smartereveryday

Yeah the comments got a bit dicey on this one. I was rather impressed by the shot myself!

smartereveryday

Man that's fascinating. Does it change the sound to the good ear?

Tom Murphy

So, I'm now a patreon because I like to freeze frame your videos and read everything. So... well played sir, well played!

Tyler Boespflug

Finally catching up my video subscription feed. I'm here because I read your one second disclaimer clip to the end.

Tyler Boespflug

I also subscribed to The Sound Traveler. I'm blown away by your experiment. I watched the Munich video and I felt like I was wandering around the marketplace of Bonn again. I did that a lot when I spent a year abroad in Bonn about 10 years ago. I haven't felt that feeling in a long time.

Richard Wilmot

Blood Oath Covenant(TM) small print brought me here...

Aaron Latham

Thanks for everything Destin, I am also here due to your small print!
