The initial impetus for this project was to provide a platform to teach people techniques that they may have only read about in the past. I also wanted to provide secondary follow up videos giving overviews of how I paint certain models, different legions as well as different ways of approaching projects.

All things change. All things need to evolve. I’d be an idiot if I didn’t try to implement the feedback from you guys and try and make the Patreon better.

The initial set up was expensive, I needed to set the limits that I did in order to generate the funds needed for the equipment and give me time to learn it. I thought this would take six months to achieve, we broke that target within the first week. This enabled me to buy even more specialist equipment to produce higher quality videos, pdf’s and opened up. Again, I planned this to take another 4 or so months. We smashed through the target within the first month.

The set up has been paid for. The infrastructure is in place. And I want to say thank you for all those who have helped by reducing the prices on the starter entry pledges.

Changes to the format -

To start off, everything, across the board in regards to the filmed content is being reduced in price. You get all the benefits of a $30 subscription under the old pricing system for $15. Please check your pledge level, read the new descriptions and decide what best fits your needs.

Seminars - $10 per month.

Will be staying much the same as before, concentrating on a subject and encouraging you to paint alongside me as much as possible. The thing that is changing? The price!

Videos - $15 per month

Currently I’m dividing the video tutorials in a rather arbitrary way. I’ve promised two videos per month, instead it seems far more natural to split these videos up into smaller segments (such as Amon’s armour, Amon’s face, Amon’s base etc). These will be smaller more focused videos, but will still cover a subject per month. It also means I’m able to provide frequent content instead of the two big bursts per month.

Q & A - $32

These are moving to a facebook group that will allow feedback on your work from myself and other students (if you wish). I would also like to upload some of my own works and explain the thinking process behind them.

I will also be uploading inspirational images, discussing cool miniatures from around the net and upload a 'stream of consciousness' thread where WIP photos from upcoming tutorials can find a home.

Essentially, this is the place to send my pictures of your own work, and I can send feedback.

Personal Tuition - $40+

Staying very much the same. If it aint broke... However I have added a new weekly tuition tier.

There's a lot to take in and I will be posting these changes in individual threads for you guys to refer to. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or leave a comment below.

For now, read through whats on offer, decide what works best for you and change your tier to suit you best.

Yup - I don't want this to come up as self-congratulatory, this is purely down to you guys, start to finish. From the few months this has been active, it's crazy how quickly you guys have developed. @Alan - we need to get you in for your first session!

Alan Gaulton

Agreed - but no rush. Just whenever you’re ready. I’m not going anywhere...

Just chekcing do we need to apply for the patreon again or we stay where we are?

Josh Gunn

So great to hear. Your work is exceptional and you deserve every success. Evolving the format to serve the community even more is an incredibly generous thing to do and I hope the Patreon goes from strength to strength! Ps. Thanks for the tip about Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast on AoD, love it!

Awesome stuff, when is Facebook group starting if it hasn’t already?

Robert Medwell

You are still doing the PDFs right? Those things are wicked!

Fantastic Myles, love the idea of the Facebook page and great to see this evolving!

John

Some Daemon painting tutorials would be amazing 😉!! Would love to see the creature castor one you did. Would also be cool for you to do something like eldar or Tzeentch. Keep up the good work 😊

For the $32 pledge I'm wondering what the details are for the facebook group? Is this going to be a closed group for pledge members at this tier and above? Will the feedback be accessible and coming from you as well with the community?

John

I'm also holding out on this. A smallish group of folks interacting and being the driving force for additional videos is what it sounds like reading between the lines?

This will be a closed, private group that only member can see. You will be able to see the works of others, and I would heartily recommend you give feedback on others work. I want to give people a few more days to decide whether or not the pledge they are currently at suits them and I will start taking names at the start of next month.

Myles is there any chance of a Leman Russ pdf tutorial? I'm keenly interested in your techniques as an avid SW's fan.
