What is the difference between painting silk and rougher made clothing? How do we create that sheen that silk reflects? This video explains the theory and breaks down the process.

Beautiful work. Also, a 3 hour cut you say... #ReleaseTheDavidCut

Great video. Really interesting to think about how you ‘map out’ the colour values in advance and how you mix the warm and the cool into that ‘map’. Is there a pattern to when or in what order you are layering for each value? You seem to be intuitively switching from higher to lower, what is telling you which value to do next?

Enjoyed the video but i have to say that the intro music that covers the silk analysis was very difficult to concentrate with. Your typical music that plays along the painting is nice white noise to follow along with. Thanks for another great video. I assume if we wanted to paint this in a more traditional way with shadows and highlights, we would use the same steps but in reverse?

Specifically the part in the begining with the silk tutorial looking at the google image. There were war drums and high action music almost like a marvel movie? Music was great but It was pretty hard to focus on your voice. After that it was all good.

I have alot of trouble painting black cloaks. No idea why. I'm really excited to see how you painted it for Mephiston. Great first tutorial, can't wait for the others!
