Hey all!

Thanks for all your feedback on the last Call for Suggestions. I'm just making my way through the list right now, so I'm starting with Shawn Porter's suggestion:

"How about some Dark Sun-style adventures? They don't necessarily have to use that specific game system, but stuff set in a harsh desert where the adventurers live in a city-state surrounded by enemies of various types? This would include some small army-type encounters led by the PCs."

I will create about 96 pages of content for you to create such a campaign and play it with little to no prep. My hope is to classify the basic things you need and then create materials you'll need to run adventures set in such a world. I'll break down the classes, religion, governments, starting locations, and so forth for you.

This will be rules agnostic, but I will treat it as 5e-lite. In other words, I'll pretend like it uses a d20 system as its base.

What other things would you like to see in this book?

Let me know in the comments below.

Kevin

that is awesome. thri-kreen, pscioncist parts.

Frank Moore

I have one question: will you be producing a hard copy? I have a buddy who would LOVE a copy.

June Soler

As one of the producers of Dark Sun fan created content at cons and our own Athascon, I look forward to seeing something like this. Perhaps create a dark Sun-esq region that can be easily ported to Athas with ease, after all the planet is pretty big so there's enough sand for everyone..

Roosevelt Cooper

Why don't you use Helkara as an example and show us how to create something similar?

Wrecking Ball Media .Riccardo

Sounds awesome, love the Grimdark aesthetic, some cool character creation backstory options that really lean in to the grey

Jake Ward

This sounds rad. Classes like scrapper, junker, survivalist, war band leader, scourge of the waste, etc

Hallur

I have been running the Primeval Thule campaign setting while using modules from you to great success! this would be an ossom addition, I await eagerly!"

Grakius

Looking forward to this! I always have difficulty creating the lore of lands. "Yes the Zigbarrs rule the land, but how did they get there and why is there a century old feud with the Harrgarian kingdom?"

Doug M

Maybe Mad Max style warlords and their armies, different species of creatures that can act as mounts, ramshackle weapons(rusted due to environment?)

Brian Reeves

System-agnostic scavenging rules & random scavenging tables Piecemeal armor rules, useful with pretty much any d20-based system (5e, Shadowdark, Knave, etc.) Options for characters in a low-magic/corrupt magic world (no straight-up wizards, for example, most classes have no magic abilities) Weird weather Radiation? Mutations?

John Pierce

Would really like a Dark Sun Adjacent style setting...

John Clanton

What about travel rules or random encounters in the desert hellscape?

Nordic Stan

Female warrior cult like wonder woman mixed with Furiosa(madmax)

Shawn Porter

I started writing a campaign like this last year, but have had to spend time managing my current campaign. and haven't gotten very far. Would you be interested in my sending you a Word document of a few pages for you to freely steal thoughts from?

Carlos Zz

Will there be city - states? I would love to see "how the sausage is made" AKA what does trade look like in a world like this? IS fuel / components / food etc being hoarded and sold? Maybe the strongest organization in the lands is a solarpunk farm that's perfectly fortified ?

Erikose

Sounds great!! I have been wanting something like this. If my players fail to stop and Aboleth plot they will be thrown forward into this kind of world.

Brückentroll

Oh Darksun is a great setting with a very unique flavor. Something like that would be cool.
