Hello clan! here you have a video that I have been working on for a long time to bring you this week. We start with the basics of brush techniques, this is the essential CORE to be able to work our minis. I know the video is long but I think that everything I explain is necessary. If you like this video I will continue with this series of videos. To activate the subtitles you will have to do it from the YouTube subtitles tab, I have done it this way so that it is more comfortable for those who don't use them and the screen is clearer. Also now you have the option to choose other subtitle languages with the youtube translator. I'll read you in the comments and thank you very much for your support!

Wow, great video, explains a lot! Thank you. Are you planning to paint any historical figure in future, like the gladiator?

Eric Malherbe

Thank you. Finaly, glaze explained in a way i understand 👍

I can't wait to get home to paint. This was an amazing video, Jose! You do a great job at explaining and showing these concepts and techniques. I honestly feel as though I became a better painter just watching these videos, and feel as though I finally know how to blend those awful highlights I've been struggling with on my Space Marine armors.

By the way: I ABSOLUTELY want to see part 2 of this. This kind of content is absolutely perfect for me, as a beginner of sorts, and it's so inspiring to get this kind of stuff explained in a way where I walk away feeling as though I can really get to grips with this. When watching your videos, no matter how incredible the end result is, or how stunning your technique is, I always feel as though this is something I can accomplish as well if I practice and work at it. This is thanks to your explanation and demonstration! Part 2 would be GREATLY appreciated :)

Hi Jose, The video is amazing! It's exactly what we need to advance our technique. There are many basic concepts, explained very well, that I thought I had understood but actually, at least for me, produce just barely sufficient results. I will try to put them into practice immediately! This is exactly the kind of video I was looking for! Thank you so much, keep it up, I think this new technical series will be a hit!

guren old man

Thank you very much,Master Jose. This is a really great clip. 😍🙏

Thank you very much for your comment, I'm glad to hear you liked it. I'm already working on the second part, I think it's going to be a very good video 🙈

Josedavinci

Thank you very much. Well I intend to paint some historical, to see if I see a figure that catches my attention to bring it to the channel.

Josedavinci

Thank you very much for your support! If you have any questions here I am 🤗

Josedavinci

Thank you so much for the support and for letting me know that my videos are helping you, that gives me a lot of motivation to keep working hard. 🤗

Josedavinci

That is the key, the important thing is to know the method and be aware of why you are doing each step, after that is just practicing the technique to improve the results.

Amazing video. I'm taking good notes on all those high quality informations ! Waiting for part 2 before beggining the next project :)

kharminart

Hi hope for part 2 soon, you are a great teacher! I thought there was an ant on my iPad 😄

Josedavinci

hahahahaha the ant stole all the limelight xD. I've already recorded the second video, it's about the washes, I think it's very interesting 🙈

Josedavinci

Thank you very much, the second video of techniques is about washing, I think it's a good video 🙈

Brent Haley

One of my favorite painters, great video.

JT Butler

One of the best videos about painting I've ever seen! Hand placement, finger movement and grip are all things that I feel never get touched on in videos and it's great to see those topics explored here. Thank you, Jose!

Daniel Reimers

Thank you so much for your great videos - I discovered you on Youtube and you teach so incredibly well, and things that not many other painters speak about. One thing I wondered was how exactly you make your wet palette? i use the ready made ones from Red-grass, but feel there is no moisture at all on the sheet. On yours it's always nice and wet, and it looks like you use tissue under the sheet?

Josedavinci

Hi, thank you very much for your support and I'm very happy that my content helps you, I use the AK palette, but the Redgrass one is fine, I personally find the Redgrass paper too thick, I would use baking paper, it's thinner and lets the moisture through better :)

Josedavinci

Thank you very much for your comment, it makes me very happy to know that my videos help you, I will continue to strive to bring good content 🤗🤗

Eugene Infernal

You are an awesome teacher. Unlike most educational videos, you cover a lot of tiny nuances that actually matter.

Josedavinci

Homsin

Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much Jose DaVinci 🐜

Val

This was so helpful, I feel like you dont see a lot of content on brush technique and loading but its important! Thanks for putting this together, I am having an easier time following the system now!

Josedavinci

Thank you very much mate! im glad that you found the video interesting 🙈🙈

Jakub Puls

Amazing video, thanks Jose. Its basics but helped me a lot.

Chicruss

The best video I've ever seen on miniature painting. So well explained, easy to understand. All that's left is to put it all into practice. Thank you so much, Jose, for your teaching skills. You are without a doubt the best teacher anyone could have to learn how to paint a miniature.

Josedavinci

Hi mate! Thank you very much, im very grateful that you have this opinion and are enjoying my content 🤗🤗

Oscar Törnqvist

I only now realized youre not using a miniatyr holder when painting haha

Josedavinci

Hello! I hardly ever use it, and when I do, it’s something very small 🙈🙈

Darkshamen

Great video, I learnt more about glazing and technique then most other videos out there. Gracias from Australia

Josedavinci

Wow. This is amazing video. I finally learned what it means to "load the brush." I've watched tons of videos and you explained it so clearly. THANK YOU!

Zenos Noone

Thank-you very much for a great introduction to how you understand and use these techniques. It was indepth and well explained. I will watch this video many times :)

Amazing video for sure! Thanks for the content! What I missed or don't understand: Before you load the brush with paint, do you load the brush first with water or is it unnecessary? Most tutorials advocate for loading the brush with some water before going into the paint so I'm a little bit confused 😕

Josedavinci

Thank you very much for your support! I’m glad you liked it, because it really does get wet – that’s because you don’t usually use the paint straight from the tin; you always add a bit of water, and so that’s when we dip the brush in.
