Hello clan! We start a new series of videos, today we have a theoretical video to continue understanding fundamental aspects of volumetry. I think this kind of videos complement very well the practical videos and help you to keep improving. I hope you like it very much, thank you very much for your support!!!

I find your theory videos enormously helpful. The Julius model volumetry video was incredible. I'd love to see a video on the cape. I'd also be interested to see a video covering contrast of values, as it relates to volumetry. How dark do you make your shadows vs. how bright do you make your highlights?

Thank you very much, I'm so glad it's helping you, I'll keep working to bring you more videos like this one.

This has been great. Your videos are easy to follow and I am learning a lot. Thank you for making these. I do have one question...For me personally I have problems defining the volumes, shades and shadows when the pose of the miniature has straight legs (like the back leg when aiming down the scope). The back leg gives me the hardest time. Cant figure where the shades should be compared to the light. Both organic and flat panels like armor. I do not know how to separate it. Still practicing on cheaper miniatures to get better and defining them.

Hi, how are you? If there are areas where you’re not quite sure where to place the light, my advice is to put it where it looks best. For example, on the straight back leg: imagine the leg is a cylinder, so place it in the centre of the cylinder.

Thank you for taking the time and replying. Truly appreciate it the advice and guidance.
