If the worst comes to pass, Dorne has a history of telling dragons to fuck off. And good for Dany. Tell that old rusty bitch off, don’t go fire crazy.

bfoolforty

Too little, too late for Dany to gain any sense. Axel needs to kill em all.

TheSinful

Wow, more sensible than Miss "I'll burn down this entire city in revenge for what happened to Cersei because the writers forgot it wasn't me!"

Lord Sesshomaru

I have a feeling the jewel hiding Melisandre's true "beauty" is losing its power lol. It's as if R'hllor is no longer giving his power to Melisandre 🤔 (I guess he also realizes this is a lost cause 🤷🏻‍♂️) Will we ever have an Axel with a crisis of faith? I mean, all the deities speak/give powers to their "Heralds," and Axel is the only one who hasn't heard even a whisper...

pavbpabv

With his speed, he should be able to kill a dragon and be anywhere in the world in minutes. It feels too forced.

Can you imagine Melisandre working at a tech support hotline? Caller: My computer's sound volume is lower than usual. Melisandre: Have you restarted Windows? Caller: It didn't fix the issue. Melisandre: How about sacrificing someone of royal blood? Caller: What. Melisandre: Well, then set your "computer" on fire and send me a picture. I'm sure the Lord of Light will have a suitable answer for your needs. Caller: What is wrong with you?!

Conner the conman

I'm still thinking that Melisandre is possessed or something because I would think that she would be with the strongest person or maybe i'm missing something about her

Conner the conman

It feels like this path he's on about the faith and for honor and all that is forced i mean he is the Viltrumite and they don't really care for those under them in power so it's feels like he's forcing himself to care

Zombie45

Ngl I hate the entire Dany plotline, it’s getting to season 8 levels of shit

Sith2go

In Axel's defense, he has a rather skewed idea of the horror of poisons, since it has never been much more than a spice for him.

Only thing amusing about it is Danaerys finding out that Melisandra had her child killed and manipulated her all along. Other than that its just rehash of her show storyline with that unneeded addition of her joining a dumb harem.

I think you might be missing the part where Melisandre is a red priestess. A servant of the Red God. And the part where Axel is openly considered the champion of the seven, a completely different god. And the part where Axel is ACTUALLY part of an attempt to invade the planet by an alien empire of immensely powerful mostly psychopaths that would never, in all the million years they might live, ever worship the red god. But actually its probably just melisandre being her usual zealot self and projecting all her own lunacy into her visions in the flames and deciding that the whole world should burn instead of being frozen or being ruled by something other than a servant of the red god. Also Thoros of Myr being able to do some very consistent resurrections puts up a very strong argument to the fact that Melisandre is just seriously a vicious bitch of her own type, not necessarily better or worse than cersei but definitely awful.

I don't know viltrumite lore very well at all, but I would assume from what clips I've seen of the show that that viltrumite superiority complex is a cultural thing that's taught not a genetic trait. Axel doesn't have any viltrumite culture, he was raised by some of the most honorable and just Knights in westeros, which to be fare, that isnt really saying much, but still he had significant amounts of positive influences on him throughout his youth, so no need to treat anyone weaker than him like a pest.

William

I agree that it feels a little forced, but we don't really know how fast Daenerys' dragons are in this timeline, even though its probably SUPER unlikely that they're anywhere near Axel's speeds, I think it works well enough since its only fair and safe to be cautious and assume those things can AT LEAST fly fast enough and are tough enough that he wouldn't be able to get to all 3 before at least 1 of them destroyed a city,. Also, more importantly, and I honestly only thought of this while typing, 👀 he doesn't have super senses like a kryptonian as far as I know about viltrumites, so he doesn't just automatically know where the dragons are, sure if he is lucky enough to get all 3 in one place or in visual range of each other, he could PROBABLY kill them all in under a minute even if they were flying away from each other at top speed, but they can probably cover A LOT of distance in the few minutes it would take him to find them if they go wandering around, and he isnt going to know where one of them is if it gets away until reports start coming back about burnED cities and fields.

Maybe this fight will be where axel finally connects his ability to not have to breathe underwater to not having to breathe in space? Maybe force a dragon or dany to fly so high they lose consciousness? Or just force them underwater and have to drowned god make a surprise visit to try to get revenge for his fallen avatar and/or dragon serpent thing from earlier?

It's a little convoluted my man. It seems to come down to him not being sure of how strong he is, or how fast he is. Why hasn't he tried to go as fast as he can? Why hasn't he tried to test his strength? Is he really that lazy? Sure he is a king and he is very busy, but you would think he would make time for that. I think it comes across convoluted because I'm not sure what his actual power level is right now, sure he killed the kraken and can fly. But that's a very vague description. How long does it take him to fly to various parts of his kingdom. What can actually hurt him now? I might be wrong but viltrumites, even on the low end can fly across the earth in minutes, not hours or days. So why couldn't he blitz em. Idk man, this is the first time I have felt your writing isn't making that much sense, so maybe it's me.

StarPaladin

Imma call it . Conquest shows up during the fight and whoops everyones ass.

redhawktiger

This is getting good....though I'm still waiting for someone to call Dany on her own BS, at least she's beginning to see Melisandre may have misled her.

JoeMcCool

The best way Axel can fight the dragons is by doing what World War II fighter pilots called "boom and zoom". At high speed he dives from high altitude, with the Sun at his back, and aims at either the dragon's neck or Daenerys herself, with the heaviest Valyrian steel sword he can get his hands on. If you want to make things stressful, you can have one of the other dragons get in the way so that Daenerys is not hit but gets taken out instead.

Tsorov

He already did that, kinda. He came to the conclusion after his magister told him to be careful with his wifes in high places. He said something along the lines of I can do that for hours, like underwater.

Alun Lewis

While I'm glad that Dany is seeing more and more sense about the BS she's been fed by Melissandre...it's not enough or fast enough. And I worry that the Red Priestess will decide to do some scorched Earth tactics and merc Davos & his family or even target Missandrei to try and get Rh'llor to answer her phone calls and give her some useful directions...that ain't coming. As for Axel's behavior in this chapter...his actions make more sense than Dany's - I know...not hard to do - but I also can't dismiss the point that others are making that Axel is a Viltrumite and is physically capable of going from King's Landing to Dragonstone in minutes (or faster) and climbing into the dragons' guts to rip them apart from from the inside out before Dany can process her draconic children's distress. I mean, I get it...Axel is the Viltrumite version of Superman - far more moral and far less xenophobic than his people, while also not being aware of everything that someone of his species can do - but even if he keeps on being Westeros' Man of (Valyrian) Steel and defeats Dany with words or sacrificial deeds...either his mom or The Great Other is gonna cause him to finally go full bare-knuckle grudge match. Him not doing now is costing him time to fully hone his abilities and prepare himself for the day Shit Gets Completely Real.
