Good chapter, the ideas of Jinu are good, I like that he knew what make the Honmoon fail was Rumi self hatred and what is need to be done to help her. Will Gwi-Ma still send daemons to hunt Jinu and have a plan to stop/derail Huntr/X? By the way, if there is a vote I will trow it so Rumi can (when she accept her heritage) access her daemon figure, her yellow eye and right hand claw added to the patterns look really good.

Gwi-Ma definitely isn't giving up, not on destroying the Honmoon nor on hunting down and dealing with Jinu yeah. Gwi-Ma is still very much a Big Bad of this story, even if Rumi's self-loathing and self-hatred is potentially an equal Big Bad lmao.

Just some food for thought. First, I think that there is actually a very good chance that the girls' weapons may be unable to hurt jinu anymore which in and of itself would be interesting to explore ( their weapons are a physical manifestation of the Honmoon specifically to kill demons and Jinu is now tied to a version of the honmoon so there is a good chance it wont hurt him or can'thurt him). Second, I don't know if Jinu would even read as a demon anymore, and more like a guardian entity which somebody like Celine, if she is as experienced as I think she is, may be able to pick up (this is based off of different legends involving a spirit called a Dokkaebi which can be malicious or benevolent, though i will admit i don't know if they would be classed as demons though the pilot demon from the plane looks an awful lot like one). Then again I don't know if any of them have any extrasensory abilities though the fact that they can see things normal people can't point to yes. All in all great chapter, though he may have been a bit hamfisted with the merch. No offense but it does scream suspicious 😅🤣

Haha appreciate the thoughtful response! I'll have to think about the weapons thing. Would maybe be a fun moment of horror for the girls to not be able to harm him before they realize HE means no harm. But on the other hand, the current Honmoon is very different from the Rainbow Honmoon and Jinu's patch job constitutes less than a percent of it at best. So I think weapons from the current Honmoon probably should still be able to harm him, I dunno. As far as Celine is concerned, I think she's more the Mira of her group. Action first. Based on what we see of her in the movie, I don't think it'll be easy for her to accept that anything with demon patterns could be 'good. However, I am NOT intending for Celine to be evil or even completely rigid and inflexible. If all goes according to plan, we should see something in Chapter 3 from her that will shock the girls to their cores. And yeah, Jinu out here like "I'll just be completely honest about loving their music and wanting to help them via actions and wearing their merch!" Meanwhile, alarm bells do be RINGING for HUNTR/X lmao.

Ahhhhh, Celine's gonna assume he's like Rumi's father and the girls Rizz'ed him without them knowing? Pfffft, that would certainly be funny. "Well girls, I don't actually think he's being malicious, but he perhaps is after something I've seen before......"

This story could be called Jinu vs Generational Trauma, and it's so good! Looking forward to seeing where this goes. The bit about him busking in park was a nice touch. He probably looks like a regular artist for the generation, lol. I'd certainly like to see more of Jinu playing his own songs, but then I start imagining him playing centuries old classics and him being offended when people call his music "old fashioned" but then I remember that he did all the Saja boys songs and design so he's probably pretty up to date on music.

The best part about Jinu busking in the park is that my headcanon is he knows barely anything about the internet/social media. He just passed it off to one of the other Saja Boys to learn about and make happen in the first timeline. Sooo he thinks he's being sneaky by busking in a park on the opposite side of Seoul from the HUNTR/X tower, but in reality, it won't be long before word of "this dude with a bipa absolutely rocking HUNTR/X covers" spreads over social media and reaches their ears~

Love it! Absolutely need to see this movie. Great start, great enough that I'm finding myself looking forward to this updating as much as Unyielding Stag or Invader Syndrome. ^_^

Excellent. Celine is getting dragged into this mess. This may not end well, but it’ll be entertaining. Might also be a useful route to explain more about Rumi’s dad.

Oh my god, this is amazing! I love seeing the inner thoughts of Rumi and her interactions with the other girls. I can’t wait to see how her interactions with jinu will go from here

Really tempted to request you pause everything else and focus solely on this. Obviously won't happen, but the urge is strong. Thanks for the chapter. Also, is this going to be a JinuxHUNTR/X? Not just JinuxRumi? Because Zoey and Mira's reactions kind of hint to that being a possibility.

I have not even heard of KPop Demon Hunters before you wrote the first chapter. When it was mentioned during the Vibe Check I thought you were making a joke about writing something obscure and random. Just finished watching it and I love it. The songs are great and I am very excited for what you do with it.

I'm not entirely sure yet what the pairing will be. I know for sure it will be JinuxRumi. And I THINK I will have ZoeyxMira be a thing too maybe. And I MIGHT also have JinuxRumi+ZoeyxMira by the end. Where Zoey and Mira mostly like Jinu for his dick but they LOVE Rumi and so it sort of just works but Jinu does not have an actual harem.

I really need to watch this movie to better understand Rumi & her history...I'm liking what I'm reading here but Rumi's angst doesn't hit quite right when I don't have enough details to really grasp all the angles. Gotta say though...Jinu's Tuxedo Mask impression was pretty neat, though he's gonna have some fun times when the HUNTR/X gals think he's in need of an exorcism or banishment 😉

Yeah, definitely watch the movie as soon as possible! Though SPOILERS for some context if you want them: SPOILERS/(basically Rumi is a half-demon born to a Demon Hunter mom and a Demon dad. Her mom died shortly after giving birth to her and she was raised by Celine, her mother's teammate, who has made Rumi hide her demon heritage from her teammates as much as possible all her life. On top of that, the demon patterns she's been hiding are growing and hurting her voice, and recently she had a demonic outburst that harmed the Honmoon. That's where we're at with her in Chapter 2, effectively.)/SPOILERS

Heh yep, if it gets that far she'll definitely be the centerpiece. Might also just wind up as Rumi/Jinu and maybe Mira/Zoey though, I'm not making any promises beyond definitely getting Rumi and Jinu together... eventually

SPOILER/For context, the honmoon is a magic barrier that generations of hunters have been weaving with their songs and powered by the souls of their fans. This barrier keeps the demons at bay and once completed (The so called golden honmoon) it will prevent them from crossing to the human world at all. Thus finally completing the mission of the hunters for good. The rainbow honmoon mentioned in the story was something the hunters didn't even know was an option/SPOILER

This chapter honestly gave me the paradox vibe lol. Like what if Jinu was sent back 20ish years ago instead and met Rumi's mom and made himself the paradox of being Rumi's dad. Which is also why Celine doesn't outright hate all demons but doesn't acknowledge them either due to somr drama, maybe both Celine and Rumi's mom fell in love with the same demon and like all drama griend shows, had conflict and etc... which ended with Rumi being born but her mom dead, and Celine, who felt guilty and in anger killed the demon in grief and took care of Rumi. Or something like that.
