I know they say he’s only half-alien, but is he half-human? I mean, does Earth exist, and are real humans out there?

Dany and Val are going to look back on this first night of rest with some regret later on, because once all three of then are fully rested, Axel is going to wear the pair out. The King has literally taken all six of his women the same night and still wound up on top. *snerk* 😅

Oof, final arcs is approaching. I hope we get a chapter or two with Axel's kids in the future.

Kasikan

He should have named Mance Lord Paramount of everything North of the wall. Now the closest people he could call on to man the wall are going to be pissed their land was given to the ass holes that regularly raid them worse than the Ironborn.

Hoping the epilogue has a scene where Axels mother shows up and examines what he did to his world. Because the overall goal of her race was to expand their empire right? Well, Axel basically controls a sizeable portion of his world. Could easily write a sequel following him conquering essos and other shenanigans with outer space people.

Don't worry, Axel, Mark has taken a beating in every battle, but he's still INVINCIBLE. A retreat/defeat won't make you any less 💪🏻. It breaks my heart to know we're almost at the end of this story💔, but I can't wait to get to THAT chapter too 🤩.

Nice, the logical part of me knows that Axel for all intents and purposes, by everything we know so far, could just make another run at the night king, this time not slowing down or pausing until he's spotted the spiky blue tart, and then dive at super sonic speeds with a valyrian steel sword to kill the thing, thereby killing all the other things, and all the wights, in one attack. That part of me isnt sure how you're gonna make this team up worthwhile. But the less picky part of me is just as excited as everyone else for the big army vs army, life vs death battle that seems to be brewing. Im still not necessarily convinced you're going to do that though, for all I know you might be building things up to have a big battle set up for the lights the drama the action, only to throw in the big twist of having a more efficient logical conclusion to the night king at least. Either way, probably gonna love it, besides all that, I wonder if you've got any plans for Winter's End(great name) to somehow become Lightbringer, for Axel to become Azor Ahai(or more likely one of the other versions)? Because Azor Ahai is just the Rhllor prophacy version of the Last hero, or Hyrkoon the Hero, or Eldric Shadowchaser. Almost every religion on Planetos has a version of the story where a great hero united the living and fought back the Long Night, I know at least one of the versions besides the red one, have that hero wielding a special flaming probably valyrian steel sword to do it, I forget which one it is though, something about that hero plunging his sword into his wife's heart( she was willing and it was something like in HP with Lily's sacrifice to save harry i think) to ignite the legendary blade or something like that, but all the versions might include lightbringer I dont know a ton about them. Either way, obviously Axel's not literally killing any of his girls, but I can see some ways to set it up to somehow have them ignite the sword or something if you want to write Axel as the Prince that was Promised which is the Valyrian's version of the prophecy I believe. Edit: my bad I looked it up, and that wife sacrificing herself to ensure an end to the long night was actually the Azor Ahai's wife, still I feel like other versions also have a flaming sword but I dont know much about them other than that Dany definitely seems like the Prince that was promised since apparently that version has the Ptwp waking three dragons from stone to destroy the night king or something.

Kasikan

Probably just have to have Daenerys breathe fire on it along with her dragon. Then the Seven can bless the flames to keep burning. Thus gaining more faith and worship to empower them while stealing the flaming bit from R'hllor, weakening him in the process.

Dude really just needs to pull an omni man and raze the army to the ground lol

It'd be so funny if there is an epilogue set ten years after the last chapter with a where are they now series of paragraphs and wildly competent Hand of the King is Lord Mance of House Rayder, the king's kind of brother in law.

Be kinda neat if the return of Axel's Mom brought the revelation that Planetos is a Pern-like situation, where the First Men and the Andals were originally the members of two different human colonies on Planetos that culturally devolved due to losing contact with Earth and being unable to maintain modern technology without resupply. Dragons? Genetically engineered beings...or the native apex predators of Planetos. The revelation from the Seven about the Great Other being from space could mean intentional sabotage of said colonies to ensure it got Planetos all to itself...but the Great Other underestimated humanity.

Alun Lewis

Damn...Axel's speechifying skills have really improved if he just sold the Wildings on conditional servitude to him as "kneelers" that get to inhabit the Gift and the New Gift if they wish! And he got Val & Dany to stop sniping at one abother and just rest? When they were ready to rumble at the smallest provocation?! Double dayum!

Wafflenator

Just as I am the Champion of the Seven, so to is the Night King Should be 'too' here. And how exactly do you see in us, kneeler king?! Should take out the in here.

William

But then he would be claiming that the lands north of the wall are his to distribute, directly contradicting his own promise to them in the same speech.

Kasikan

If he named him Lord Paramount of everything up there at the start of the speech, then he'd be saying the place would be under their own people. Much like the other former kingdom's are. Sure they may have to kneel to him once, but they'd never have to kneel to anyone else ever again outside his family. That is more or less declaring them their own pseudo kingdom and not giving away land that belonged to the North, which is it's own pseudo kingdom. Since they used to be kingdom's before being conquered themselves yet still more or less run everything there with the main Lord Paramount houses controlling them all. They'd also potentially gain trade due to that as well, which would benefit them far more without any of the problems giving the Gift to them will cause with all the lords of the North. Too much bad blood exists there to ever expect the people of the North wouldn't try to exterminate the Wildlings or that the Wildlings would stop their raiding ways. They were worse than the Ironborn to the North. With regular incursions by them all across the North all year round.

William

I definitely liked dragon riders of pern and related stuff as its own setting, but outside of it, I kinda dont really like the premise, being unable to maintain modern technology without infrastructure( at least to the extent that that setting and others like it go to) is just unrealistic in most cases. Think of Dr. Stone, that manga/anime perfectly displays that the thearizing/experimentation/learning steps are like 95% of what made it take as long as it did to get from stone age to modern tech, if you actually think about it, there isnt a huge difference between medieval tech and tech in the 1800s, then we get electricity and other large building blocks of modern tech and science, and we push out more inventions and advancements in a few decades than there were in entire millenia before that. Because technological and scientific advancement is exponential at certain levels of tech. Certain levels of tech take only the knowledge of the basics and a decent understanding of the functions and you can build out half of modern civilization in a few years with some experiments and tests. Obviously not on a huge scale since you would still be limited by the number of people working on it, but we wouldnt just be unable to rebuild basic pre electrical tech if we regressed into the stone age, not if we still had the knowledge of modern living. Because the BIGGEST limiter for the speed of technological advancement, is ideas for possible advancements, a modern person in a medieval world will want to have basic hygiene, sanitation, and other modern amenities, and to fulfill that desire for basic modern comforts, they'll come up with at least very basic probably enifficient imitations of modern comforts, and if they happen to be in a position of power and influence, like a noble or wealthy merchant, they would force others around them to also adopt these basic practices, and finally either the modern person or the people around them, will come up with more effective versions of those basic amenities, its much easier to upgrade a basic idea or design than it is to come up with a completely unheard of idea. Sorry that it clearly became a minor rant against specific story tropes but those arguments about modern tech being impossible to replicate without hundreds of years to take longer than we did irl to get to that level, always annoy me. I can ignore it for good stories like Pern though since that story only uses it as a basic concept, rather than constantly bringing it up with poor one-sided arguments like certain fanfics do. Please Cam and other authors, dont forget that most of what we use in modern society was made by combining and applying ideas and concepts into endless advancements in just a few decades. It was only the ideas that took thousands of years to develop, not the tech.
