That hit RIGHT in the feels omg- this is definitely one of the most wholesome pics ive read and it makes sense why theres no smut in it. Wouldn't feel right to like "taint" the world in that way for lack of a better word. Definitely the rught choice but damn your aiming right for the feels!

Also this reminds me of the favourite theory in rise of the guardians were people think that jack is related to the kid Jamie. Like his sister went on to have kids and so forth and they never left the village and eventually jamie is born with the same spark that jack had

Not saying it COULDNT have smut but like maybe like a final happy ending type of thing/4some with jinu and the girls. I've had the same feeling about other shows aswell were it feels like it taints the characters to see them not be wholesome

I always believed that Gwi-Ma’s was only making remember the bad parts, the shameful ones. It was not possible that Jinu had been playing in the street and then immediately was in the palace, even with the deal it would have taken time for a courtesan to notice him, then report to a higher up, then the being summoned to the palace, then to be permitted to live in the palace, it would have taken time and in that time Jinu family would have improved.

Damn this fic got me watching kpdh again, have no idea how many times I've seen the movie, this is probably one of my favourite characters, almost had me crying with jinu mom and little sister scene, actually glad you referenced part of the movie people overlooked on

Yeah, that's always been my headcanon too that he did not actually abandon his family, but the Emperor forced him to. Fuck the Emperor. Fuck Gwi-Ma. May they both rot. But at least, now, Jinu knows it too. And the conclusion about the fate of his sister was delicious. But fuck the Emperor. Fuck Gwi-Ma. May they rot. Yeah, I'm repeating myself. Yeah, that deserves to be repeated. Screw them both.

Jinu’s small heart grew three sizes that day. Extremely cool and sweet reimagining of Jinu’s backstory and pretty compelling as an explanation for the inexplicable timing of his corruption shown in the film. The first gen of hunters emerging 400 years ago leaves me wondering if you envision Gwi Ma as an entity who only started intruding on the world around that time, or if people just got disappeared real frequently prior to the 17th century

I think my favorite take on that backstory probably comes from the fanfic Tax Evasion over on AO3. Basically, in that story, Gwi-Ma is a Satan-like entity who makes faustian deals with bad humans and then takes their souls and torments them forever afterwards. Meanwhile, all of the other demons/spirits from Korean Folklore are also around just doing their own things. Forest Tricksters, Mountain Guardians, that sort of thing. Until finally, Gwi-Ma realizes he can get a lot more powerful by preying on more than just bad humans. And so he starts making deals with desperate humans instead and starts getting a lot stronger a lot faster. This in turn forces the Mudang, the ancient Korean Shamans who became the first Hunters, to turn and in a fit of desperation create the Honmoon, which not only seals Gwi-Ma and his demon lackeys away, but ALSO seals all of the other demons and spirits in Korea down in the demon realm too, basically forcing them all under Gwi-Ma's banner. I'm not saying all of the above is also canon for this story, but I do like the idea of Gwi-Ma having been around for a long time before getting greedy, which in turn forces the creation of the Honmoon due to his greed.

It raises a fascinating question, which is can the dead be preserved in the Honmoon? First, can Hunters be preserved in the Honmoon? But the more interesting possibility is can the people who's souls were used to build the Honmoon- like, say, Jinu's sister- be preserved in the Honmoon?

Hey, what are the chances the Hanmoon contains an "echo" or something like that of the Hunters that helped weave it. A fact that had been forgotten by the hunters over time but was remembered by demons. Could Jinu have the opportunity to call out to his sister and have a good cry telling her how proud he is of her and how sorry he is he couldn't spend more time with her. I'm already tearing up but I think I might start bawling if you write that. Then Celina and Rumi might get some closure and answers by talking to Rumi's mom.

Curious how much of a seismic impact this revelation is gonna have on our boy Jinu, if he accepts the truth of this experience it not only absolves him of the guilt that has been the central pillar of his psyche for four centuries, he now knows his family both lived well and his baby sister may be a Honmoon force ghost who orchestrated this entire opportunity for him as an expression of love. Hope Bobby’s ready for the emotional dam he just demolished
