All I got to say is "Goddamnit Jinu" With the Future Bombshell 2nd Well we know who wears the pants between Jinu and Rumi 3rd Mira with a lack of tact

James Johnston

Hey cam? You gotta stop making me cry about these characters from a Netflix movie!

RHar

First kissing, then hugging, what's next, unaccompanied hand-holding?

Great chapter as always Cam. However, I do hope that your other fics won't get infected by the major-moments-will-almost-always-get-interrupted virus. I guess it's fine for a drama like this one, but it really grinds my gears.

Cambrian

tbf, all of my other fics have been on the "major moments will almost always get interrupted" train forever at this point. Specifically the Story Poll fics, which are almost always interrupted by a vote where you guys help me pick what happens next lol

Alatoic

Really moving moment, love that not only Rumi console Jinu but all the girls. soup deep level? - Pretty sure is Soul ;) Unless is a weird Korean metaphor.

haha I fixed it on the google doc earlier, but alas it will remain soup on the pdf and epub forevermore v.v

Feels a little weird how the girls acted with the knowledge about derpie and sussie. Like they seemed to be treating that deeply personal and intimate knowledge of his life like a funny little "haha, you so silly jinu". it feels similar to if Jinu had spoken up while rumi was addressing her mother and he said something like "hah, what are you talking about, how can you miss her if you never even knew her" or more like something a bit less insensitive than that, but still. The girls dont seem to be taking that information seriously at all, but to jinu this is him finding out that for the last 4 hundred years, he's always had a piece of his sister with him. Not really something one should be telling him with a "teasing/taunting" type of mood. Thats just how I feel about it though, maybe Im just misinterpreting it though, I guess it could be supposed to be showing them being excited about telling him, but I didnt get that feel from it. Either way, apart from that little complaint about the tone, still loving the story, tftc.

Stephen Grote

Not quite sure what you trying to say here, but I think it is supposed to be different. Mira just cocks her head to the side. “Yeah? Didn’t have your soul back then I back, did ya?”

Cambrian

Yeah I removed the 'I back' from the google doc, but unfortunately it remains in the pdf and epub files v.v

Stephen Grote

Fair enough I wasn't sure if it had been caught.

Absolute Cinema, poor lad having to deal with finally finding his sisters grave, and learning the truth of what she did for his sake. Years of dealing with him, all to protect the foolish, big, dumb brother of hers that was so filled with hope to have his family get a better life...only to get absolutely wrecked by the demon-scum bag who dragged him down with his shame and foolishness. i wonder if jinu could have sent money from the palace to his family for their sake while playing for the emperor? Probably Not im guessing...

Alun Lewis

It's possible...but would Jinu have taken the care to ensure that nobody skimmed any of the money being sent to his family...or stole it outright? And there's a question of did the Emperor actually pay Jinu in wages, or just made sure he was sufficiently housed, fed and clothed as a court entertainer?

Alun Lewis

I see your point, but I think the tone Cam was shooting for is one of loving exasperation at Jinu's willful blindness of certain details for so long. I think Mira & Zoey more than respect the importance of Derpy & Sussie as guardian spirits sent to Jinu by Ahri as sign of her love for her big brother (and that love persisting for 400 years) but they're already aware that Jinu has a lot of self-hatred over the choices he's made and needs a bit of tough love to break through his blindness.

Alun Lewis

I don't know what the rules are in Korean culture when it comes to grave markers, but I hope Ahri's can be restored or respectfully replaced (maybe even a full redo of the oldest markers) so it's easy for the grave to be visited without needing Derpy or Sussie to guide someone to their summoner's final resting place. I'm also hoping that there will be a scene where Rumi (or Rumi & Celine) visit Jia's grave and express their feelings about what happened the day she died...including (hopefully) their forgiveness, but I suppose that could be a bridge too far.

Rodrigus

Thanks for the chapter! I am a little frustrated with all the interruptions when Jinu or Rumi start explaining things but I guess that now that everyone is going to be in the same place again they can get the explanation to everyone at once. I look forward to what comes next.

I'm not crying, it's just raining really hard.
