I think it is not bad idea to contact Shield to check for any intel as payment for Agent May's enhancement. Involving Fury might be able to at least have Fury less paranoid from lack of information about Thad and show him that Thad can be reasonable to work with rather than a threat.

Solusandra

Avengers are the best choice. For this sort of thing, you need to hit many facilities at once, with overwhelming force, or you'll loose lots of people and data. His luck power is also going to get a workout, with choosing the right teams to do this.

Uncle Snoo

Visit Fury and read his mind (or have Emma do it) stealthily. He should know something about it.

The3rd

On the one hand, the smartest move is to leverage everything, and everyone against a conspiracy like this, on the other hand I don't think Thaddeus want attention on himself. So we don't want to leverage Hellfire assets, I don't trust shield, unless we're super stealth going it alone is too much heat(option 5), between the Avengers and the Brotherhood I think lean towards the Avengers. But would Emma be unhappy, and are we not already prepared for just about anything?

The3rd

I guess the right way is to gather as much intelligence as possible first, so we know what we're dealing with and that means Shield.

The3rd

Thought maybe it means Emma, that's more reliable information.

redhawktiger

I would involve Emma AND She Hulk. Emma because, at this point, she's the closest to an equal partner Thad has. And She-Hulk because if the government is experimenting on all metas and not just mutants, I think the Avengers, especially the female Avengers, will be all in to help Thad

redhawktiger

Side question, mostly out of curiosity (and I don't know why this popped into my head on this chapter), would Thad gain any powers if he slept with a normal woman bonded to a symbiote, like Mary Jane Watson/Carnage?

WildMartin

Now I have the idea of mercury bonded to a symbiote and then Thad wearing Mercury wearing a symbiote

Tsorov

Are we completly leaving out the X Men here? Xavier is no friend of Thad, but he is still interested in his old friend Erik, and experiments on mutants is always his buisness.

PieBoy4242

Emma has the resources, but what's in it for her? Blowing her limited cover and maybe gratitude from Magneto, for all that's worth. Alternatively, we have the Avengers who have on *several* occasions put a boot up the Feds asses when they do sketchy and shady shit. Plus, I want some more Avenger banging.

Doug Bowman

Why only one organization? Emma and Xavier have vested interests, Avengers have the public persona to make it into an incident the feds can't brush under the rug, SHIELD needs to know how deep the rot in their own side is, and all of this is a matter of scale rather than powerful individuals. Even turning the president would just force their research underground, not nip the Sentinel program and the Facility in the bud. Among others. Pull Magneto out alone, in a neutral location, and use him as bait and leverage to get everyone to sit down together and decide if it needs to be a public or private war against the feds. Not just his growing harem and allies, a proper sit-down of leadership. Maybe even call in Selene, or at least let her know so she won't feel like the White Queen is moving to oust her behind the scenes.

Corn The Man

Yeah I don't think thad or Emma would want any more attention to all their side questing. Better to let someone else be the face of this. I just feel bad it doesn't look like Shield will get involved. I'm still super curious if the hydra infiltration plot line is a thing in this setting.

Corn The Man

I get the feeling they would have been involved if the brotherhood was, their kinda always up in their business.

MercerV12

Looks like the votes going Emma/hellfire’s way, which probably isn’t the best option since Selene is still a part of hellfire and any direct resources Emma and Thad use from there has a chance of being a potential info leak to Selene.

Ofunu

I know that Emma is one of Thaddeus most resourceful allies. But he is relying on her way too much to my liking. He really should start relying on other people, if for no other reason than to make it clear she is not his only option and she doesn't take his loyalty for granted. Besides that would open the door to other women to increase his power repertoire. He is focusing too much on only mutants when there are more flavors out there. So far, non mutants he has slept with after he was first approached by the X-men are She-Hulk, Susan Storm, Gwen Stacy, and Natasha, and the last one didn't give him any powers other than a general boost. Meanwhile there are aliens, mutates, inhumans, demons, sorcerers, and who knows what else, but he will never get a chance to tap those asses if he doesn't diversify his contacts a bit. SHIELD or the Avengers would at least open the door for the first three categories.

Alun Lewis

While I see the points made by others about using Hellfire Club resources to free Magneto = Selene being involved or at least aware of any actions taken to free someone who isn't a member or ally of the Club or her, I picked that option because we don't know if SHIELD is involved in any of the shit being done to Magneto currently or any of the clandestine projects being run to study mutant and meta-human powers like The Facility. And while the Avengers won't stand for corruption or rights violations of American citizens, certain Avengers like She-Hulk are going to default to going through channels and following laws to do this by the book till it's far too clear that the laws are unjust or being abused to suit certain interests. So...I think the Hellfire Club is the solid solution barring Selene trying to block any action or subvert the rescue attempt for her own gains.

Gamesempie

Needs to be someone the government can't or won't touch. So either the Avengers, the public heros that could cause a PR disaster for them if they try to fuck with them too obviously, again. Or the Hellfire club, rich well connected socialist that likely have more than a few government officials in their pockets.

Sebas Tian

Since it seems I am outvoted at the moment I will just post that while I do love the dynamic between thad and Emma. I do think getting the avengers involved would be more unique story wise, so far every issue has him going to Emma almost immediately. And while I really don't disagree with that, this time why can't It be both Emma and the avengers?

tomIrenicus

Honestly? All of thier allies at once might be the best but that... Yeah that's not gonna work out.

Ofunu

At this point it's looking as if Thaddeus is incompetent and unable to do anything without consulting Emma for everything. I would have preferred if that had not been an option at all. His supposed role of leader is not as convincing now.

Vysirez

Emma has a massive amount of resources and contacts that Thadd doesn't have yet. Using your resources well is the sign of a good leader. Refusing to do so because you think it looks weak is the sign of a bad one. That is pure ego or pride talking.

Ofunu

And relying on the same resource over and over again makes you dependent on it. Soon enough you are unable to think of any other option. Thaddeus is not limited to Emma alone but the votes have him relying always on her and ignoring every other alternative. That gives Emma leverage over Thaddeus and she is the kind of person who would abuse such leverage for her benefit. The smart thing would be to diversify his support network to other people besides Emma.

UrpsychoEX

So a lot of the debate seems to be that we’re hiding behind Emma’s skirt/following her lead like a toady vs we should be acting on our own. To the question of always turning to Emma I say we’re doing so as an equal. At the end of the day we’re not as powerful, telepathically, as Emma but we bring even more power to the table and have quite a few hard counters to her power. Using the resources of the Hellfire club makes sense and Selene is always going to be watching us just as we should assume that others are as well. Assuming no one is monitoring us is the wrong idea. Assume we’re being monitored basically 24/7 with only a few brief moments of freedom, and not even during our various liaisons, from said monitoring. Does it appear we can’t do anything without Emma’s approval? Yes but only to those that do not know the relationship between Thad and Emma. The Avenger’s might be a good second option but we’ve not contacted She-Hulk nor the others since the Facility incident. The Brotherhood is right out as that would give the game away that we’re going to try something or help with something involving Magneto. Shield is also out as they’re filled with moles and as much as Marvel and the fandom hype him up Fury isn’t all that great at keeping his organization clean. Don’t get me wrong he can be a great spy he’s generally just a terrible manager. Going off on our own is feasible between our luck powers and the allies we can pull in that most don’t know about like Magik and the Widows. Let’s call that Plan C. So Emma is Plan A, Avenger’s Plan B or C, Lone Wolf Plan C or B, then Shield and Brotherhood tied for Plan Please No. Also don’t forget we can always take a few people to Limbo and bring Magneto there. We honestly need to hide Quicksilver anyway.

Jeanean

Personally, I have no issue with asking Emma for help, but for one, thats been the go-to option for far too long. Its just getting a bit repetetive. Asking She-Hulk for help feels like a nice middle ground between asking the Brotherhood or going to Fury and SHIELD. It would also bring back some underutilized characters.
