Stealing from the high-class Devi is not the logical choice but definitely the one that has the most opportunity to drive the story towards the main cast

I am pushing for option one as I prefer a standard heist AND it is least likely to annoy Ajuka and most likely to amuse him. Option two is most likely to annoy one or more of the Satans as this would involve hurting one of Ajuka's employees and would require Ajuka to dispatch another courier to the pureblood in question. Option three wouldn't sit well with the Ajuka either and might genuinely get the Satans to dislike the perpetrator as they already aren't fans of those who target reincarnated devils. And from a third party perspective, Grayfia Lucifuge and Amadeus Valefor (if he is seen) jumping a reincarnated devil and stealing his token will make it look like they are still actively allied with the Old Maou faction. That is a very quick way to destroy any sympathy Fem-Sirzechs has for Amadeus due to her guilt about him being struck by her attack.

Alternatively it ratchets the sympathy up higher at Amadeus being driven to petty thievery by her actions.

I would expect for ajuka to have some kind of registry for all the piecs he produces, something like serielnumbers, and it would be trivial fo him to detect if they went with option two or three, as the pieces can be tracked that way. option one on the other hand has the benefit of many sets being there, and if they take random pieces, it would take much more time to detect the missing set. It would also give him the chance of getting more than one set, or finding additional information, like how to register them, or how to mutate them savely. And if he goes after a laboratory instead of a prblic shop, he can even get some special pieces.

Just occurred to me that both of Grayfia’s lovers have that love of music. She really has a thing for gentle men who pick up arms when necessary. Would love for Fem!Sirzechs and Amadeus’ first real interaction be incognito and based around their appreciation of music.

Out of character? She fought a war for the faction that hates Reincarnated Devils. If a loyalist to a racist regime shows up after a long retirement to steal from a minority that the regime used to hate, it doesn't matter if they were "forced" into thievery, they are showing that they haven't really changed based on who they are targeting. I believe this is brought up in the Worm fandom as well, that Purity's hero turn isn't believable because she only targets criminals who are minorities while ignoring white criminals. Similarly, the question wouldn't be: Why is Grayfia Lucifuge stealing? It would be: Why si she stealing from Reincarnated Devils when she is perfectly capable of stealing from Pureblood devils.

Also, Valefor speciality was Thievery and Security in this fic. Amadeus resorting to stealing would be expected to be his first course of action, not a move of last resort.

Beat up a couple couriere, snatch ONLY their boxes (ie. without their contents), then use them to sneak in at night like Solid Snake. And maybe hum the Mission Impossible theme for good measure lmao. (I voted for option one, too)

Burglary and mugging are both forms of thievery, but they are not the same. A Valefor breaking and entering or being a pickpocket would be one thing, effectively mugging someone for their lunch money would be petty thievery as I stated.

And you seem to forget that this is a supernatural setting where individuals have personal power that trumps financial power. Amadeus is a high class devil and Grayfia is an Ultimate Class. Even if FemZechs assumes that her attacker crippled Amadeus, which would be disproven in his very first public appearance, she is aware that Grayfia escaped unhurt. If a version of Metroman (from Megamind) that was an enforcer of a racist regime showed up post a long returement to beat up newly promoted member of a rising minority faction that the regime used to target, then his actions wouldn't garner sympathy, it would just act as a warning that he is back to his old role. In this specific instance in the story, having the token stolen would inform the Satans that Grayfia/Amadeus is after the Evil Pieces. Meaning from their perspective this action implies that in the worst case scenario Amadeus/Grayfia has chosen to ally with the Old Maou Faction (or shares their values) but is pragmatic enough to get himself/herself a set of Evil Pieces. That makes him/her a major threat that needs to be dealt with as it is likely that such an individual will not care about consent when it comes to recruitment practices. Depending on which era of Canon this is set in (pre or post truce), the Satans will have strong reasons to put a stop to this.

Also depending on when the serial numbers are done, h could get an "unfinished" set that may not have the serial number (or any other additions that may be put on at the end like the whole going crazy when a reincarnated devil leaves their master or the cost to reincarnate based on the strength of the king vs the strength and potential of the reincarnated being. Grafia is currently too strong for Amadeus to reincarnate even as a Queen, so unless he gets a set without this limitation either due to the pieces not working like that or it being something put on at the end and is not present in the pieces Amadeus takes. It being an artificial limitation makes sense, don't want an upity newly high class devil to reincarnate a napping Tiamat or other bing of similar power then have to deal with the aftermath when the power gap is too big for the king to control the reincarnated being.

Modern devils AREN'T weaker than their older counterparts. Cases like Sirzechs were OP as hell even during the Civil War. As Sirzechs once put it, what has changed in the current era is that instead of there being only single beings of extreme power as in the past, nowadays beings of great power have a circle/group that rises in power with them.

True however he grew up in peak Civil War era devils that were constantly fighting and training vs the Modern times where everything is far more laid back with the Rating game being to only real conflict devils his "age" engage in.

That is pretty much what the heist is. Ajuka is probably the type to have contingencies for thieves. But the sheer audacity to steal the Evil Pieces from his facility, combined with it being the first known case of Amadeus showing the Valefor family trait (after disappearing/being assumed dead for 500 years) AND Amadeus not being a vocal member of the Old Maou Faction might impress Ajuka enough that he actively chooses not to engage the contingencies.

If he is going to shaft a devil I would prefer it to be one of the pureblood snobs and not some poor reincarnate who already has to jump through hoops to even get that token. I image if a token was stolen from someone, the more snobbish devils could use it as an excuse to deny them kingship because " obviously they are unworthy if they had their token taken from them" ignor8ng the fact Grayfia could probably take a token off of just about anyone who isn't one of the 4 Satan's or a select few from the old Satan faction

I actually like this idea. Both Grayfia and Amadeus didn't seem to me like they bought into the old Satan rhetoric, they were just following Lord Lucifuge because the man was their father or father figure, not like Euclid who bought that hook line and sinker. I'm not even sure if lord lucifuge was an avid believer either, could be that he just sided with lucifer clan because he was the head of a cadet branch of the lucifer family

It's not like they'd be considered wanted criminals. Didn't Grayfia already say that the both of them are presumed dead? They literally have nothing to lose by just walking in the front door like they own the place...

I would also like to point out, that the reincarnations came after the war, and that the hate for the reincarnated devils has other reasons, its just that they overlap with the old satan factions believes, but is not limited to them, and they dont dislike all points of the practice. THe release of the evil pieces is also not limited to the new satan faction, but every devil has the rights to a set if a power treshold is met. It would also make sence for amadeus to more likely target a reincarnated devil in contrast to someone from an old family, as the security would be much more lax in comparison, and the accusation of targeting a miniority out of hate does not make sence, other than to use in politics. It is also important to point out, that just because they faught for the loosing faction, does not mean that they wanted to. They had obligations to their family , or just lived in the wrong parts of the underworld. Saying they are racists because they faughts for them is like saying , every german, austrian etc. is a racist nazi, just because their grandparents lived on german and its allies soil in 1920-1940. I would also like to point out, that just because they share some opinions with the old satan faction, does not mean they have to be members. It just means that they have shared opinions, like for example, about the importance of the older rituals that fall to the wayside because pf new cultural influences, or that the nobility should have an easier time getting into positions of power, because in contrast to the reincarnated devils, their children are taught from a young age how to rule a territorry or how to organize trops, as the new devils dont have the backround information and the needed skillset.

I really hope rias will NOT be involved with him. Would prefear it, that like in this one ff, she tries to hard to get issei killed to reincarnate him, and he not only finds out about it, but when her brother offers him repaiment, he wants her stripped of her pearage and married to riser as fast as possible. After all, from what i know he is just a normal noble devil , and she insults him after learning about having to do one thing for her family, to keep hep political power and position.

I don’t like the “Rias let Issei get killed” plot in fanfics because it tries to make rias look bad for not knowing something because she is so inexperienced

She is eathe incompetent for not knowing that there are enemies freely operating in her shared territorry, which is unlikely as sone also wathces over it, or , what is more likely, Rias knows about them, seen as she instantly shows up at the church to collect issei, and has concealed them from sona. The reason to do nothing about them , and even helping them, could only be that they target issei and she want him killed to ressurrect him afterwards as her slave. Would at least follow the pattern of how she got most of her pieces , all members who joined before issei have the same story, be at the lowest and rias shows up to offer them a place to stay with only having to be her slaves in exchange.

You're making an adolescent/ preteen Rias out to be some kind of manipulating mastermind. She had nothing to do with their situations. 😂 Shirone (Koneko) was put in Rias' care by Sirzechs to prevent her from being executed due to her sister's justified crash out. Akeno was chased across Kyoto by prejudiced members of the Himejima clan. Kiba was the victim of unsanctioned holy sword experiments lead by a rouge priest. Gasper joined after vampire hunters killed him after he escaped the vampires due to being abused, neglected, and isolated for being a dhampir. She was basically just lucky for plot convenience. Not some evil mastermind.

Option One all the way...doing things carefully means avoiding any contact with overnight staff or security while swiping a set of Evil Pieces, vs. the other options requiring an Ajuka courier or a reincarnated devil to get rumbled for either a set or the token for a set.
