I'm sure the vast majority of ppl out there yearn for a connection with that special someone who completes them. For those who have given up from having their heart stomped on too many times, I feel for you. But I hope you'll be able to pick yourselves up and find that person who makes you look forward to each sunrise

You say this is a rant but it sounds like poetry. So beautiful and raw. It's more than okay for your heart to not wanna be alone. Love can be the most confusing thing, but it's part of life to try to figure it out. I hope everything turns out well for you

I mean... it's okay right? To not want to be alone? It's scary being alone... the world always seems so harsh and cruel when you're alone

"Trying to defend your own heart against what it has already decided." THAT is a tough one. And it's spot on with how it happens, many times, because we find out a little after the fact that our heart has already checked a box. Can definitely empathize.

I heard this a while ago and found myself reflecting on it until now. Perhaps this is too much optimism or innocence, you can choose. But I believe that love, that genuine love that grows naturally and without pretense, is something rare. On the other hand, creating defense mechanisms to avoid feeling pain is the most common human movement of all. Allowing oneself to feel love is one of the bravest things we can do as completely confused beings, and loving is always worth it, even when it hurts in the end. Just make sure you have good friends and good places to visit when you need to give your heart time to heal. People disappointing you and leaving? You can't control that, and there's no way to stop it. Let people be who they are and, who knows, break your heart. That says more about them than about you. Just don't make the mistake of breaking your own heart. Do what will make you happy and be patient with yourself. And also, I missed hearing your voice during these days. I hope that things are well and that your heart is at peace. Remember to take care of yourself and seek moments of tranquility and joy. 💜

I've always thought that I don't need anyone in my life to "complete me." However, when you have that one special person that has your back and supports you so you don't have to face the tough times alone that is what it's all about.

I've been alone for more than 10 years now, and have lied to myself over and over when saying "I prefer being alone" or "I will get used to". We humans are social animals and are not made to be alone. And then you lie in your bed, by yourself, not being able to fall asleep and the thoughts start to race in your head. That is when the feeling of emptiness and loneliness kicks in. This feeling of loneliness and emptiness, you will never get used to. Only thing you find, is new ways to cover them.
