Draconeer Games - Announcement! (Patreon)
Content
Patrons, I am over the moon to be able to reveal the name of my personal game-publishing imprint. Going forward, Draconeer Games will be the name under which Colostle and all future Nich Angell projects will be published.
Firstly, I want to stress that this new identity is simply a way to give myself and my products a more visual and professional presence in the world of tabletop gaming. Nothing has changed behind the scenes, it is still just me, making these games on my own, exactly as it was before. Draconeer Games is Nich Angell and Nich Angell is Draconeer Games.
I haven't gotten any bigger, hired a staff, been bought-out or changed how I operate. I simply want Draconeer Games to be a recognisable badge for people to know that the products you see it on came from the same hand and heart as Colostle.
So why am I doing it?
Well, basically because I have loads more of exciting ideas and projects on the horizon that aren't Colostle, some of which coming quite soon. Up until now I traded as "Colostle' but obviously that is no good when I am offering other products, some of which completely unrelated to Colostle. So I needed a name that I could use for expo and convention presences and also could be on the products themselves to tie them together as Nich Angell products.
And this brings me to the big question I want to put to you, the Patrons.
My plan for Colostle is that it will be 6 books, and we are currently in the 5th (The Moat). When Colostle is complete I already have plans for something I would like to make next, my second major RPG project - and just like Colostle, I will be releasing it on Patreon in monthly modules, first to those who want to support the creation of it.
My question to you all is - Would you be happy if this Patreon account was to turn into a 'Draconeer Games' account in order to support these future non-Colostle projects on the horizon. That way if you remained a Patron you would be the first to see these new projects and also would never miss one of them. You would of course always be able to cancel your subscription if the future projects were not of interest to you.
I would likely create new tiers in order to facilitate people's desired support levels once this change occurred, so there would perhaps be a free tier that kept you in the loop, but then paid tiers above to receive the modules - allowing you to pick and choose which games/worlds you liked the sound of subscribing to, without having to cancel your subscription.
The other option of course would be to make new Patreons for each of the new projects, but I don't like this idea as much. Partly because of the community here is awesome, partly because growing a new one would likely be very difficult for me, and partly because the old Colostle Patreon would end up no longer being updated as much and so it would likely be forgotten. That would be sad to me!
I would sort all the new modules using the Collections tab, so you could easily switch between different projects there, and I would look to creating a slightly higher super-supporter tier that had even more awesome goodies in it to reward fans even more.
With this new model is Colostle going away?
Colostle is going nowhere. Even after it finishes, I will continue to support it, release new content for it from time to time, and remain connected to this incredible community that has formed around it. Colostle is so important to me and it holds a very special place in my heart. The 6 books are simply a way to tell a complete story with an ending, but it is not the ending of Colostle as a game. And I really hope that players continue to make supplementary content for Colostle using the OGL as well!

I hope all of that makes sense, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to put them in the comments, the Patreon direct messenger or email me at nichangell@hotmail.co.uk and I will answer them all.
Your support and love for Colostle means everything to me and I really hope I can take you on another exciting adventure with the projects I have planned! I cannot wait to show you them!
thanks all,
Nich x
