Hey guys!

Since we've just finished 'The Moat' and are heading into the final arc of monthly Colostle modules I wanted to check in with you all and what you would like to see the future of this Patreon to become. I outline my ideas in the video above, so let me know which of those resonate with you OR - if you have another idea for something you would like to see, let me know! I want to make sure this Patreon continues to be a place of value to you and I also want to keep its immense value to me in my life, too!

Let me know your thoughts!

thanks!

Nich

I'd certainly enjoy a peak into the Colostle ttrpg every now and then, but for the sake of your own work flow and enjoyment, I do say go with the new solo rpg as the next focus, but that's just me so far

TheSilentHarp

Personally I'd say a bit of all three. Maybe a short break for yourself first haha, take a month off for a well deserved break? 😂 Then it could be behind the scenes, the new solo-rpg, or a minor update to Colostle, perhaps like the Stillnights, or potentially even another campaign like Seastone when the mood takes you. The only thing I'll ever vote for with your Patron over hundreds of others, is that there is a lack of Patreon exclusives, as all content has been released out bar a few minor bits, I adore this about the channel, and personally feel that should continue one way or another.

Yes. Yes to all of it. This is literally the best patreon I have funded. These all sound great ideas. I’m a big fan of solo rpgs and this has been a great way of telling those stories. A new adventure in an entirely new universe with similar but different mechanics is exciting and of course the board game sounds incredible too. Keep doing what you’re doing mate!

Raine Bell

All exciting stuff! I absolutely adore Colostle, it’s one of my favourite solo RPGs, so I’m looking forward to anything you put out (so excited for the Rooklings game!). I’m primarily a solo gamer these days, so my vote has to go to the new solo game you have in the works being the next focus on the Patreon. Though I wouldn’t mind seeing more Colostle tidbits and the multiplayer process now and again.

Nathaniel

MY MAN NICH!!!! Dude. This is a great time to be alive! So many roads to choose from! I think I’ve been following you since 21’ So I’d like to offer my 2 cents! 1. More Colostle is always welcomed and I put it as number 1 because I think personally that’s the most awesome thing. Since it’s so big there’s so much that can be done in the world. So my vote will be for more Colostle to sum it all up. 2. Multiplayer Colostle would be super sick!! For some reason I’m getting a vibe of boss battler like monster hunter or Vagrantsong. Not sure how you will do it but just know I WILL be buying. 3. I know your only one man and not an octopus and things will take time so no rush, if your really excited for your next solo rpg then cool I’ll give it a look. Though, my heart is in Colostle. My vote has been cast 🗳️

Hello, I'm someone creative, also, and I'm not here to talk about me, I'm just rarely seduced honestly by the idea of another one, but you, you won my gamer heart over the top with Colostle, and this, because it suprises me. Then to be honest, I would more give all of my time to wait patiently for some new fresh compositions from you more than participate to their creation, I'd love to join to comment and follow, but to be honest, I also do really appreciate being "surprised", as a gift, and it is that sensation of a surprising gift that I love from your work with Colostle, then knowing too much, getting too much involve in, personally, kick a bit out my child's birthday gift sensation. Just saying, sometimes I think a bigger part of mystery make us dream another way, whatever, i cherish Colostle everyday like a drug addict 🙂, then whatever happens, I will follow.

I originally joined because I loved Colostle as a solo RPG, and I think I’m one of those backers mainly here for solo TTRPG content. I'm not sure I'd be as interested in a multiplayer version unless it somehow added more to the solo experience. That said, I’m really curious about your new TTRPG. Especially if it has solo play options and a strong theme. That could definitely keep me on board. I also really enjoyed the smaller Colostle content drops, like the weapon and rookling cards, and the wanted posters. The rookling cards in particular felt like they had a lot of untapped potential, though I still use them in my games. More content like that would be great! Good luck with your current and future projects and this decision for your Patreon!

Jocelyne Hayes

I love the wanted posters, so more small things like that would be awesome!

Emmanuel Petit

Boss battle... Indeed something as a real "Arena" with super huge bosses that you could fight solo or multiplayer, where we could even create our own rook out of harvested pieces in the Colostle, and propose to other to fight it, ...

Chris Lawson

My first choice would be multi-player Colostle RPG. I would love to share the world of Colostle with my friends and tell stories in that world. I have thought of importing Colostle into an existing RPG but I'm sure a better result would be for the designer of Colostle to design a Colostle RPG. The lack of "modularity" for such a project isn't an issue (for me) regarding Patreon. My second choice would be your new solo RPG. This offers (to me) the biggest risk as I currently don't have any information about it. I may not like the new setting, I might not like the new mechanics, so this choice assumes it is something I appreciate. This could be a hit, this could be a miss. Last choice is more of solo Colostle. Don't think this is a bad option as I've listed it last. I would like to see Colostle expanded but I like the Colostle RPG more, both of these options give me more Colostle and I'm sure I would be able to work the Colostle RPG into solo Colostle and vice-versa.

Michael Galarneau

I admit that I became a Patreon for Colostle and that is what I want more of! That being said, I am excited by all of your projects. I’ve backed Rookling Heroes and the prospect of a multiplayer Colostle TTRPG has me ready to back that as well. Even this mysterious new solo game will probably get my backing! As this all pertains to Patreon, I have no real interest in the behind the scenes stuff. If I am paying monthly, which I don’t mind doing, I prefer something tangible! I would love to see more Colostle content, but would also be okay with the modular stuff for the new solo game. Maybe a combination of both.

NeutronKen

Hi Nich, I came here because I adore Colostle. You need to follow your bliss and chase your dreams. I will follow you. More Colostle? Please. Another cool solo RPG? You betcha! Multi-player Colostle? Absolutely. I am here for the long term.

Lucas Monner

Well first of all, this is the first Patreon I've suscribed to that much time ever, and I'll never regret that decision. Thank you Nich for bringing us with you in this wonderful adventure, and congrats for everything you accomplished so far ! 1. Now, my take on the "End" of Colostle is a bit nuanced. Sure I love and always will love Colostle, but I feel that if a good thing needs to end, it's better to let it go on a good and powerful note. I'm not against more little bonus content from time to time, but I'm more excited about the new stuff you are working on (which I'm sure will be as good if not better than Colostle). 2. Multiplayer TTRPG is obviously a truly interesting project, that I'm willing to pay the subscription here to see how it is developped. Maybe not monthly, but glimpses of the progression as it goes, even it's not "playable" versions. And because I've already threw a game of my own homebrew TTRPG rules for Colostle, I'm also very interested in playtesting haha

ElGringoTom

Hi Nich, What i want ? Hard to tell ... But i can explain why i am still supporting your work since the first kickstarter. First, Colostle, which is for me a masterpiece. I decided to pledge just after reading the pitch and looking at your artworks. And what i finally had, was really really great !! Then i pledge to support your work in a first intention. But after some monthly releases, i was waiting the next one with so much impatience... a great variety of content, rules, scenarios, comics, add ons... Again, great ! I would like to say 'more colostle', but i have the feeling you can produce great things ! Make us dream again, and i will just stay 'a little pieces of colostle from times to times' ... Happy to be a part of your life change 😉

Claudia

Hi Nich, I'm new to this Patreon, and I came because I, too, love Colostle. I would love more of it, and I'd also be interested in the new solo RPG because that's how I play. Thank you for the great time I've had so far playing Colostle.

Josh Bailey

My vote would be: 1. New solo rpg 2. Ancillary Colostle stuff While I am very interested in playing a multiplayer Colostle (I will most likely purchase that) I am not interested in the development process of that. If that is what the Patreon becomes focused on I would probably drop. Thanks!

Ross Blaszczyk

Hey Nich, I joined because of the Colostle content and always look forward to next little module. You have a vision on how you want the project to go which I feel is important. I would love to see the new solo rpg but also seeing your passion for the multiplayer it clear its something that you want to do. Seeing an artist process is also very fun. Maybe doing some split content like one month is new rpg and another is mutliplayer and the third month is a colostle pack. The colostle pack could be sourced out to us. I follow another patreon Nick and Jake for their game magical land of yeld and they do a monthly monster thing maybe you could do one every quarter for Colostle and announce theme at the beginning of the quarter / month. Thank you for all the hard work.

Timothy Hyer-Devine

Totally new here, but all that sounds fun and I look forward to see what happens!

Emmanuel Petit

New solo rpg for me two. 🙂🙂🙂

Henry Benerman

You could commission minis and or terrain sculpts for Colostle or third party solo campaigns . You could then focus on your next project while keeping Colostle going.

Symatt

Do what excites you. New patreons will come and go.

Andrew Tucker

I want to see a full on, multi-player, RPG. set in the Colostle Universe.

Megawombat

Any of the three suggestions interests me - a mix would be good.

J.Tim

Joined for Colostle. Not sure if I would stay yet.

DatBoiSchwally

Hey Nich, I love seeing the passion in this comments section for the future of this Patreon in pretty much any form it takes. Personally, following the completion of the 6th solo Colostle book I'd love to see the multi-player TTRPG version developed. Depending on how long this takes and how much play testing content there would be, it would be nice to have tiny additions to the solo RPG (in line with wanted posters, etc) alongside the development updates if there's scope to do that. With all of that said, I'll also be super excited for when the time comes for us to move on from Colostle onto your next grand idea for solo RPG content. Here's to a bright future for us all, creator and patrons alike 😁

Mathmonik

Love the ideas! My preference would be 1) the new solo RPG and 2) the Colostle multi player TTRPG. Exiciting times to come 😁

Nak

I think I'm team multiplayer ttrpg after Solo Colostle wraps up, but also ech a few others that suggest maybe if nothing for a times on that front then scattering some light solo Colostle additions like new items or other pieces seen before. Keep it up!

Michael Chappell

I'm excited for all the options but I would be lying if I didn't say that the odd Tundroom/Ocean exploration style Colostle wouldn't make my day. I always look at the little biome descriptions in the Roomlands book and get a bit wistful for a little more Desert or Jungle depth haha

Jason DAlberti

So a new rabbit hole you be sending us down sounds awesome, and im on board...but the mention of behind the artists mind is more intriguing to me. Especially since I've started creating in that space, its awesome to see other people's perspectives and approaches...either way, im a fan of your work and will support it.

Hologram 0

I wrote a really long comment and then had to leave before I could hit send, and its all gone! Ok but to make this concise: I would LOVE to see your new adventure, and every so often get a post about Colostle instead, which could either be asking for playtesters for your multiplayer rpg game, or bite size pieces of the colostle world! It'll be very cool to see whatever you put here but I really want playable material more than anything! (I haven't read through all these comments but if there is a hesitancy towards your new solo rpg its likely because we don't have any details about it. After some thought I realized that it would be epic to be able to follow you from the very beginning of development with your new solo rpg, as I didn't get the chance to do so with Colostle!)

Nicola Iliffe

Colostle supporting content would be amazing, but it would be exciting to hear about the development of the Colostle RPG and how you make your games. I've personally not been using the drip fed stuff as I wait to play through the book to write up on my blog, so losing the regular content wouldn't affect me.

Malin

Me only gets play games solo and like more focus on it. But if sometimes you need switch focus and talk of multiplayer colostle it sounds interesting. Maybe every sometimes it cool add something new and small to Colostle because it’s great game but I’d def excited see new game adventure.

tabbyykatt

A new solo rpg would be cool and I'd be down to give it a try. However I adore colostle (Ive been playing since roomlanders and play at least once every month or two). Im sure another solo rpg will be fantastic, but Id love at least occasional colostle stuff too. Little extras like extra cards, mini adventure ideas, or npcs of the world. At least a couple solo colostle stuff a year would be great. I personally am not very interested in the multiplayer colostle other than possible extra lore. I love colostle as a solo player because i can play offline whenever and dont need to find people to do it.

James McGinnis

I love solo games. I have purchased all of Colostle but I have barely dented actual game play . Of the ideas presented I would stay for another solo RPG or an extension of Colostle - i.e., exploring other continents of their home world or interplanetary expansion in their stellar system and then moving to interstellar exploration in their galaxy. If Colostle goes the multiplayer route, I will in all probability leave this Patreon. I would try the creator's thought process idea at least for a few weeks. Just my personal reactions to your video. And lest I forget, Nich, "Thank you for Colostle, your hard work and labor bringing this wonderful game into our lives. Thank you with many blessings."

Richard

I bought my friend a copy of Colostle for his birthday and he loves it. So much so it made me order a copy. Kind of wish I'd ordered directly from the Colostle site as I've been waiting about 6 weeks for it to arrive. But can't wait to get stuck in to it once it gets to me

Dek

Dude I'm surprised its coming to an endd aww man! I would love the option 1. Where you make small additions or adventures! Maybe different tables for biomes for diversity! Ooo and one really cool idea is the Subfloors! Or Crawlspace, where beneath the floorboards there's pipes and such of the colostle.. giant cobwebs and stuff! I think that would really fit the theme. Also a Spire! A part of the colostle that just keeps going up and up far above the battlements! These are just silly ideas though!

holden landry

So I think it would be cool to get a homebrew guide to making weapons, rooklings, etc. similar to the cards with dice abilities and insight to creating mechanics and prompts to help customize and expand the experience. Also, if you’re considering moving to a new rpg / dev content. I have been following the dungeon coach and his development of DC20, and I think the way he does content and shares his development process is very engaging and entertaining

Tony Graham

As a brand new joiner, I joined for new playable content. So I like the idea of kind of switching between the new solo rpg and Colostle content. As a mainly solo player (when my son visits we do get to play multiplayer RPGs) the multiplayer option is much less interesting but still would be neat to see some bits here and there, but not the main focus.

Stephen Pearce

Option one and two would be of more interest to me as a solo player, having extra stuff to add to a new or existing colostle game but also a new solo game is also welcome

Tom Hill

New comer here, to the game and the Patreon! Although having early access to rules is a nice perk, it leaves me wondering if I should pick up the books or just lift the content from here. Physical books (even pdfs) are a big draw for me though. I see the perk of a monthly installment though, but I'm not at that stage yet. Down the road, having smaller exclusive content here on the Patreon would be a good reason to keep it, and hopefully it's still worth your while. All the things you mentioned, including your other projects sound positive to me, I'm sure you'll make the right decisions. I'm not a natural storyteller so assets like Myrioramas decks or similar would be something cool to see btw!

Matteo De Cristofaro

I just got in to the colostle world and I've instantly done the patreon when i discover that there's extra content. For me the best i can expect is to have a rotation between the new game content and some lighter colostle content 😊

John Roughley

Brand new here and I’m already completely obsessed with the world and the game play loop. I’m loving drawing cards then sleeping on what adventures will come to my character. I can’t wait to get a hold of the hardbacks of these models because I’m old school and I like the touch, the smell the feel of a book. Even the little things like the silk book mark is amazing. However you are one man and I wouldn’t want you to go through burn out on one IP. If you can bring something as personal as Colostle to another setting I am here for it. On the subject of a multiplayer focused game set in the world of Colostle at this point my bank deatails and sort code are… but seriously when you say card based are you thinking more on the lines of something similar to what you have in the coop rules or would you be incorporating a GM into the game?

Dave Cashin

I just discovered Colostle. I would be dismayed that you are moving on, but I have sooo many adventures to run through I am sure it won't catch up to me until your next project is well underway. I particularly love the art work, and was wondering if there might be some sort of character art creator or character art deck? I strongly dispise AI art and those options. Thoughts? That being said a co-op approach would be great I have a feeling I would like to share these adventures w a team

Dollar Bill

If you're sticking with the card n dice map drawing rpg. Maybe like a rouge trader space pirate thing. Charting a galaxy ,making your fortune , ship battles, blasters n laser swords adventure, role n write kinda like colostele. Gonna try n get the rest of the hardbacks I'm missing before they are no longer available. I enjoy the monthly updates but there's just something about having a solid book to page through. Is there maybe a master tome with all the published colostele books combined as one in the future. That would be great to have it all organized in one book and with the art would look excellent on the shelf with the rest of a man's rpg collection. Also big excited for multi player colostele and super interested in this mysterious new project you got cooking up. Keep up the excellent work and best wishes my dude.
