Just like for the previous issue, I recorded the full process of drawing and colouring the cover of Sonic Retold #5. I haven't uploaded a speedpaint in over a year, but here's a fresh sample of my painting process condensed into four short minutes for your viewing pleasure. ^_^ I learned how to create the fire effect by watching other artists on the defunct PGN Community, and hopefully others can learn the same technique from me. It's really not the hard once you know how to apply a gradient map and cloud filter to a greyscale image. Have fun watching this.

openCanvas speedpaint - Sonic Retold #5

It's the end of the line in "The Traitor"! Sonic's long pursuit of Princess Sally reaches its conclusion as Team Fighters and the Arctic Freedom Fighters approach the Death Egg in the Northern Tundra. But zero hour draws near in the countdown to the Genesis Wave. Will Sonic recover his love.... or will history repeat itself? o_O This issue also sees the return of Knuckles, Julie-Su and Dimitri. They have a mission to help rebuild Albion, but Remington might have his own plans. Expect to see a few new faces in this issue, including the long-awaited reveal of Lara-Le's mysterious prisoner. Have you guessed who it is yet? Stay tuned to find out!
