Script progress report (Patreon)
Content
A quick update to let Patrons know that work on Sonic Retold is going well. I mentioned before that I needed a respite over the Winter hols to write further ahead in the script. I launched into issue #5 without being certain of its heading and I wanted to address that before going any further. So I put my head to the grindstone and started making long-term plans for the comic that needed to be set up early.
It's a tough job because I have a large number of plotlines to juggle, which makes it difficult to balance and weave them into a coherent story. In fact, it got SO complicated that I took a different approach and started to arrange each scene with its featured characters in a list that looks like the image below. This shows the scene order for each issue and the number of pages each scene requires. Presenting it this way makes it much clearer how to balance the characters so none are absent for too long, and I can easily rearrange the order to prevent issues becoming too long or too short. It's a helpful tool when diving deeper into the script and I've made great progress on it recently. ^_^
So expect to see some startling developments in the rest of issue #5. I'll resume the comic later this month, I just need to finish up a few things here first. For now, keep your fingers crossed that Sonic successfully rescues Sally. Stay tuned....
