Aaaaaand there it is. So it's known in Archie Sonic that Mecha Sally is the one that causes the world to end in the future, but it was never stated exactly how one Robian can be responsible for such a cataclysm. This is a loose thread that I wanted to resolve in Sonic Retold, and this is the answer I came up with. A power ring is ejected from the Genesis Wave, so Eggman uses the one he installed in Mecha Sally to reactivate it. As such, Mecha Sally becomes the 'traitor' that Silver foresaw would herald the  apocalypse. Only moments to execute it before the Death Egg burns up. The countdown is on...... O_O
