Hey guys, sorry I've been a bit of a stranger the last couple weeks. It's been a busy time. I'll give you a quick rundown of what's going on with me and where the next big video is at.

So basically I've been trying to pick up any extra shifts that I can owing to me needing to save up a good deal of cash. My wife and I have been trying to leave California for a while now as even though it's the only home I've ever known, it's just too expensive for us to make a life here. Part of this attempt to get out has been my wife applying for grad school. This is the second year she's tried and we got an interview out at a school in the midwest. It cost us about $1500 in travel expenses to go not counting all the application fees. A couple weeks ago we finally heard back from the school we interviewed at and it was the worst case scenario; wait-listed.

Being wait-listed is bad for us because whereas a solid YES or NO from the school would mean that we knew where we were going to be in the next six or seven months and could prepare for the move, a wait-listing means that we'll have no idea where we're going to end up until about 45 days before the move. If we had gotten a no we would have just moved out to live with my parents for a few months in Texas while we lined up jobs and then get our own place. I could have even tried getting a job that was willing to help relocate me and skip living with my parents entirely. I can't do that now because I have no idea where we're going to be until about mid-may.

The best I can do now is set aside as much money as I can from my paychecks so that when we get the news about if the grad school is going to accept my wife or not, I'll have enough cash to afford the relocation, a breakneck trip to find a new home near the grad school, and the deposit on a new apartment+enough cash to squeak by for a few months while I find a new job. Texas will be an admittedly easier trip as while I'll have to have my wife's car freighted along with our things, I don't have to worry about housing.

What does this mean for videos? Well lately it means that I come home too tired to edit or even play games associated with videos I want to make because I keep on scrambling for as much work as possible or have been trying to look for a better paying job. I've come to terms with the futility of this though as I've found out the hard way that effectively no one is hiring full time and if I just focused on videos I'd have more money, so that's what I'm going to do now.

The video on Thief Simulator is hopefully coming out this weekend. The attached video is the entire review of Phoenix Point as everything I have to say about that game in it's current state fits into a space of less than one minute. I've played a few games related to the RTS history doc for footage purposes but I haven't really worked on the big list lately owing to just not having the energy. I'm currently home sick with a cold but maybe I'll take advantage of the downtime to suss out what games should be covered for the mid 2000s or so.

Thank you all so much for hanging in there with me. I'll see you guys next week.

The Entire Phoenix Point Review

The game was so dull I couldn't even get a minute of content out of it. Enjoy I guess.
