Curse of Curses - Character Introductions (Patreon)

I've been wanting to do this post for awhile, so here it is!

The Curse of Curses is a short webseries I'm currently developing as a way to work up to making Orion's webseries. You can look for my previous posts where I introduce this story and talk more about that process.

Allow me to introduce to you all the main characters of The Curse of Curses.

First, meet Palomo. He is a Captain in the Stained Guard.

See, in the world of The Curse of Curses, the land runs amok with curses. But there is one place you can find absolute refuge from curses and the cursed: The Stainless City. In the City, all its citizens are curse free, and their safety is maintained by the Stained Guard. The Stained Guard is an army made up of people with harmless, minor curses. Since they are not allowed to live in the City, this is the closest a cursed person can get to the safe haven. Those that enlist into the Guard do so in the hopes of winning the lottery of the Windfall Ceremony; an annual ceremony where one lucky guardsman is awarded the choice of gaining a blessing from the Court of the Blessed. The Court of the Blessed is the ruling class of the City, and each member can be selected to bestow a blessing on the winner, though most choose a blessing from the Curse Breaker.

Palomo has been apart of the Guard all his life. He is a polite, rule follower who can often be a little naive. He has a strong sense of justice to the point of selflessness. His curse is very harmless, though embarrassing: every time he gets flustered he coos like pidgeon.

As for the other...

Meet Guillermo Maldonado, the man with the Curse of Curses.

Guillermo is the current holder of the long bloodline that carries on the Curse of Curses. It simply works like this: he can put a curse on you simply by touching his bare hand to your bare skin. The curses he places are random, so if luck is on your side (which it probably isn't if he's near enough to touch) you might walk away with a minor curse. But if not...

He is the ringleader of notoriously sinister group called the Forsaken, who rule over cities and villages with the fear and terror their curses create. Maldonado has often graced the Stainless City with his presence, always being intercepted by the Stained Guard.

Palomo had become the guard who often deals with Maldonado, as Palomo made it his personal goal to bring Maldonado to justice. Yes, they are arch enemies.

That is until Maldonado disappeared two years ago...
